  1. Ok everyone with this year coming to a close I'm starting to look at things for next year. Keith is a given, we'll be there for that one as usual and personally I'd like to add Grantown Motormania to the Annual Events list (thanks for the heads up on that one Scooby Doom). I suppose we could also add Buckie to the Annual list as it seems to be the one start everything off up here! The days at Boyndie were great fun and we've got a good relationship going with the Aberdeen District Motorsport Club which is good and of course the guys and girls at the Grampian Kart Club. Hopefully next year we can arrange a day at Boyndie for the club with some Karting and hopefully a chance to get the Scoobs on the track as well. I was thinking about having a look at some of the hill climbs that we have in the area as well as the sprints at Boyndie. I'll arrange the detailing day that didn't happen this year as the guys were in the process of moving the business, so we can add that to the prospective list. This is just see if there's anything anyone fancies doing or is there something someone knows about that could be a good day out/event for us to attend. I noticed yesterday that so far this year I've done less than 4,000 miles in the scoob so I think a few runs could be on order next year as well..... So here's my list of prospective events for 2014 - in no particular order Buckie Keith - Rrrallye Event Grantown - Motormania Boyndie - Sprints Fintray - Hillclimbs Boyndie - SIDC Karting/Track day Detailing Day - Aberdeen A few runs One other option I was thinking of was Driftland - one of the guys at work has a drift prepped IS200 (turbo, front mount, feck off huge hand brake) and he heads down for all the events there. So we have a way in if we can get the interest/numbers. Or we could do Club day there for anyone, there was a thread on here about it when it was still being built. So the floor is open for anyone to have their say and give me some ideas.

Remember, only a fool breaks the 2 second rule.” Road Safety Scotland website ‘Get in Lane’ contains information and a driving game related to the ‘2 Second Rule’:- § Watch the vehicle in front of you pass a landmark such as a sign or tree at the side of the road. § As the vehicle in front passes the landmark, start counting. § If you pass the landmark within 2 seconds, you are following too closely. § If you are towing a trailer or the road surface is wet or slippery, increase your distance by counting to 4 seconds. 3. Not good, but at the end of the day things happen... Footballers break legs, rugby players break bones/spines, Skiers break lots of bones. Unfortunately in motorsport it's quite often the spectators who can get hurt, especially in rallying where fences are a rarity. Never good when it happens, thoughts go out to the injured and the occupants of the car.
  4. Welcome along, nice looking car. Don't see many in Black....

  7. Mines got a gearbox lock fitted, keeps it locked in reverse and it gets reversed to the garage. Then the blob eye is parked in front of it and that's got a gearbox lock that keeps,it in neutral. When I visit the north east to see family the disk lock steering lock comes out as well.

