About lok-stock

  1. For what it's worth here is my view,I have had 5 Impreza's now starting from a 2.0 GX sport,WRX's to a My06 STi, I traded the STI because I thought it was really hard work. So in short the I had the best looking & best performing Scoob however I thought hard to live with in every day life. I traded the STI, 1 year after purchasing in April this year and bought an A3 ,After 4 months driving a new Audi A3 I traded that for a new 2.5 Hawk Eye in white and I have to say that has been good for me. One of the old salesman @ Town & County always said to me that the best Impreza was a WRX with a PPP. Food for thought. Happy hunting. Cheers. Rob.
  2. Thanks for the help and info guys,I have adjusted the bracket so that the unit sits a bit more forward than the old Kenwood unit, only part left to do now is make the opening slightly bigger so that the flip front does not catch on the trim. Stanley knife & dremel should do the rest as long as I have a steady hand, thanks again I will let you know how it goes. Cheers Rob.
  3. Hi Guys, as the heading suggests I have purchased a new doudle din head unit for MY07 WRX,fitting could not be easier as the old brackets fit perfect and the new unit has been supplied with ISO fit wiring kit. Here where the problem starts - the new unit is around 3 mm bigger and requires to sit outside of the existing fascia,(which you can guess by now is too small). Anyone out there made any mods to overcome this problem? pictures and advice would be most welcome. Cheers Rob...
  4. Looking good Pete, I was looking at pics of your Scoob last year when it was silver, cannot believe the difference, black is almost as nice as white...LOL Rob...
  5. Picked it up today, really pleased how it looks. cheers Rob...
  6. As the heading says, anyone know of any good insurance companies that do not require one of these to be fitted?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> My current insurer wants one to be fitted but it's just another expense if you ask me, after fitting 3 in last 5 years and paying the annual subscription it just becomes a bit tiresome. Appreciate any feedback. Cheers. Rob.
  7. Well after 4 months of the A3 TDi I have just purchased a new 2.5 WRX in white, extras so far include a cool new uk 300 style rear spoiler.I thought when I traded MY06 STI that I could get by without the heavy fuel bills and just move on but always remain a fan. Aparently not the A3 has indeed better build quality and great fuel consumption but thats not everything and after looking at the greatly reduced new hawk eye prices temtation got the better of me and you know the rest. I thought that it would be easy to move from the faithful brand but I guess that 4 impreza's since 2001 have proved to be different. Should get it by the 30th,once the new spoiler is panted & fitted, pics to follow. Good to be back. Rob...
  8. Not as yet, cant understand why the old profile would not load,I think that I will drop a line to the admins to see if they could fix it for me though. cheers Rob.
  9. Ok the debate is open,I was across at T&C this week and noticed an 06 STI type UK ,same as mine with its wheels done in a nice anthracite colour, kind of got mr thinking that the P1 look might work on my STI in WR blue instead of the usual gold. Anyone tried out either of these options?if so where, cost, any pics, ect. Rob...
