  1. I am 29 with 7 years no claims protected, with missus on as named driver. Renewed today through A Plan. Keith michaels were over 90 more than them. MY00 UK Turbo with SS Exhaust. £481. I found both Priveledge and Elephant gave good quotes but only with a Tracker. And the cost of subscribing to that outweighs the cost that you might save on insurance. Plus the time the police track down the motor its stripped in a yard anyway! Dave
  2. The tracker seems to knock about 200 off my quotes with them. Plus six points is going to add about 20% I would have thought.
  3. Well, after a week of intense searching the web and making phone calls, its A-Plan that I got the best quote from by far, and nearly £100 less than Keith Michaels. £481 for MY00 UK Turbo, with Centre Decat and SS Exhaust, no points and seven years no claims, 29 year old, plus the missus as named driver. Unfortunately I do not have a tracker fitted, as both Privledge and Elephant were under £300 if I did. Tried to tell the guy they should think of giving a discount to SIDC members as they would get a lot of business. Said he would say to his boss.
  4. The guy is spot on in Falkirk mate. He really does a good job and explains everything he is doing. Welsh - Like the other posts I take it the Glasgow rep is not the best. Should come to central and use that one! []
  5. Dude.....what did you expect? £20? lol! They basically repaired my 1 inch scratch(down to the metal) then resprayed the whole wing for £78 for me. I had a quote from a bodyshop of £200 to fix it at the time.
  6. I used them for a nasty dent and scratch on my wing. Done a excellent job, would never know it was there. Quite amazing. Plus he filled all the stone chips on my bonnet for nothing. The were very reasonable and I had a good chat with him while he done it. Defo recommend them mate. Dave
  7. All I am due to renew my insurance and dont want to stay with Barclays as my premium has went up for some unknown reason. I remember a thread a while back where a particular broker was mentioned and his number was quoted. Can anyone remember of know who this was and supply? Any other recommendations on good quotes without a tracker? Cheers Dave
  8. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/038CE95...8AD00BC1E2B.htm Never heard of it, but looks and sounds the business!
  9. My mate just got new discs and pads on his TT, after getting his new polished 19" alloys. My mechanic mate asked for the Red Stuff pads, but was advised by the shop to go for the Green Stuff as Red creates lots of dust. I had to drive it back from the garage as he was offshore at the time and what a difference the ceramic pads make. Stopped about 5 meters short of the first junction I came to! [:$] Going to get them on my car on its next service in Feb!
  10. That may be true Craig, but I cant remember the last really cold morning we have had. Pretty mild these days.[] I have been using the 15-50 Motul for over 20k now and cant fault it.

  12. Cheers guys He is booking it in for a new decent exhaust at Hypertech next week so I told him to get it plugged in to be safe. Hopefully its just a dodgy sensor or something.
  13. My knowledge is nearly as bad as yours Paul. lol What does CEL mean. Is this the engine warning light?
  14. My brother in law has a 2000 Bugeye WRX. He just called me to say a amber light lit up on his dash then went off a little while later. He does not know what it is, and is worried. He is still on the road and called to see if I knew, but mine is a classic and a different dash. He said it was just above his petrol gauge, and said it looked like a engine. Dont know if the engine warning lights are diff in the classic and original new age. Can anyone help here, and clear this up? Cheers Dave
  15. I aint no expert but both AWD and Hypertech recommend Motul 15-50. These are experts, so thats always been my choice. Gives more protection when still warming up and withstands better high temperatures apparently. Also, if you are doing the change yourself, then ensure you fill the filter several times and crank the engine before starting! Advice from Duncan at Hypertech to me!![]
  16. Glad you are pleased. Thought about it myself about 5 months ago, but with my milage being over 90k, to paranoid it will blow up! Andy F assured me it would be ok, but still paranoid! Could not afford a new engine! Still think about it regularly though![H]
  17. Aye, thought that. Was a little connfused on the inboard footage theu put on it from McRae. He goes off twice, hits a tree and then wrecks the front! You would have thought that they would have put a faultless stage on!
  18. Yes, thats the one. Dave
  19. Motul 50-15 is the only oil I would use.[] Dont make the mistake of going to Halford as they recommend Mobil1 0-40. I got it in good faith, but it is as thick as water. Had it wipped out a couple of days later after talking to Duncan at Hypertech. Got my money back though!
  20. Ouch. Sore one. Hope you have better luck in the New Year mate. Dave
  21. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/97deb6c...8a000e624d4.htm Quite amusing video of a Skyline v a WRX in America. I particularly like it when the guy tries to jump in the scooby through the window!
  22. Hey all Online for 1st time since Christmas! Hope U all had a good one. Santa, or my bro in law got me a DVD on the Scooby. Very good, all about the classic and the original history. Anyway, at the start I was surprised to see its at Knockhill at a SIDC day. There are lots of shots and cars, so I was wondering if any of you guys knew the dvd, was anyone here in it and does anyone want a copy? Dave
  23. Martin I have seen you on Knockhill, you sure you need a fast car?? ha ha[]

  25. Focus ST mate. You will not find a motor journalist including Clarkson with a bad word to say about the ST. The chassis is meant to be amazing and give a STI a real run for its money on a dry track! Has a bit of pressence as well!
