  1. Much appreciated and good answer. Adds to what I (and others I'm sure) thought. Cheers.
  2. So your drive about yesterday was more enjoyable ? (you mentioned no chance day fitted and you had time off yesterday!)
  3. I have a basic understanding of what each item does, so I'll be the one to ask for those that are thinking it : If someone would be so kind could you detail what each items purpose is, and going from least to all being done what is the suggested fitment order ? Things like "no point getting something done without something else being done at the same time" or "can get rear but not at same time necessary for front" would be great info. Thinking road use, track perhaps a little much. Anti-Roll Bar front & rear. Drop links front & rear. Anti-Lift Kit. Fast road geometry settings. Lowering springs. Anything else I may have missed.
  4. Really like those Oz wheels. Will keep an eye out for you now.
  5. Nice work, lookin good. Tiling or polish the car....tiling or polish the car.....wasn't too difficult to decide on. When the weathers good who wants to be stuck inside anyway !!
  6. Nice to see everyone putting the effort in keeping their chariots clean - better drier weather helps. As soon as I get the new house in order I'm going to join in the cleanfest and get the pc out to remove the winters scratches and swirls from my own.
  7. Reckon just leaving it out in the rain would help !
  8. Very nice indeed, engine looks lovely. Nearly sold....good idea not selling it !
  9. Was in the wifes car not my own so you wouuldn't have paid much attention to it.
  10. NKWRX - Car is looking good, liking the grill set and the alloys go well on it. Shame the bits you're getting done can't be seen though but sure the drive will be a lot better !! Using a wash mitt doesn't make you look gay, unless of course the one you have is pink and you have a pair of colour matching marigolds on !! Honest though, a lambswool mitt and a good quality car wash liquid and it's actually easier to wash the car not to mention the all important reduction in scratching/swirls. Since I started getting in to the detailing thing I've now got the rest of my family using the same products as me to wash their cars cause they all agree from trying it out that it is so much easier and better for the car.
  11. Think I've seen the detailed pics of the wagon before...still looks good. You also were in the process of building up brownie points with your family members doing their cars too if I recall. Hello and welcome to here.
  12. Saw a few Scoobys on my travels down the west coast over the last few days. Some noticeable ones : Monday night in a small fishing village called, I think, Maidens a black or dark coloured classic with a SUB private plate - looked good from the 50m away I was. Tuesday early morning strategically park side on to catch everyones attention in Turnberry (outside clubhouse) a blue decal'ed up newage - plain body but very noticeable with the Subaru stickers and numbered door (24 I think). Tuesday evening a nice blue newage STi in Darvel (I think, always get those towns along that stretch mixed up). Anyone on here ?
  13. Think I've seen that classic also, youngish guy drives it (I say that with me being older), was down by the Asda area. Notice a few in Hamilton also, but as of yet none of the folks on here don't think....and no waves (although I do kinda wait to be waved at before waving myself !). A polite scooby driver let me out of the Shell garage in heavy traffic couple of months back, he got a wave, but more of a thanks. So that's st3ph3n, Big Gordon and rednosespeccltd to look out for.
  14. Hello, and welcome. Nice example, with next to no miles too. No changes planned....so far ! Give it time. You'll get the comments of "lower it", "detango it" and so on, all of which help it look/feel that bit better. If it wasn't PPP'd the list would go on. Enjoy.
  15. Welcome, enjoy yourself. 04' WRX owner myself, not called Paul though. Get some pics up soon as you can then, give us a look.
  16. So is no-one going to mention the obvious jokes ?? Would feel a bit of a t*t with one of those fitted ? Apologies in advance, or is it only me that found that funny !?! Will i get in to trouble now !?
  17. Although some touches on the Redbull car that weren't too bad....but the colour is back to what you had !! The strips down the sides of the bonnet for example catch the eye but not over-powering. Mix-n-match.
  18. Thought your original decals were fine, so not antidecals just not for the new ones....so far. Fair enough, if you're determined to go for it, good on you for sticking to your guns, maybe instead of some more "no's" start offering some possible suggestions from what you had ? How's about think again about keeping the orange, not the nicest flavour, maybe even a different shade of orange ?? I saw a few months ago a carbon fibre scoop for sale that had WRC on the top of it, looked very nice, so how's about something on the scoop (not necessarily WRC) that you don't mind staring at when you're driving. What about reducing the size of the banners at the top of the windscreen/rear window ? Sometimes a bit less can have a better effect ?? Just a few small suggestions to play with to get this to work for you ?
  19. Have a 2004 WRX myself, was last August changed the front discs & pads. Asked the same question on here and to ASPerformance. Same reply from all. If it is for road use with type of power upgrade you're looking at doing then will be fine with OE discs and upgrade the pads. I went with Pagid RS421's which have been fine (huge difference first time pressed the brake pedal), but there are other types available that are much same price and as good. Think was advised not to go for red and/or yellow pads but not 100% sure about that.
  20. A straight fit, just remove the WRX surrounds and fit the STi covers on - takes a whole minute each side to do ! Think I got mine from Scoobyworld. Mine went from this (fog light you're obviously looking at) : to (just the fog cover to focus on): to recently this : Decals came off very easily after warming up the lettering with a hair dryer and picking off with finger nail...straight forward as that.
  21. Can't say the review made me want to even test drive one. Only real positive point was by the other two presenters at the end where they noted what other car can you get your family from 0-60 in around 5seconds for £25k....but really, who wants to do that to their family ! I quite liked the Scirroco myself, so it's not as fast as the STi but the GTi has always got good write up's but this makes it look better (here's hoping they've changed the seats material design), as long as you don't have tall people in the back. Can see sales of 3door GTi's slumping, perhaps not as much as WRX's though.
  22. Back to you Gus (search the threads and Gus has pics and everything). Maybe here : http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...&hl=detango
  23. An old neighbour of mine, in his 50's, was waiting patiently in a car park for a car to come out of a space when a guy just drove in to it - words exchanged (non were abusive from the neighbour or so he says!!) and the ignorant space stealer and his son then beat neighbour up. They thought just driving off would get them off with it but both the neighbour and a passer by got his plate (obviously not the brightest father/son pairing !) - police caught up with them and they were charged with GBH, despite saying they were never in the car park but CCTV and an independant witness said differently. It was a parking space for goodness sake !!!!
