That looks absolutely immense Gus! Hope you have it for a long time to come, but if you don't i'll be at the front of the queue to take it off your hands!
-
Nice one!! Would have loved this myself but not quite the right time. Glad it's gone to a forum user so we can watch any progress. Keep us updated if you can!

Send an e-mail with a large title header that will stick out, so he knows it's regarding a booking and not just an everyday enquiry which he probably get loads of. And be patient, he's really busy but will reply. I believe he is constantly booked up 5-6 weeks in advance.

ATE Super Blue Racing is really good stuff mate.

That looks and sounds like a beauty mate... Nice one.

That could be the Potenza REO-70s you probably have on the car.. do you? Also won't help the skittish-ness over bumps because the sidewalls are so stiff...

That looks cracking mate!! Like those wheels as well, and I don't usually like wheels with a coloured band round the outside but those are nice!! How much lower is it? And are they adjustable for height? Just wondering because I want to go lower (Hawkeye STI) but not sure if I can manage it much lower in my day to day driving! Let us know how you get on with the ride height and quality etc!! Cheers, Mark

Not much mate, £20? Or make me an offer. Just looking to get rid of it! Cheers, Mark

Most Powerful A Subaru Impreza Can Go Up To?
sparky_sj04 replied to kaylz_555's topic in Scottish Scoobies
A WRC car is limited to 300bhp, but has approx 650lb/ft of torque @3000rpm. Therefore power "comparisons" become pretty futile. I realise what you were asking but it's not quite as simple as a figure. As everyone has said, look at Andy F's race car, Andy N's race car, and of course The Gobstopper. When you see what these cars are doing in drag racing and Time Attack it becomes pointless to talk about who has the most power!! If you have enough cash you can pick a figure. As they say, power is for pub bragging rights, torque wins races...... -
Meercat. Without a doubt.

I have an STI backbox (from a Hawkeye) living in my spare room that's looking to move out and broaden it's horizons if you are interested. Cheers, Mark

Don't know if anyone in the UK is doing them. Just remove your old one, chop off the bottom and patch over/seal the hole where you chopped it! Problem solved and would be pretty easy to do.

Very good!! Nice empty track for testing as well!!

STOO have a read of this..... http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=130574 That will give you some extra turbo sound! There is a good whoosh of air as the turbo is spooling up and working, and you can hear the standard dump valve as well. You can choose to buy the delete elbow to put in it's place or just leave it open, as the filter intake sits very close to the hole in the wing. Alternatively chop the bottom off the resonator box and put the elbow back in place, either modified to be sealed again, or with a hole in the bottom (as I am doing because I also have a cold air intake in the bumper).. It seems to be worth removing anyway. Mark

Good luck with the "latest round" mate! Sounds very impressive.. Unfortunately i'll be back in Brazil in July but look forward to seeing it sometime in the future.
-
Sorry to hear that, but never mind, just wait until you no longer have the option of taking the Scooby out or not..... and i'm sure you'll be back soon!

Nice write up mate, and well done.. Fingers crossed everything goes well for you at Knockhill. Another write up after that please! For those of us that can't make it!! Cheers, Mark

That's strange... I have a lot more power than an RB and auto-mode is not an issue.. It certainly has no problems "keeping up". I have been told by some very experienced and skilled Scooby drivers that to keep it on the road auto-mode is the way to go.. Because the electronics will always react faster than you can! If the bias is towards the front (nearly locked) then the power will be more evenly distributed between front and rear (all 4 turning together) so it will be a pig to drive in twisty stuff, or as you say, roundabouts. Very good in snow though if you just need to get to your destination. Although the diff says 'locked' in it's furthest forward position, it is never completely locked... it's just another gradient. Personally I keep it on auto for most of the time. But horses for courses and all that!! If you find it better adjusting it in manual then that's good.

Brilliant mate, cheers for that. I'll be going for a few of them. Didn't realise there was so many..
-
That sounds good. Unfortunately I'm at sea just now otherwise I would be there. Are you a member? Or how did you hear about it? Would be interested to hear of any in the future.. Cheers, Mark
-
Just need to ask mate, what age were you in the "late 90's"??? 12??
-
Nothing much to add that hasn't been said, apart from leave the Diff on AUTO.. unless you have plenty space and fancy some drifting - but I doubt that's the case on this occasion. And to reiterate what has been said, don't let your fuel go below half a tank or you will get surge coming out of the hairpin! Oh and if your brakes are starting to fade then better get on the anchors AT the Clydesdale bank bridge, if not before! Or you'll overcook in into the first corner, and that can be less than amusing!! Oh and have a good one!! What's the score with the private night for 15 cars? I've been seeing a few of these happening midweek. How are these being organised? Cheers, Mark
-
Yes they will... Read it. "The brakes are a direct fit for all 114.3 P.C.D MY05+ STI models and can be made to fit on earlier cars is the brackets and Discs are machined for the smaller P.C.D." Looks like a bargain to me.

Have a look here... http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/shop/co...product=LIB0015 If I was you I think that's what i'd be going for. They seem to have a lot of cheap parts taken from brand new cars before they are turned into Type-20s etc. I don't know what is included in that price shown, but certainly looks like it could be a very good deal. Cheers, Mark
