  1. Think you're right oobster. One things for sure, you know it'll have been kept clean while he owned it!!
  2. That could be what I think is maybe missing sticker wise Gus, how about continuing the stickers on the doors to go on to the rear bumper and front bumper slightly.... bit like above ?
  3. I quite like that.....although room for one or two more stickers without it looking too much perhaps ? Is the red along the side a different shade, maybe just the way it's came out on the pics or there's a reflection?? Quite an obvious personal touch going on there, like that. Maybe change the wheel colour - not red before that's suggested !
  4. Could folk post up pics of the mudflaps they have on their cars and where they got them from, considering looking in to a new set for my car as the OEM Subaru ones are looking a bit tired. I have a newage which will likely make a difference
  5. Welcome. Car sounds nice.....you might have got the hint about getting some pics up !
  6. Over the last 2 years I've gone through much the same. Low mileage and had it serviced each year / 10k miles by Subaru while still under warranty but when due next year I will go the independant route. Also had it in at its 3year service to be checked over before the warranty ran out - but guess anyone could do that for you. Sure I read it on here that it is worth while having the oil changed half way between services (6 months or 5k miles) so I get that done too. Can't remember how much I paid last time but it is at least half of your stealers quote....come to think of it my last yearly service wasn't too far away from that price, they might have mis-quoted??
  7. Just another example of how we are short changed over here - magic, thanks for pointing that out Mike ! Can't help but think how much better UK Subaru dealerships would do with the ability to do all that for enthusiasts - but then their reply is likely to go on about all the problems it can cause on warranty claims blah blah blah !
  8. Nice work there Mike, expect nothing else from you now nowadays ! And that looks like your nice new STi in the background there, looks cracking. Playsatan2 - total pain when the car looks as good as that and then the stone chips show up - but on the good side your car looks brilliant. Honestly not too much work to keep it looking like that. For the next month even just a wash and it'll look almost as good every time, then every few weeks top up with a wipe over of some final protection product.
  9. Any expensive day out then - detail and foam lance cost a bit ! Well worth it though given the results. I use Werkstatt Acrylic on all of the cars I work on, other than my own with gets the Blackfire treatment. For your car colour Werkstatt is an excellent choice...but I'm sure pb already told you that !
  10. Aye, no bad Colin, nearly as good as my effort !!!! Been waiting for this thread, bet you were well pleased with their work, shame such a long drive back !! Keep that shine now - no doubt you left with a product or two as well !
  11. Nice one. Welcome !
  12. Welcome. Enjoy yourself !
  13. Turning out to be a trial tracking down a replacement !! Unless you know where the spoiler came from then don't want to bother you with the measuring. Search continues !! Oh aye, and the cars lookin good !
  14. Gus, Did you fit the spoiler since you got the car ? On my STi8 replica spoiler some of the LED lights have broken and I'm looking for a whole replacement LED bar section, and that looks a similar size. If you did could I ask for the measurements and where you got it from. Can send me a note rather than clogging up this thread if you want. Before anyone suggests asking Subaru for an original one - it costs over £200, yes just for the brake light section !! Cheers.
  15. Hello, welcome, enjoy, and get some pics up fella.
  16. Just renewed mine a few weeks ago, stayed with Keith Michaels after trying numerous other places. Moley seems best to get there, if you don't already have this number try it for him - 02083291167.
  17. Personally think the older/last style format is more obvious as a private plate (bias opinion perhaps as I have one!!), and usually a lot cheaper cheaper than £1k !
  18. I can't recommend anyone as I do my own/family/friends cars but recently there was a company working out of Larkhall advertising quite a bit - but I have NO idea if they are any good ?? OBT or ABT...something like that. Depending on what you had wanted done I could've helped out not being that far away, but given there's not much time till the Gathering it's a bit tight for me plus you're looking for someone to come to you. Kinda a hobby like thing before you think I do this as a profession !!
  19. Need new wiper blades. 2004 Impreza. Bosch currently on it have been okay, but is there better out there ? Have heard that Aero Blades and PIA are good, but are they worth the money -v- Bosch. Also be good to know best (i.e. cheapest ) place to buy from !
  20. Welcome. Nice looking car.
  21. Mike - is that a sponge in amongst all that !!! Tut tut, you should know better ! I've seen your posts and I think you can move out of the amatuer status now Mike, how about Intermediate ? Especially when you buy a paint gauge, that ain't a cheap amateurs piece of equipment!! A rediculous amount of cleaning equipment - good man !!!
  22. The spoiler is both screwed and a little bonded on. I am reckoning that the bar will be screw on to the underside of the spoiler so all I have to do is replace that piece of it (wires attached) screw back in place and re-fit spoiler, but, once the spoiler is off I'd prefer to have the new bar ready to go on.
  23. Subaru say that the brake light comes with the whole spoiler only, perhaps can be changed over but they don't sell separately. Definately the lights, can see through the lense. Think replacing the LED's would be tough/messy. Dug out my old WRX spoiler and it is a sealed unit, would expect same from this. Different shape bar from WRX spoiler...that'd have been too much like good luck to be able to use that one !!!!
  24. There are one or two on here that may be able to offer their professional services, e.g Iain. Just class myself as a beginner with it as a hobby having just finished my own marathon effort but so happy when it looks soo clean and shiny !! If no luck with folks on here or distance is still an issue could look on detailingworld. Remember get the pics up when you've had it done, well as long as you're happy with it !!
  25. Nice ! You spent the last few hours looking for that, or is it one you have on file for such strange occasions !! I know it'll make no sense to some people, but I'd prefer to have one there and working, even if money has to be spent getting it so.
