Looks good and sounds superb Cal. Plenty spent I see but looking worth it. Your old man challenged you on the track then ? . Dunno who's worse by sounds of it !
-
Welcome. Nice looking car the GB270 !
-
Dry weather forecast for this week so might see a few "polished the car" posts appearing. Worked on an X5 once, came up stunning eventually but put me off 4x4's for a bit !!! Very hard work. Get your new Disco pics up once its done.

£70 some wee ejit has forced upon you not to mention the hassle of getting it fixed !! Plus, ain't a cool looking in front of his girlfriend driving home with the Ace Ventura "out the side window" stylie.
-
Don't understand that mind set to damage other peoples cars ??? Insurance no cover windscreen damage, not sure the glue fill will work by sounds of it !
-
Nice, very nice ! If I was in the market for a new Scoob, and had the cash, I'd be looking in to one of these for sure, just so nice. Best colour too !
-
Looking good ! Spoiler was one of the first chnages I did as well, why oh why did they have that wee ironing board in the first place ! Alloys stand out well. Bug (excuse the pun) bitten, just gets worse.

Believe there are a few people who post on here I think do/did it as a profession, hope they don't mind me noting their names : blue dragon & scoobyiain. MikeM (not seen him post for a while, think baby due soon??) and myself (bit far away) do it as a spare time hobby now and again. From detailing world a company called xpressvalet (www.xpressvalet.co.uk / lothians & central / 07500043734) cover your area. Disclaimer : I have never used any of the above people for car detailing before - just passing on what info I have !

Yip, I got a good service and price from Skidz when I bought my Rota GRA's & tyres last summer - although it was helped ever so slightly by the Rota distributor messing up delivery, great customer service response from Skidz !
-
Never did see your pb pics Colin - cracking !! Be a shame if you sold up, I'm still trying to get to a Glasgow meet for some detailing chat . On the other hand for a new owner this car is in as good, if not better, nic than when it left the showroom. Not only has it had a professional car detail but Colin also knows a thing or two about car cleaning/care himself - i've tested him ! There is a rumour too that he drives it like the family china is loose in the boot !
-
Flamin other drivers that don't care about other peoples cars !!!!! Not one to buff out, another respray! I like the Scoob in white, but question now is does it just attract other peoples damage or are you just needing to park well away from everyone else !!
-
Nightmare John, you and burgy_51 are having all the bad luck on "not my fault" damage. Your insurance cover the windscreen replacement for £50ish ? The day I picked my Scooby up I remember driving home and a stone skelped the windscreen, the small mark is still there given it wasn't enough to warrant a replacement ! A few choice words used but it happens.

Nearly welcome ! . After your test run with G.Mac sounds like you'll be an owner some time soon !! I have a 2004 WRX and if I'm honest had I the cash at the time and knowing what I know now it would have been an STi I would have gone for. I've spent too much on upgrading performance, springs and styling - had I the same on an STi it would have been a lot less (although we all know it'd have just gone on other things !!) for the current look - swings-n-roundabouts as the STi is more in the first place. Only you know what is important to you with regards to whether : you must have a dealers warranty / if you'd accept high miles for a newer model / do you want to pay a little extra for one with plenty of mods on already / do you want to go a bit older & cheaper so you can add a few mods straightway / etc etc. Just take your time looking at what's available. You have this forum and Scoobynet to check out what's available and more chance the car belongs to an enthusiast. Good luck.

A tough audience....my credit cards taking a pounding cause of this site !! Just give me a shout, try and get you over to the performance enhancing stuff sometime soon as well !!
-
Looking nice Gordon. Ah, two crackin lookin black Blobeyes in the area (st3ph3ns really makes 3!). Keep up the good work fella. I have plenty of STi looking bits on but like your thinking, I think, I don't hide the fact it's a WRX. I'd say you stopped on the Strathaven Road just outside Hamilton before Muttonhole Road - if it is travelled that road MANY a time (if it isn't I need to be more observant to where I'm going ), used to live in Strathaven !!!

Is There Anything Better Than The Return Trip From Andy F's?..........
C_WRX replied to spot2's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Nice write up fella. Good to know the handling works so well. Yet another thing to look at for future improvement ...does it ever stop - don't answer that I already know ! -
Have to admit Cal I have thought in years to come will I just keep buying modern or at some point will I have that 2nd fair weather car that never leaves the garage and is just lovingly restored....hang on that's the Scoob at the moment and getting it to the way it should have been !! Technically, with the classic scoobs more so, is it not a little bit of restoring and modifying at the same time ?? Why have chocolate Subaru OEM suspension when you can get much better more reliable aftermarket kit !
-
Send in a claim, last year my wife got money back for damage to her wheel & tyre. Okay so there's a whooe load of their rules to get past but you never know.
-
After my wife going nuts at how much I spent on the performance upgrades recently I didn't fancy my chances of anything for the car for a while...until I pointed out the splitter on a GB270 which she thought looked nice....and by chance there was a Scoobynet group buy on so not one to miss an opportunity 2 days later - Before: Now: her comment to it fitted - "is that it" ! Made a small mistake on fitting it but with the front getting a respray, including the splitter now, in the near future cause of all the stone chips it'll get dealt with easily then.

Welcome, enjoy. Car looks good.

Two sides to this for me : Not so popular one but explained as best I can - if your car had been pinched and they pulled it over you'd be well happy, once for a quick check surely isn't too much of a hassle. Also reckon they're more interested in you being owner/had a drink/insurance/etc which is a plus finding folk negligent in those things. Other side - pulling your friend over 4 times, if for rubbish reasons, is a bit much. Same with your fiance, she absolutely did the right thing not stopping till the blues went on and even then she should have locked the doors till ID was produced. Even contacting the local station and explaining the story to someone in position there would perhaps help them think before pulling someone over in the middle of nowhere at night with flashing headlights. Their common sense not used there !!! I'm sure there was a boy a few years ago got off with a speeding conviction cause, as I remember the rough story, he had just been threatened in Strathy (I so didn't want to shorten that name but Strathclyde Park is so long winded ) and a few minutes later a car started chasing him on to the motorway, 5 miles later the blues went on and they booked him - court deemed the police waited too long before making him aware who they were.
-
Sorry to hear about your car. Shame on your ex-work "mates" treating your car like that and then keeping quiet about it ....all after you do them a good turn leaving it with them as well.
-
Wash the car very soon, thoroughly over that area, and don't forget to apply some polish to protect.

Not sure at all of the power differences between OEM dp -v- sports cat / decat dp....but everyone I spoke to about it prior to changing my exhaust system, including other owners / folk selling me the parts / AndyF, said to definitely get a decat dp or if the MOT worried me the sportscat dp as it was very much worth it. I changed the whole exhaust system then had the remap so can't comment on the stages difference but I do know that what I have now is VERY different both in power and sound to what it was standard. Yes the money is a sore one when getting a sportscat but it appears to be worth it. You'll end up just wondering "what if" if you don't and need to then get another remap. I am already thinking about the next stage and it wasn't even a month ago !! Andy's site for your car I believe says (below), must be tempting just to go straight to level 2 !! 06-07 STI UK/EURO 2.5 STD 265 BHP Level 1 290-300 bhp Sportscat Exhaust System EcuTek custom remap (compares to PPP) Level 2 340-360 bhp Full Decat turbo back 2.5 " or 3” bore Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump EcuTek custom remap K+N panel filter
