Thanks guys... ordered. Cheers, Grant

Do we have a pic of these, or a link to a pic of these?? Also, has anyone confirmed if these are big made or 'normal' made..... for those of us waiting to hear about whether to order in our normal size.. or maybe knock it down a size. Cheers, Grant

IMO with that power level, you WILL do a gearbox if you use your car properly Craig... which means around £3k to sort that out properly. Ok, it would be a one-off payment, but 3k is a lot of money that you wont see again unless you split your car and put it back to standard once you come to sell it. If you have serious love for the Imprezas then stick with it, if you arent totally into the brand then I'd go straight for the EVO, absolute no-brainer mate... its just an extremely well sorted package straight out of the box. If you budget for an expensive multi-plate cluch 'when' it goes (this is a known weak point), then you shouldnt have any problems with the EVO.. a de-cat and remap will see a 340 up near a genuine 400bhp and 400lb/ft. I think I'm right in saying that the MR has different head/cams and some extra aluminium panels over the normal GT/FQ stuff...... but I'm sure the salesman can take you through that. For the record, I've had Imprezas for years.. so when I looked at buying new, I went for the more familiar Impreza..... mainly because I knew I'd enjoy it, I couldnt be sure that the novelty wouldnt wear off quickly if I went for the equivalent EVO. With the benefit of hindsight, I might well have gone for the EVO mate, I've had a look around the MLR on and off for the last few months and some of them look absolutely stunning and seem extremely easy to extract power from. Cheers, Grant

Yea, looks nice from spec list & photos that I've seen.. talked to the guy about it, but think he's after an EVO now which kinda puts an end to that. Cheers, Grant

Possibly, possibly... Do you know the car Dan?? Cheers, Grant

Once rolling, even being very (2000kg??) heavy cars, that will be devastatingly quick. Cheers, Grant

Sexual Chocolate ! Snake Bellied 2008 Sti
RS Grant replied to ~ ~ Cal ~~'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
I dont mind the 08 too much (rear lights aside) and think that with a couple of small mods they look spot on... that one linked above is just an example of that. I'd love to roll around that low with such an aggressive wheel/offset combo but it would require body mods that I'm not willing to do on an 2007 car and with the state of our roads it would be a complete ballache trying to avoid the holes/bumps/raised draincovers etc. Cheers, Grant -
I'm a big supporter or STi Red/Clears.... however, that defo looks better than they did as standard. I missed the thread on your new car too, had a look there, looks very nice mate.. sure you'll have fun putting your own identity on it too. Cheers, Grant

Ok, just looking to see if anyone knows any good/bad things about AP Motorsport in Edinburgh. Cheers, Grant

When you say help... are you talking in-depth mechanical help, or a spare pair of hands, if its the 2nd option then I'm available. If its more in-depth stuff then I'm not the man for the job. Cheers, Grant

Nope, dont think that Matt Black is the way forward for a daily road car being driven about normally... as a weekend warrior or track car (that rally car with orange detailing looked nice) thats getting its a*** kicked properly, its quite a good look. Cheers, Grant

Not a fan of those front lights mate, but the rest looks awesome... squats right over those big tyres, and I actually prefer the stock STi4 Rear Spoiler with the wider arches rather than the higher level STi 5/6 or 22B style spoiler. Am I right in saying that having no spoiler at all is not really an option when you're hitting those sort of speeds?? 9.9 in a shakedown with more to come - lol, there are fast cars, really fast cars and then your car mate. That sort of performance is just crazy, dont think anyone can understand how fast that is until you actually have to try and put that power down yourself. I know I cant get my head around going 3-4 seconds quicker down a quarter mile?! Cheers, Grant

Bought A New Camera ( Warning Evo Content )
RS Grant replied to paul555sti's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Great quality of pics and the cars look spot on too. That would be the only colour I'd have an E6 in. Cheers, Grant -
http://www.iangrievesubaru.co.uk/UsedCars.aspx is their used car site.. it'll be in decent condition if they're retailing it, and at that mileage, I'd expect it to have had a rebuild but you should get a warranty with it anyway? Looks like its got a couple of mods on it too: Exhaust, 18's, Prodrive Alcon Brakes, Prodrive Gearknob, CD Player... worth a phonecall to chat about it with them. Cheers, Grant

Need A Bit Of Tech Info On The New 2008 Wrx's
RS Grant replied to ed-209's topic in Scottish Scoobies
The new WRX is certainly more floaty and soft than the previous models... however, the STi still retains quite a firm ride, although it is more comfortable to drive 'normally' than previous STi models were. Oh, and welcome back to the fold..... possibly. Cheers, Grant -
Any ideas why he has stopped... I've not seen ANY bad reports with a car that he's brought over yet. Cheers, Grant

Looks like the interior has been attacked with a Halfrauds Rattle Can and the front bumper has been cut for a Front Mount at some point too (can also tell by lack of Number Plate Holder & random Number Plate positioning).... and at 10k, I'd probably steer clear and look for a decent Owners Club car on P1WOC or Pistonheads. Ok, it'll maybe cost another 1-2k to buy, but should prove a more rewarding car to drive/own than one thats had a bit of a tough time. Cheers, Grant

Could be down to the sh@t weather.. I cant remember, do you run an induction kit on the car, or even a Panel Filter with the resonator removed?? The hunting sounds like a MAF fault, its not mega expensive and is a job you can do yourself.. or a local garage could do for a couple of quid, takes minutes. The MAF is the sensor at the turbo side of the airbox/induction cone, could try taking the sensor off and giving it (the thin wire in the middle of the pipe) a blast with brake cleaner, I'm sure that helped my old MY99 when I did it. Theres a wee pic to show which sensor I mean. Cheers, Grant

Wife Just Out Of A Crash ! 6 Months Pregnant
RS Grant replied to braveheart's topic in Scottish Scoobies
To$$er, hope he gets his day in court for this... glad that your wife and kids are going to be fine. At 20, he should really know better. Cheers, Grant -
Oh yes, that looks good... facelift stuff REALLY improves the front end. Cheers, Grant

I actually dont mind the stripes, they're not stupidly wide, and with the orange wheels they look spot on... get the 18's done as well mate. I'd keep the JW340 and Shake and Bake Baby stuff all the same font, and if you can, rip the Prodrive Font off as it'll look a touch oem. But, defo need to move the JW340 to the leading edge of the door (closest to front wing) and about 2-3cms under the middle 'in-dent line' of the door. It looks a bit too random where it is just now IMO. Cheers, Grant

The only time I've been into one of those places (down on Ferry Rd, Dundee) was in a Company Car when I never had a chance to wash it over the weekend and the boss gave me a £5 note and ordered to go and get it washed when he saw it on the Monday morning. I would never take one of my own cars there, makes me cringe when I see new R/Rovers, BMW, Audi, etc using the place just because their owners dont find time to do it themselves. I appreciate that there are circumstances which mean that people dont have the facility to wash a car outside their home, but there must be other options available than this. Cheers, Grant

Somewhere in Angus, ScoobyIain has just gone into meltdown after reading this thread and having horrific visions of bargain jumbo sponges and single buckets full of dirty water being used over and over!! Cheers, Grant
