  1. I know what you mean... doesnt even stop when you buy a new/nearly new car and throw a couple of mods on it. I also poke, prod, idle, blip, etc in my car and its nowhere near as modified as yours is. When I had my Celica, it was a nightmare, that did have a lot of mods on it and I rarely listened to the Radio and always seemed to talk myself into the fact that there was a noise that wasnt supposed to be there.. or that I should just double/triple check everything each time I stopped the car regardless of how long or how hard it had been driven. But when you plant the foot and go for it, you've got no choice than to look where you're going and all the worrying is worthwhile!! Cheers, Grant
  2. You can run the TD04 on a 2.5 but IMO, you should really beef that up a wee bit to feel a real difference. VF34/35, TD05 16g, 18g or 20g are all reasonable price alternatives for you, if you really want to splash out then an MD321 (T or H cant remember which) seems to be getting rave reviews from people that have upgraded.... combines a pretty low spool without losing the ability to pull pretty big numbers. However, you might want to think about upgrading the Injectors if you stick on one of the larger turbos as I'm not sure what the standard 440cc are capable of...... I'd be surprised if you couldnt run a VF34 or 35 on them though. Remember also, your car will need a trip to Port Seton to take into account the larger capacity and any extras you add, so an extra few hundred to budget for. Cheers, Grant
  3. A quick Audi of some sort?? Cheers, Grant
  4. Thats a car that Jase @ Scoobybits had in stock... not sure if he's part of Samurai Performance or if they bought it off him... but its definitely one he had about 3 weeks ago, as I was more than a bit tempted to go for a Type-R and he had two Black V4s for sale. Cheers, Grant
  5. Might be worth putting up the full spec list of the car as it stands just now, then would be easier to see what will/wont suit the 2.5 upgrade...... if you decide thats the way to go. Cheers, Grant
  6. Buy a TVR of some sort... that isn't bland in the slightest. A late spec Tuscan, 350c or Sagaris are all cars that I really want at some point. A friend has got an early Tuscan, alright, its been pretty unreliable but when it was out and about.. the looks and respect it got was awesome, it sounds amazing as well. Cheers, Grant
  7. Bad news about the engine.. after all the time/effort thats gone into the car too!! I would definitely go for the 2.5 short engine with some uprated internals as you've already got transmission that will cope..... the only reason I wouldnt go for a 2.5 in a Classic with a goose'd engine is the standard transmission would really struggle to take the strain but with the 6spd and 2.5, it'll be a really nice car to drive. Think that Wuz had a 2.5 kicking about, sure that Playsatan mentioned that recently in another thread. Cheers, Grant
  8. Love the ST2s and those Revolutions look like 18" ST2s so thats a big thumbs up from me.. Cheers, Grant
  9. My advice would be to try and source a genuine Turbo (WRX or STi) bonnet with vent already attached... as even if you bought a scoop, cut a hole in your bonnet and secured it down, it may still look a bit 'diy' once finished. A turbo model will be a straight swap with your bonnet, and means you can stick the standard one back on when you come to sell........ or get bored of the bonnet scoop. Cheers, Grant
  10. Haha, no more reasons Jay Dubya... I quite like the boost pressure one. Yea, I've got a Full De-Cat system on the Spec-G............... *cue* Sports CAT jibba jabba!! Cheers, Grant
  11. I discovered this after the Knockhill Trackday I did.. the pipe from the turbo to intercooler had 'slipped' off at the bottom so I was loosing about 0.3bar boost pressure in the midrange and about 0.1bar at the top end. Although if you guys are checking your gauges and arent losing anything then this post is pretty pointless. Hope you get it sorted out though. Cheers, Grant
  12. Good choice of car, nice list of mods... welcome to the club. Cheers, Grant
  13. ....steady on there Welsh lad.... Cheers, Grant
  14. That is surprising.. very quick for an insurance company to pay out, although nowhere near as quick as they are at taking your money!! What Jeep did you go for?? Cheers, Grant
  15. Nothing wrong with Sport... there was a guy on SN back in the day, John Felstead, pretty sure he took a Sport around The 'Ring back in the day with some Whiteline Kit fitted and really impressed a few people. It was a fair old while ago, but think that there was a video kicking about of it too. If it was me, I'd put some sort of exhaust on it to open it up a bit (sound more than power I mean), then concentrate on handling/braking mods and if/when you progress from Sport to Turbo then you might be able to carry over some of the handling stuff to sharpen up the handling of the new car. Cheers, Grant
  16. Guess I'm at Stage 1 just now.. lot of stages to go, hmmmm, should be fun........... and very expensive to work my way through them. Cheers, Grant
  17. Yea, believe me, my first thought was to take physical action against them/their property.. but I've reacted like that in previous situations and ended up in pretty serious trouble because of it, so its taken a lot of self-control, but I've resisted the urge to pay them a visit. I could feel the rage bubbling up inside me when I stood in front of their WRX at Crail though, all I could do was wait a couple of seconds to get their attention and shake my head then walk away, otherwise it would have kicked off for sure. What I dont find surprising (because of the type of people they are) is that these people havent come on and made a public apology for this, despite it being at the top of the forum nearly constantly since I posted it... ok, they couldnt defend their actions, but when I originally put this thread up I actually expected some sort of public response. This has been posted on the MLR and Passionford as they are known members on these forums...... which is why the number of views has flown passed 2,500, so like a couple of people have said, its getting a lot of coverage all over the UK. I appreciate the support from everyone though, I completely agree that 99% of members are top quality and trustworthy... just goes to show that its not just newbie members with a couple of posts that can be dodgy. These are two members who have been here for a while, post on and off and have attended numerous events organised through the club. Cheers, Grant
