  1. I think you missed my point mate. That's exactly what I meant. Maybe Should of said 'individual' and not 'employee'. Then again if they are employed by a company (or franchised business) then they are an employee.
  2. I just used the Chips Away in Glasgow (Cumberland Street) to get my bumpers and bonnet painted and they were really good.. First rate job. It all depends on who is doing the work I suppose.. It's the employee not the company that does the job after all...
  3. Good on you with this mate. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses..
  4. You are mental! But if anyone deserves a 10 second run it must be yourself! Looking forward to seeing the results. Good luck. Cheers, Mark
  5. I think I could be seriously considering it. Need a few more details though. Principally because (daft optimism aside) I'm thinking that the price may be starting with a 4. I'm watching with interest.
  6. More to the point Gav................................ WHEN??
  7. Definitely a problem mate, I'd get it looked at. Mine doesn't do that, it's not an issue at all, and you can blip the revs a tiny bit before you feel you've even touched the pedal, so it shouldn't have any dead-travel in it..
  8. Sorry to hear about the crash mate. However talking from experience, once you get the settlement do make sure you don't rush to buy the first similar car as a replacement. I did that just to banish the crash from my mind and ended up with a car not nearly as good as the one I wrote off! I know you'll be dying to get another one but make sure it's as good as the broken one or you'll regret it!! Cheers, Mark
  9. Nice one mate. I'd have been happier just listening to the car right enough - sounds lovely..
  10. Nice one Gav, that's around what I thought. My brother offered him £2100 and the guy knocked it back so more fool him I say. I've persuaded him now to stay well away. Too many nice cars about for low money to go for something with a questionable history. Cheers
  11. That doesn't sound very good mate. It sounds for a start like your head gasket is probably away. I would investigate that before anything else.. Good luck.
  12. Cheers mate, that's what I thought. Also no mention of mapping, yet it's running with a huge K&N, VTA dump valve, and decat. It also had a lot of play in the steering apparently. I've told him to stay away, seems to be too many problems and it's overpriced.
  13. As above, does anyone know anything about this car? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1466889.htm My brother is looking to buy it but I've not been able to have a look because it's up North. Plus to say he knows nothing about Scoobies would be a wild overstatement. Cheers..
  14. Me too. Where did you get the 3/4 size plate from?
  15. Hawkeye RA-R - plus cash to maybe properly strip out and cage. Or 22B and restore to good as new... Or RS4 Avant... Would be a tough one right enough..
  16. Powder coating is much cheaper, so therefore also cheaper when you kerb one and have to have it repaired. Plus at a cost of £35 a wheel including tyre fitting and balancing (from Chameleon), you can't go wrong. I must say I have had 3 sets done, 2 of which at Chameleon (one last week actually) and the work is first rate. I've also never seen any signs of degradation but I'd be loathed to use highly acidic cleaners often - so it's just a matter of common sense. The way I see it, at that cost you can chop and change the colour from time to time, and it's also easy to keep a sparkling new looking set of wheels on the car because if one gets damaged you can have it done again! Cheers.
  17. Well make sure Gav takes you for a spin in the car..... and then get your wallet out! (if you can still speak!!)..
  18. I spend a lot of my time away at sea thinking about maybe selling up... Then I come back and drive it again and am 100% converted again! I will agree that you can get acclimatised to it when driving it every day, and the shine starts to dull. But take a few days off or (as mentioned) get a s****ey runabout for the daily grind, and I think you'll change your mind about selling!! But good luck whatever you do!
  19. You'll probably find that a good deal of the people on here have had exhausts done by one or the other. I can only speak for Meercat and say that they are great. The quality of work is second to none. They have an extremely good and well deserved name. For example it was Meercat that Colin Mcrae used for his system on his 'money no object' Mk2 Escort. That has to say something! Check out their website and/or phone the boss (Willie) and I'm sure he will put your mind at ease. I'm also sure others will be along to add to what I've said. Prices are good too. Cheers, Mark
  20. Hayward & Scott like this one. http://www.haywardandscott.com/subaru/suba...ge-backbox.html I have one on my STI and would highly recommend it. Also a nice subtle look so wouldn't mess with the current look of your RB. Sounds amazing though. (edited to say): I also have H&S centre section. Before I got the new DP though I had original DP - H&S cat pipe - H&S centre - H&S BB. With a centre and backbox I'm sure your car would sound much better. Cheers, Mark
  21. Hawkeye (MY06) STI for sure... Contrary to what's been said I've not heard any horror stories about the 2.5 engine. Certainly NO more than any other engine. It would be a mistake not to at least drive one and see the difference over the UK 2.0 because the difference is huge! I think the 2.5 is MUCH better. If you are planning on any mods then don't bother with the RB320, because you'll pay premium prices because it's the RB, then end of taking off the Prodrive parts that you paid for, and replacing them with others - all the while de-valueing your RB! The RB is just an STI with Prodrive parts added on (all of which you could source and have fitted yourself). Cheers, Mark
  22. Hi mate, If I was you'd I'd try to sell it privately. As for the dealers question, the man to ask would be Gav @ Ian Grieves (scoobyseller555). I think anyone would take the mods into account but by no means anywhere near as much as you paid for them. You'd probably just get book price plus a little bit more. Not sure what it would be worth but it's a similar spec to mine so I would like to think somewhere around 13.5-14k to the right buyer (privately). Cheers, Mark
  23. Really sorry to see that mate.. What goes through these people's heads after they've done that? "oh yeah I'm a right hard cnut cause I've just poured paint stripper over a strangers car while he was nowhere to be seen!!" eh?????? Got to be young neds as you'd like to think a real man wouldn't stoop so low, even if they did have a problem.. Hope you get it sorted mate.
