Attacked by another Subaru Driver......
david_taylor replied to oz *sti*'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
Man thats real scary. Glad you are ok and got away. Watched a programe the other night about the anti car jacking window film. Think they said it cost 200 pound. Might be interested in it now! I only rive in town at rush hours in the City Centre, but feck taking a chance. -
It would be a M3 for me. If I got rid of the scoob that would be my next choice. My mate had a M Tech and I really liked the car. Pulled good and surprisingly good handeling for a RWD. I have heard more bad things about the evos that good. My friend was telling me the windows flap at high speed and they are cheap as on the interior. Even more so than subaru. Dave

Cheers for the offer. Black sounds the best idea and looks good on Marky TS's car. Not to bad at the spray painting since my 1st car which I done years ago. Shed of a Nova and had to do some amount of bodywork to sort it! My mate runs a garage up in Bonnybridge and the guy next door said I can use his spray gun. Not a fan of the decals, but hope you get some business through the site.

No offence taken mate. As for the fire service probably agree. My mate is a fireman and only striked as he felt he had to. It was the old school that wanted it. They dont want to lose the second jobs they all have as they only do a 4 day week, and the proposals were taking that away. As the other emergency services say, the fire brigade are the spoilt brats of the emergency services. Saying that they do a sterling job and with modernisation, resolve all the problems for the future hopefully.

Tell you what. Let Parcelforce take over your everyday mail and then see what your opinion is after a few months. You would be begging for the Royal Mail to do the business again. They are entitled to a decent payrise. These guys work crazy anti social hours is all weather conditions and I think the offer on the table is shocking! Unfortunately the big wigs are more interested in profit margins as apposed to the rise their staff deserve. The offer the now to a standard postie amounts to less than 50 pound a month.

Car exploded at Glasgow airport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
david_taylor replied to corsa's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Its just as well both this device and the ones found in London have been pretty crude. I think these are most likely poorly funded extremists. Just glad nobody has been hurt. -
Fair enough, but the royal mail would never leave anything lying about in a garden or put it through a open window twice. The main point I made when complaining was that if there was an electrical fire under that window they could have set fire to the place. I am sure no mail service has 100% accuracy with there service but Parcelforce have had 3 parcels to deliver to me and fecked them all up. I have never had a poor experience from the Royal Mail.
-
Will never use them again. Last three parcels have been a disaster. First they left one in the neighbours garden and it was stolen, and the last two they put through the neighbours window thinking it was my house! Stick to the Royal Mail for me!

Been wanting to detango the car for a while, so got LED side repeaters on yesterday. Only 15 pound on ebay! Also got the etch effect stickers from Gus yesterday so got them on to. Have ordered the crystal indicators, so detango should be complete early next week. Got to admit it transforms the look of the car. Dave

what are the pro`s and con`s of a dump valve please
david_taylor replied to willie25's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I had a dump valve on my old RS Turbo, and to be honest I felt no difference. I think you have to be running a really high boost for it to work properly. Well you did on the Escort. After a while the noise done my nut in and I took the valve off the car. Never been tempted to put one on my Scooby after that. Dave -
Alright mate. I am in Carronshore, and have a 00 Classic turbo, pretty same as yours except not a wagon. Defo got to get it de tangoed. I got crustal LED side repeaters on today. 15 notes from ebay. What a difference to the look that makes. Going to jump on and get the crystal ones for the bumper now to! No doubt see you around. Dave

A Plan for me. There quote was over 80 notes less than Keith Michaels!

Fans of Colin McRae Rally (the game that is)

Not one to blow my own trumpet, but I posted the video previews to this on the forum about 3 months ago[H] Cant wait. Going to go for the PC version for the best graphics. My nice new graphics card will work nicely with this I think! Dave -
Interesting Topic on the BBC website >>
david_taylor replied to ~ ~ Cal ~~'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
I agree the guy seems to be a reasonably good driver, and does not appear to take any major risks. However, he clearly breaks the speed limit, so the press and police will always have the moral high ground. I think it only means trouble posting these sort of vids on the net when people are pushing their cars on public open roads. Would not do it myself, but I have to admit I always like a look![] Dave -
You dont get much back in return anyway. I reckon I have spent around 1.5 to 2k on fuel over a year, and the best I could get in return was a £15 Halfords voucher! Tried to register there again, and it would not let me in. I have emailed them to get it reset and also asked if its true about having to redeem your current points. Dave

Here is a pic of my car by the way so we can keep a look out for each other, plus one of my bro in laws(Double Zero) as he is local to!

Thats terrible news mate. Sorry to see that, but at least all are okay. Think she will be getting 100% of the blame there anyway! Dave

Could be your gear box on the way out, hope not though. Not much of a mechanic, so can only suggest the obvious![]

I would have thought the mast thing as well. Have you tried entering your pin number into the keypad to by pass the imobiliser to confirm whether thats the problem. Other than that I think a quick visit to your local Subaru dealer and get them to plug it in a do a diagnostic test would be worth it. Dave
