  3. PM not working - your BOX IS FULL If you still have the wheels please email piccy to grwp@hotmail.com I have 2 sets of 17" wheels here we might manage to work a deal on. Both will fit anything from Classic to Bugeye to Blobeye. or how much do you want for them???
  4. Offshore sux - what you really want is onshore - oil related - good dosh - home every night .... RESULT !!!! Hey Ciaran - I wondered where yer SIDC Member badge was - but Keith told me - Yer a tight erse !!!!!! LOL
  5. I did work offshore, thats why I lived in Wellbank to get away from being "too handy" to be called offshore at short notice. However, I am now onshore, but working on the BP oil pipeline booster stations. It runs from Cruden Bay to Grangemouth....
  6. Hi Wasn't me.... But I am impressed Wellbank got a mention... I lived at Shanks of Omachie from 1990 to 1999 - and loved every minute... Had a few great nights at Wellbank Arms... (Pre-CathRennie / RanchPancho days).... Now in Stonehaven...... Anyway - Safe Scoobing
  7. Anyone else here have a Playstation 3 with either:- Race Driver GRID Burnout - Paradise City If you have - Add me and we can race PS3 ID G_R_W_P
  8. This IS Scooby related as I had upgraded the original speakers I bought from the Subaru Dealer at a VERY reasonable price for great speakers. I had also replaced the standard unit for a Sony multi-input unit. However, there was a lack of bass. I decided to get a Sub-woofer. After 3 trips to Halfords, I realised everyone there are totally clueless and know the square-root-of-F*** ALL about what they are selling. Also, they sell a Sub with no amp for £99 or complete system for £199 - £250.... I went to AUTOSAVE on Riverside and after 5 minutes with a VERY helpful guy who KNEW what he was talking about, I left with a complete SUB+AMP all inclusive system for £95 - Easily fitted, sounds AWESOME and worth every penny....... Basically - AVOID HALFORDS - AUTOSAVE are the lads (Riverside branch anyway)!!!!!!
  9. UPDATE:- Following the excellent service I got from Kev at the start, I took another BIG step, and booked it in for the 50,000 service (with cambelt). The steering wheel was also slightly off, and I asked for a 4-wheel alignment as well, (NEVER get KwikFit to touch a Subaru.... they don't have a clue !!!!!). So, off it went - dropped off Monday night for them to work on it on Tuesday. 9am a call from them, rear discs needed (I agreed - I kinda thought so before it went in) and cambelt tensioner (I had been informed this might be needed) so I agreed..... I had remembered to ask for my SIDC discount when booking in - this reduced the p/h rate from £68 to £45 (as I was told anyway) So, "in my head" I had estimated a possible bill of up to £1000....... Final bill was £811.26 Personally, having looked over the car, checked oil level, it seems to have been very well done, and overall a good job. - Thanks guys !!!!!! Now the tiny bits of bad news......... 1 - Light checks are part of the checklist, however it went in with one numberplate light out, and came back the same, so they were not very thorough with the light checks.... (I did it later myself, it was just a bulb change req'd) 2 - As I also have a company car which is a Land Rover I have been a frequent user of T&C Land Rover along the road. Every time I get my car back from them it is gleaming with ultra clean wheels etc. and even the inside sometimes gets a clean...... T&C Subaru obviously don't do this, I know that seems trivial but its really nice to get an ultra-clean car back from a service... Overall - Good job done IMHO
  10. OK it's "old-git" time again..... (I am 44 with full NCD and also passed IAM test and current member) I just insured a MY04 WRX Fully-Comp, protected NCD, SD&P use... £212 and get £35 cashback after first 30 days = £177 ... RESULT!!! All I did was a search on www.moneysupermarket.com and RAC came up with the 2 top prices. I did try other "comparison sites" both none of them offered better than £450........ it is very strange how these sites work.... I advise doing the IAM training and test, its only £99 and you DO learn a lot, regardless how good a driver you "think" you are, there is always room for improvement.
  11. Nope - All badges are as standard - the WRX on left of boot, S U B A R U across the back.... Only additions are the small SIDC (grill badges) but one at front bottom middle, and one at the back middle below number plate.
  12. 44 - and to have a mid-life crisis would mean growing to an adult first......... I have never grown up mentally yet..... On my 4th Subaru now, and wish I had bought a WRX years ago..... (not as old as HairyDJ but have IAM as well..... TEE HEE)
  13. As usual, the speakers which came as standard on my 2004 Blobeye were absolute CRAP!!! I am not the kinda person to go spend £1000+ on a mega-system however I do like a reasonable sound.... To my amazement there is an official upgrade which is available from the dealers (Town & County - Aberdeen in my case) and was priced at £100 INC. VAT. The speakers are Clarion which I know are quite good, so I ordered them. What you get is 2x200W for front doors, a pair of Tweeters also for front doors, and a pair of 120W for back doors, and complete wiring and fittings for all. They arrived within a week, and with my SIDC discount I actually paid £90.01. Fitting was easy, although not exactly as described. I found an easier way. I have to say, for the price they are fantastic value for money giving a very acceptable quality of sound and I had them all fitted within an hour. Personally I think I need a wee bass-box in the boot, but that is my fault for buying a stereo with a crappy 3-band equalizer, however it does have a sub-woofer output, so i think I will make use of it. Basically, I highly recommend the very affordable official upgrade!!! If anyone wants more info or some guidance on fitting just drop a line. I will be more than happy to assist.
  14. That will be my wee gliders then !!!
  15. I followed a nice Maroon Classic up the A90 until I turned off at Stoney..... was it you Dale???? 11:30pm (ish)