  9. Bloody women - looks it's saturday for me now.... Probably be there 11ish for a few hours.
  10. Ok folks any preference on which day we visit. I'm fairly easy at the moment though Sunday could be a good bet for a few hours of track action.
  11. Saturday or Sunday Taff, I'm easy, whenever folks can turn up really!
  12. Taff, sort the day at Boyndie and it'll save on fuel to get down the road!
  13. Ok here's this weeks camera locations. Northern Camera Partnership have published their locations and as now seems normal the North East Partnership haven't updated theirs since early June! Northern Safety Camera Partnership deployment intentions w/c 23 September 2013 Subject to operational exigencies, the Northern Safety Camera Partnership Mobile Camera Unit will be operating at the following locations during week commencing 23 September 2013: Badenoch, Strathspey & Nairnshire A96 - Gollanfield, by Nairn A9 - Near Dalwhinnie A9 - North of Dalwhinnie Junction A9 - Cuaich, by Dalwhinnie A86 Kingussie to Newtonmore Lochaber A82 - Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe A82 - Near White Corries, Rannoch Moor, Lochaber Caithness and Sutherland A9 - South of the Mound, by Golspie A949 Evelix Road, Dornoch Ross & Cromarty B817 Shore Road Invergordon A835 - Inverlael Straight, near Ullapool A834 - Strathpeffer Road, Dingwall Inverness A9 - Daviot, by Inverness A96 - West of Allanfearn Junction, by Inverness Additional Deployments A9 Skiach junction to Broomfield, Ross-shire All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. 14. It's been pap for a while..... Can't remember the past time I watched it
  15. I used to get pulled on average once a month when got my first scoob - blob with full rally graffix. I never did anything wrong it was just 'spot checks' and stuff like that. After about 6 months it stopped. Never been pulled over in the new one and I think the last time I was asked to sit in the back for a chat was when I was nabbed at 77 on the A96.... The sheriffs words were great 'I'm sure the cars capable and you are but 77 in a 60 is illegal... Even if looked fun'
  16. I've been having a look around the Sprint/Hill Climb champs forums and it's looking like the September rounds at Boyndie won't be part of the champs now. Something to do with the date changes and a regulation that 100% have to agree to the changes or it's dropped from the calendar. It is looking like it will be part of the Highland Speed Championships though and is scheduled for the 28th-29th. I've email the Grampian Kart club for clarification and the contact we have at the ADMC to see if they can shed some light on what's going on! At the minute it's looking like there's still some racing going on which is what it's all about.
  17. Reet, done a bit of digging and the Aberdeen & District Motorsport Club has no dates listed yet The Scottish Sprint and Hill climb Champs webpage says 21st-22nd. Then if you look at the Grampian Kart Club web site it says 28th-29th as there's already some stuff organised the previous weekend. So at the minute i'd go off the Grampian Kart clubs info. I'll send out some emails and see what comes back!
  18. Here's the latest updates. The North East camera Partnership have still not updated their page since 7th July so here are the details for the Northern Safety Camera Partnership 16 September 2013: Badenoch, Strathspey & Nairnshire A96 - East Auldearn Junction, by Nairn A95 - North of Cromdale A95 - Drumuillie, by Boat of Garden A95 - Congash Farm, by Grantown on Spey A96 - Gollanfield, by Nairn B9152 Aviemore to Kincraig A9 - Near Dalwhinnie A86 Kingussie to Newtonmore Lochaber A82 - Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe Caithness and Sutherland A9 at Helmsdale A9 - South of the Mound, by Golspie A99 at Mid Clyth A949 Evelix Road, Dornoch A99 - South of Wick at Hempriggs Ross & Cromarty A9 - Near to Fearn Junction by Tain Inverness A82 - Altsigh Youth Hostel, by Invermoriston A96 - West of Allanfearn Junction, by Inverness A9 - Daviot, by Inverness A9 - Altnasleanach, by Inverness Additional Deployments A9 between Latheron and Thurso A9 Skiach junction to Broomfield, Ross-shire All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. We may from time to time use mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works. http://www.nscp.co.uk/news --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll keep an eye out for any updates from the North East Camera Partnership but i'm not holding my breath
  19. I went off the Scottish Sprint & Hillclimb Web site though when we were there last time there was some talk of dates being mixed up. I'll see what I can find out!
  20. £100 spent on a new battery..... So i'll be there in the scoob. What days best for every one, any day works for me but Saturday could be best for a few hours of car/track action.
  21. Turning up would be a bonus he's normally floating about somewhere else when stuffs on. Nearer the time we can sort out a day/time and meet up at Boyndie for a brew, bacon sarnie and a natter
  22. Auto-Glym Leather Care is good stuff as well. I always used to put something under the kids seats to protect the car seats nothing worse than some quavers or wotsit's being ground into the upholstery by a kids seat!
  23. Ok, the next rounds of the Scottish Sprint & Hillclimb Champs to be held at Boyndie are apparently on the 21st/22nd Sep (NOW 28th & 29th). At the moment the scoob is laid up with an electrical issue - I think the battery is goosed as it just doesn't seem to hold any juice if you leave it for a few days. Hopefully i'll get it sorted soon. Anyway I haven't heard from the ADMC about it (or a club stand) but I was thinking about possibly heading over one of the days for a bit of spectating and I was just wondering if anyone else fancied it. It was a hoot last time we went hopefully things will be wet this time to add to the spectating fun!!!
  24. 225 for the blob and the hawk - got to love the JDM's 2 litre donk
