  1. Car looks cracking mate, not a fan of the colour usually but the K-Force wheels settle it a lot.
  2. Congratulations Robert, if you need a hand organising anything... ...Richie said he'd help.
  3. Congrats!!! Great looking car.
  4. Ive never heard so much noise fron the road!! Was it just loose!? Vids were good, just shows you how much punishment the gravel has handed to your tyres.
  5. Scottish Scoobies in Paisley is your friend for an exhaust, also any other parts you need.
  6. If your in doubt over the car take a few pics when you go to see it and post em up. They might be cheaper to buy now, but are'nt cheap when they go bang and it will if it's been thrashed. Jap cars will last a long time, but only if well looked after. The wheel strike me as the boyracers choice and the "could do with a map" concerns the **** out of me. How long has it been that way!? Part history...!?? What's your budget mate. I'm sure with all the enthusiasts and knowledge on here, we could find you a decent car.
  7. Give it a good boot and make sure the car boost's. Lots of issues can arise from no or low boost. Rust tends to start on the rear arches, try and slide your finger through the rear linings to see if it has started on the inside of the metal. If its a UK car then fuelling should be fine, if Jap import the car needs to have been fuelled for UK RON 95-98. If I remember, 97-99 ECU had to be replaced to change the mapping so youll be looking at an APEXI Power FC and controller or something similar will have been fitted. As said above, listen for hard rattles or taps. Check belts and tensions, timing is easy its right at the front. Of cats have been removed, if a private sale ask for them if possible. Emissions are high at MOT and most likely it will fail. No questions too stoopid, just ask!
  8. Lookin good Rich. Very professional fitting! If anyone is thinking of fitting the splitter, the holes are already there and it supplies you with nuts, bolts and washers. There are 7 holes in total. 3 at the front of the splitter, 2 on the outer edge of the splitter each side and 2 right at the end of the splitter each side. 3 at the front and 2 at the ends lined up. The other 2 didnt. I chose not to drill holes for those as they seemed to be a tad irrelevant. 2 extra holes were drilled through the splitter to tighten the fit. Splitter was pushed back into a better seating, holes were drilled and new retaining bolts, nuts and washers fitted.TADA! Never used any sealant as a lot of people had suggested, possibly just a case of redrilling like I did. *There are plastic pop rivets on the underside of the bumper that hinder fitting. These can be removed by using a flat screwdriver.
  9. The cage will stay fitted between the pocket and the plastic of the dash!?
  10. I don't know mate. Everyone said that about the congestion charge, but the ripple of that never touched us. Congestion charges have'nt worked the way they wanted in London, figures for traffic are up on when it was first introduced. All this is, is another stab at trying to cut congestion I reckon. COUGH SPLUTTER STEALTH TAX
  11. I'm partial to a redhead these days. Reckon cos I'm getting sick of bottled blondes...
  12. Well thats a new one on me...BESTiality!? Im off to search Speciality.
  13. Bloody hell, surely that was in spellcheck!
  14. Scooby PC PS3 Nikon Blondes. That was hard!
  15. Everytime I'm asked where I'm from, they seem to get confused and ask me if i've got Furry Boots!?!
  16. Solenoid is gubbed mate.
  17. Come on, you guys in the East have the gay accent...
  18. So ok I'm in! One small problem, half of the photos are *ahem* 980 MB, which is 880 MB over the allowance. Anyone know how I can squeeze them down!?
  19. Hey Imy, yeah that sounds like a good idea!! Completely willing to air them online for all to share. Ive sent a cpntact request via FlickR
  20. Bobby seems as if he's been there an bought the t-shirt with the website. Is it not better spending £12 and getting half an answer than being left wondering and not having an answer at all?! Consultations with lawyers are usually 100 folding papers an hour and will only give you half an answer, the other half will cost another 100... ...and yes I have had experience with the barstewards.
  21. I noticed a couple of members on here putting photos forward for competition so I decided to stick one up from The Gathering. I dont have so much as a problem, but more of a wondering!? Ive got around 130-150 Gathering photos on my laptop, all pretty good quality (SLR) and I sort of feel bad about never giving anyone the chance to get copies of the pictures. These pics hold memories for everyone that travelled down there. I'm sure that anyone who looks at them will relate to something, and feel the lump in their throat rise, so... If you would like copies of the photos drop me a line, or maybe theres just one in particular you would like. Silly post I know, but I feel it a shame that they're laying on my computer dorment when they could be shared! Stewarty
  22. I reckon as a forum if someone has had a bad experience then members feel they should vent it, so that the issue can be avoided in future. Even if you just need to politely ask at service if the mechanic can give the car a quick lookover. No badmouthing has really gone on mate, it does show up the tech that worked on the car a bit but we all know that Grieves is a good garage and this issue alone is definately not strong enough to avoid the place.
  23. Not one for rocking the boat, but surely something like an air filter should be checked Gav. Going from the motor trade into the agricultural trade, as a mechanic I know its just common sense if not from an "upselling" point of view that a quick check around the car in "consumable" areas like air filter, belts etc should be given a quick going over as standard practice. I know Grieves do good work, from the way members post about the garage. I suppose you can only put this down to a one-off.
  24. I'm sure Badbaz is the Lanarkshire RO now. Have a look in the events section mate. Glasgow is a good meet, as I know the lads from Lanarkshire head through for it.
  25. UHOH! Yeah someone hasnt bothered their hole checking that, probably because it aint on the list of things to change. Not really what you would call "taking the initiative"