  18. ....just noticed that the advert has been removed by Pistonheads after an e-mail I sent them.. so I'll stick the screenshot up that I took when I first saw my wheels being sold by these two so that any new viewers will understand what I'm on about. Cheers, Grant
  19. A few people have told me not to wait, but I've made the arrangement and will stick to my word on that.. and they know that the end of May is the last chance they've got before things are taken out of my control and they get a knock at the door from the Police. I've also linked this to the Mitsubishi Lancer Register as Jamis has just bought a Yellow Evo 5 and joined up there as 'an enthusiast' too.. like I said before, I hope that others will remember this thread when dealing with these people and tread very VERY carefully themselves. Cheers, Grant
  20. Ok, update for you all here.. I had a phone conversation with Haz eventually on Friday and was given the following information: The wheels were sold, and apparently it was my fault for not asking for them back, which meant that Jamis (Jim) went away and advertised them and then sold them instead of sending me a text/pm/FAO post to say that they were surplus to requirements and that I could collect them...... I was then told that money was extremely tight, their relationship was over etc which I accepted and because of this I said I'd wait until the end of May for payment of the full £125 and that I wouldnt be accepting any excuses or stories and that if it wasnt paid then I'd be forced to take things further. So... Due to tax delay with Scoob, I couldnt attend the Highland Run today.. which I am gutted about as I have been looking forward to it for aaaaaages!! However, I decided to borrow a car and head up to Crail for a look instead, cause didnt really fancy sitting in the house doing nothing. So, I arrived, paid my £15 entry fee (which I was pretty P/O'd about, total rip-off), went up and parked the car. Met up with a couple of my friends that were there and had a watch of some 1/4 mile stuff, then went on a wander around the grass........ and guess who I saw sitting in the WRX on the stand for the website that they own. Yep, Jamis and Wrx Haz, in the same car.. having a great time by the looks of things. So for a couple with severe money problems, they managed to spend the 30-40quid on petrol to get there and the £30 entrance fee........ Its obvious that despite sounding really genuine, Haz had just spun me a load more lies on the phone on Friday evening. I am absolutely disgusted at these two members of the Owners Club, I've been around Subaru, RS, GT4 and Honda Owners Clubs since I started driving and have always believed that people who use these sites are real enthusiasts. I've lent stuff out before to help out fellow members in need, never had a problem, but unfortunately I'll think very long and hard about doing it again now after this hassle. Cheers, Grant
  21. Yep, I've tried the number Andy... no joy unfortunately. Like I said, I was reluctant to take it this far, but the more time I take waiting for a reply then the more chance that the wheels will have gone as the Pistonheads advert is still live and the wheels are still very much up for sale obviously. Cheers, Grant
  22. Not heard anything back... so phoned the Police for a bit of advice and they are going to come over to take some further details from me and then try and get the Police in the Forfar area to get in touch with Jim about this. What they said is "theft is theft at the end of the day sir". I'm disgusted by the attitude and lack of contact from these two members after all the texts and PM's that have been sent by me and other members trying to resolve this ourselves. Its not the value that I'm concerned about, its the principal........ plus, I dont want to be accused of being underhand, so I'm letting people know everything that happens so that you can all make your own minds up based on the facts. Cheers, Grant
  23. Thanks for the PMs and help from people, its appreciated. JC, thanks for the offer mate, these are the wheels I had in the boot of the Spec-G at one of the meets that I tried to haul out before you took them out for me, dunno if you remember?! Anyway, I've had to lend my mate a set of 18's that I had lying about for his car to sit on while his own wheels get refurbis.......... hang on, de ja vu anyone?! Haha, hope I dont see my 18's up for sale anytime soon!! Gordy, I'm a pretty laid back guy, but I dont like dishonest people and I dont like being ignored... both things really p*** me off. If I keep being ignored then I'll probably end up knocking on their door and politely asking for the wheels or the £125 back as they weren't theirs to sell. Cheers, Grant
  24. Rectified, didn't realise I was so close to my limit. Cheers, Grant
  25. Please get in touch asap re: wheels I lent you last year while you got yours off and sent away to be refurbished... I'm just a bit concerned after seeing my wheels being advertised for sale on Pistonheads here by you. I sent a text explaining that a friend needs them asap but not sure if the number in advert is correct or if my crappy Nokia N95 actually got the text message through to you.. I know you surf t'internet a bit so thought easiest thing would be to fling up a wee thread to find out what the crack is. If anyone else reads this and is in contact with Jim or Haz, can you point them in the direction of the thread because I'm gonna need these wheels back pretty sharpish. Ta. Cheers, Grant
