  1. Heat wrap will smoke when it's new but it should stop once it's bedded in... unless it's the cheap crap that catches fire! Tein gear is notoriously stiff.... even their spring kits are like fitting granite to your dampers. It'll be dowen to trial and werror to get it set up how you and the car like it. Unfortunately our roads are shite and nothing like the billiard tables coilovers work best on! No idea about the rest!
  2. Got one of those arranged up here, just waiting on setting a date in the summer when we might get a nice day. There'll be demo's on machine polishing - including the chance to have a go, claying and treating the paintwork and some nice discounts as well. Anyone's welcome to head up to aberdeen for it when i set the date with the detailers
  3. Highlands information first from NSCP. Issue: 2nd May 2013 Northern Safety Camera Partnership deployment intentions w/c 6 May 2013 Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion, said: ” As summer approaches we will see an increase in the amount of bike riders sharing the road. “This week I’m urging both motorcyclists and pedal cyclists to make sure they can be seen by other road users by wearing high visibility clothing. I’m also appealing to drivers to take an extra few seconds to look out for motorcyclists and pedal cyclists at junctions and before overtaking etc. “It’s important for all road users to appreciate that ‘riders’ are vulnerable road users and we all need to share the road space considerately.” Subject to operational exigencies, the Northern Safety Camera Partnership Mobile Camera Unit will be operating at the following locations: Week commencing 6 May 2013: Badenoch, Strathspey & Nairnshire A96 - Gollanfield, by Nairn A9 - Near Dalwhinnie A9 - North of Dalwhinnie Junction A9 - Cuaich, by Dalwhinnie A95 - Drumuillie, by Boat of Garden A95 - Congash Farm, by Grantown on Spey Caithness and Sutherland A9 - South of the Mound, by Golspie A99 - South of Wick at Hempriggs A9 at Helmsdale Ross & Cromarty A9 Skiach junction to Broomfield, Ross-shire B817 Shore Road Invergordon A834 - Strathpeffer Road, Dingwall A835 - Inverlael Straight, near Ullapool A9 - Near to Fearn Junction by Tain A832 at Avoch Inverness A96 - West of Allanfearn Junction, by Inverness A9 - Daviot, by Inverness A82 - Altsigh Youth Hostel, by Invermoriston All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. 11. ok everyone i've had an update from the folks that run the Boyndie Event. They weren't joking when they said limited space. We can have the gazebo, flags and 3 cars. So i'll have a look at the list and see what/who we have as i think it'll be best to have a spread of classic, newage and maybe a limited edition where we can, if not a mix of classic and newage would do. When i have anything else i'll keep everyone updated!

  13. I wouldn't know i've never used one. I'm normal i can read a road map!
  14. Try a compass..... head north and come off the A9 at the Raigmore turning!
  15. it'll be a good one if it stops dropping snow/hail over the weekend...
  16. the wench will be armed with the canon and the roadhawk is always running when the car is on. I'm sure there'll be the usual array of go-pro cameras strapped in various precarious places on the side and back of cars over the weekend!
  17. I know the feeling. 23 years in the RAF as aircraft tech, qualifications in QA, Continuous Improvement, Management, Genral engineering.... etc and i'm in an office in dyce checking reports made by the guys offshore. They are slowly realising i can do things without having my hand held and gave me an 18% rise and promotion after 6 months so i didn't walk. There are still times i sit an shake my head at how things work and the amount of cash they waste on things though. There are times i think it would be easier to say i have no qualifications at all.... train me! and i'd have more chance of getting an offshore job
  18. i've got a set of plates with Mr Shanks reg on them and ''Dave Shanks says Feck the plod'' across the bottom!
  19. well as long whoever's at the front pays attention the rest of us will react as we have to!
  20. No fuel container unless you plan on sticking with the 'progressive' group. I've done it in a standard blob and tuned Hawk and never needed to carry extra fuel. Doing about 160 miles a day you should be fine. The guys who carry jerry cans everywhere burn more fuel carrying the extra weight than anything else!

  22. Nice one Rich, i got the email about that but was meant to be offshore. If you keep cutting bits off it'll weigh less than a packet of quavers before you know it!
  23. 1900 of them have been in the last 2 weeks
  24. Looking good. Got to say i think of all the scoobs the hawk has the best looking frontend. Looks mean and purpouseful, though i'm in no way biased!
