  1. So you saw it over there per chance ? Chances on not getting it dirty on the trip through were slim, but the snow made sure of it ! Tucked back inside now but wayyyyy too cold just now to even think about giving it a quick wash. Was yours there Tuesday evening ?
  2. Oh yes, just a little bit nice, good presence when you see it in the metal up your boot hinting it wants past !!
  3. I heard today that the price of Subaru parts are to go up considerably (as much as 25%), anyone else heard this and/or confirm if it is true ?
  4. Big Gordon - sure I saw you a week or so ago going through Hamilton, in the Was It You section. Colzo - just a smallish change, finally !!
  5. With not really needing the car over the last 7 weeks I decided at the of end-December to give the car its winter detail while I had time to work away as and when could...well that was the plan ! Started off well with a thorough wash, then clayed, then washed again and then inside for the polishing. Car had picked up a few bad marks over the last 5 months so set about correcting most of them with the porter cable and some Menzerna 3.02, some scratches needing wet sanded but I just don't like doing that so only covered a few of the worst ones !! Found I couldn't spend as much time as I'd planned on the car through early weeks between work and other folk wanting their cars done (well two of them!! ) and fell behind the timeline I'd set....then along came baby Lucy so no time left for the car !! Managed over the weekend there to finish off what little of the basic correction was left to an acceptable standard and then a final polish with Menzerna 85RD before adding some nice Blackfire Midnight Sun wax. I've the original wheels on at the moment which I use in the winter, so much prefer the 18's but as they're still immaculate keeping away from any possible damage through winter months. Apologies in advance for the pics, first day out of the garage and its snowing !! Quickly taken in between snow falls, plus I'm not the best with a camera !! You get the idea though, nice clean car - now I've to go out in it tonight to get some work done on it through this week....more to follow on that later this week !
  6. Welcome. Nice ride !
  7. Battery was done. Got AA out, boosted it to start, left for a good while while we chatted cars and bikes, then tried starting it on it's own, not even close. Meant I could get a new battery this morning in time for a week of work on the car !
  8. My car has hardly turned a wheel in the last 6 weeks !! Only started it now and then to move it about the drive. Went out this afternoon and it won't start !!! Seems like the battery to me, had it on charge for a couple of hours but nothing. It clicks and alarm squeaks but that's about it. There's no funny switches that I need to press or anything to reset or anything like that is there ??? Failing all that I think the battery is goosed !?
  9. Nice one, shame you can't get in the drivers seat just yet though !!
  10. In the short time I've been on this forum you'd give any Arnold Clark garage a run for its money the amount of vehicles that go through your ownership !! What you like !!!! Looks okay....but you'll just make it better !
  11. Brilliant bit of editing ScoUK, tears were rolling at that one !!!
  12. I'm liking that, very nice looking vehicle, sparkly clean too. You think with a wee ramp at the end of the pier you could make it to the other side ???
  13. Splitters seem to be a very popular addition just now, quite fancy one myself in near future, adds to the front look rather nicely. Only concern I'd have on lower springs and 18's is the speed bumps and ramps in multi-storeys ! Must say Geo, that does sit nicely on there. Nice to know easy fit. The only thing my wife ever buys me for my car is an air freshner !
  14. From the pics I think you've got yourself a nice car.
  15. Excellent figures. Must feel brilliant to drive now !! Been pulling together a few items to get fitted over the next few weeks but another BIG priority (baby girl) made me stop the spending short of stretching to the bigger turbo / STi intercooler / pink injectors. Maybe one day !
  16. Welcome. Get some pics up when you can !
  17. Looking for suggestions as best place to buy a Walbro Fuel Pump (for newage '04WRX). Lowest price obviously key but also from a reliable source important. Ebay have ones shipped for £75, just wary buying from there.
  18. Sure it's annoying being stopped but if the police think they see a 17 year old in a Scooby maybe a good thing to be mistaken now and then just to make sure they have insurance ! I couldn't dream of affording the insurance when I was young for this type of car and would have never spent all that money on a car not to insure it, don't get that. I was knocked off my ZX6R by an uninsured driver, who didn't live at the address given and who they couldn't find (yes he stopped and the police did attend but didn't do too well that day!) - the hassle and time it took getting all that sorted out !
  19. One of my "most impressed at a car" stories was an Escort Cossie. Many years ago when I were a young lad, was just leaving 30 zone and I'm 3rd in the traffic queue I see in my mirror 2 cars back an Escort Cossie pull out to overtake. Perfectly safe and he's just cruising past everyone. A decent bit ahead a car appears round the corner coming the other way. As the Cossie pulls level with me he obviously was a little concerned so drops a gear (maybe even two!! ) and disappears to the front of the queue - even to this day I'm still sooo impressed by it - the noise, the acceleration compared to most cars about at that time.
  20. In my younger days Funniest : Many years ago...sitting on (think) my ZXR400 at a set of traffic lights (which led out on to national limit before anyone thinks this was in town) when a Vauxhall Nova with 4 even younger boys pulls up along side. The driver completely seriously says "so you think you could take this". Me with visor down (and tinted) cooly says nothing, clicks in to gear and revs a little to the rather girly excitement of the Nova passengers. Thought I'd toy a little - let him off the lights first, kept just behind/at side of him (the boys inside really thought they were winning), gradually pulled up along side the drivers window, looked over, waved (he genuinely seemed surprised I kept up) and pulled back full throttle - bye ! Got off the bike a mile down the road before they drove passed for a wave...think passengers were still laughing at the driver !! Worst : My Civic Type-R getting beaten by, what I later found out to likely be though, a Corsa with a 2.0l lump in it. The guy was driving like a man with a death wish though with some extra stupid manouvers so didn't join in. Worst outcome : A71 Strathaven to Kilmarnock. Me in Calibra V6 and company car man in either Cavalier or Vectra. Spirited drive along the straights and through the twists, he's right up my boot, in to traffic and he pulls out to have a look at overtaking on a bend, not seeing the oncoming traffic the side of his car gets scraped big time by car in other direction. Stopped to see he was okay, he was about 50 and rather embarrassed looking.
  21. Aye, dirty tar spots. Autoglym tar remover should be a good easy to find product for the job, e.g. Halfords. Claying will also work if you have a bar. Don't forget to give the area(s) a wee polish after.
  22. First off, Happy New Year everyone, hope it's a good one. Interested in what folks have up their sleeves for their 2009's mod list - whether it be power, body or interior, handling, brakes and so on ? I know some like to keep it a secret so fair enough if that's the way. If I kick off - start off the year from more or less standard power getting the exhaust de-catted (sports dp for MOT time) and a touch of AndyF's magic. After that I think I'll look towards handling.
  23. Andy got back to me on 31st so if he hasn't already sure you're not far away from a reply. Also said that 30th Jan onwards for current booking slots!
  24. I'm looking for a dirty bit in that engine bay.....nope, can't see one !!! Liking the look of that must admit !
  25. Happy New Year everyone.
