  1. Surely the fact you left your keys has nothing to do with it though. Keys are stolen everyday and cars written off, and payouts happen. How were you to know that he was gonna drive it!? Gutted for you mate
  2. Ball joints and rod ends fail. Like said above mate, it gives you the full package when upgrading all parts i.e coilovers whiteline but its not a major must.
  3. Welcome back to the fold mate. I used to have a Silver Wagon, and funnily enough your front end looked like my rear (not literarly).
  4. It aint like you to be annoyed by tailgaters Richie...pfffft. Shoulda stopped and asked him if he'd like to save fuel by loading his van in the boot.
  5. That sucks bigstyle mate. Nothing worse as well, ive been there...
  6. Yeah what paint did you use. I prefer a "Matt" finish.
  7. Strange, thats where I load all of my photos in here from. Uploaded one a couple days ago and all was well...
  8. Thats the one I'd have. White is amazing for a classic. My ideal would be an STi Wagon in white. Lovely car mate.
  9. Cars looking great Keira. Classic wagons are amazing.
  10. Hmm looks good, but not thanks. Retro fit hawkeye parts then pay 5k over the odds for a 2001!?
  11. Fit for purpose is a grey area, he asked for a car and got a car yes but do the parts that were supposed to be upgraded make the car dangerous or just not what you've paid for? The fraud lies in the car spec. I would be gaining gearbox spec serial numbers, diff numbers shaft etc and build yourself a case. Whoever now owns leasing rights to the car needs to be contacted and notified of these problems, even if they are willing to do nowt. Just to have it recorded for case. At this point of time I would see this car as being "modified" and should be very cautious with your insurance as well. Just because Subaru rebuilt it doesnt mean its standard spec. To an insurance company, the specified parts for a WRX are'nt in your car therefore the lesser parts in place make it higher risk which I'm sure your insurance would like to know about. My personal advice is go all out and make a huge stink about this. Most people will say it, but never follow through. Threaten media action. No car company, especially now needs a "quality control" scare over their brand ESPECIALLY one which may prove so damaging. Good luck guys.
  12. Here here...legends never die
  13. Ive had small plates on a few cars, couple of cars ive had them on... ...not one issue.
  14. Certainly sounds like it "D". I would be trying to find out if the car has been mapped.
  15. Probably because he has sold it for the cash! Your stuck with his debt and he has the money you could've had for your Scooby. I reckon your stuck with this one mate.
  16. Do iiiitttttt...ddddddddooooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttt!!! Next time we're on the washboard we won't have to worry about clunking! I think you'll be that bit more confident with the car when it has a tailor made setup.
  17. 54 Plate Saab Aero Hirsch with full Aero Kit... ...strangely enough I have one here...
  18. I'll be dropping the other half at work there tomorrow around that time, I'll let you know.
  19. Could stick blue stripes down it and it would be Welsho's evil twin!!
  20. I would've done it, but I've got to attend the Saltex Show in London next week with work. Richie said he would do it...
  21. Unlucky! Lad in my work from Kinross has been snapped 6 times, everytime he bins the letter. Never had a follow-up nor conviction. Lucky sod
  22. Have you ckecked the engine for compression!? If your going to strip the heads, go over them with a fine tooth comb to make sure nothing is cracked. As far as re-mapping goes, I doubt the modifications you've done would affect the engine.
  23. Evo's are known for oversteer, scooby's are known for under. Uprating anti-roll bars and bushes, replacing standard or prodrive suspension with coilovers to help sort the understeer out. Having the geometry set for the driving style you wish to use the car for. It's not dramatic understeer like putting 300hp through a front wheel drive, its more at "that point" of hard driving.
  24. You've answered your own question mate. Yes AND No. If your in search of great power, you need better cooling. By redirecting that stray air into the radiator you are optimising flow and gaining efficient cooling. Its sort of like buying a large FMIC and then not doing anything else to the car, just having it because the buyer thinks it looks better when its doing hee haw for the cars performance. If you think it looks good buy it, but dont expect it to change anything as a stand-alone.
  25. After being in the car trade, I would never buy a car brand new of it being released within 3 years. New cars are tested and tested but the real test comes when the car goes out and is used and abused by the public. Common faults are noted by dealer garages and bigger issues develop into recalls and problems are started to be solved. These issues are resolved on average over a period of...tada, youve guessed it...3 years. Your situation really does suck to be honest, to have so many issues with a new car shouldnt be put up with and ultimately at this point I would be rejecting the car. Youve been supplied a car that isn't fit for the purpose that it was designed for. Basically its faulty and up to the dealer you bought it from to pursue, I would be seeking compensation of somekind. What dealer are you going through. S&S or Halley's.
