  3. went down to cardiff yesterday and picked up my new daily driver, something more economical and to save miles off the scoob so far im loving it, comfy, refined and 39 mpg coming back up the road!
  4. just to let people who dont go into events much that a date and venue is now confirmed for this and bookings can be made, its a sticky in events and at the top of here. itl be a great night and of course i would take absolutely no pleasure in having a huge turnout when the scoobyball down south had to be cancelled ... now including the tayside run in the morning - see Ballistics post 18 for details
  5. just gorgeous, for me the 2 ultimate uk cars and both look crackers - especially in their natural habitat, gravel tracks
  6. autosmart tardis is the stuff, i used it to remove sticker residue on a motorway maintenance van we had,be careful with it and polish afterwards but itl do the trick mate
  7. ooooooooooh splumph - nuff said...
  8. thats interesting to hear youve come to a similar setup through your own trial and error - it was john at pro grip that suggested it to me and to be honest ive only played with the settings a little, just felt good to me will be interested to have a run in your car at some point, when ive more spare funds to throw at the car il probably step up to better quality setup - providing i can notice a difference in ride! think you could make up a set to be honest - its pretty much bicycle brake line type stuff with a socket to fit over the adjuster on the damper and a knob at the other end
  9. good result with the remap and top marks to steve for sorting the heatshield on the spot - did you ditch your undies when you stopped for the chainsmoke too? lucky escape, never heard of this before either - off to check mine now....
  10. il definitely see you at this one! though if im still coughing you may want to wear a surgical mask to avoid the lurgy.... take it your setting up friday night at the racecourse?
  11. yea but Neils tyres do have Neil at the wheel - bringing his considerable skill and, ahem, downforce to the party
  12. its ok min, i cant make it so you dont need to keep looking over your shoulder for me
  13. i use eagle f1's all year round, for winter i swap to the standard 17's still with them on never had an problems with them except in packed or deep snow then i switch to bf goodrich all terrains and an l200 pickup but maybe not so handy on the scoob though tour of mull legend callum duffy runs a legacy outback on the all terrains as an everyday car - looks quality
  14. it is interesting that youve gone softer at the rear, i went the other way rear 2 clicks harder to stop the nose wanting to push wide and to encourage the tail to edge out in really hard cornering but fitting coilovers is without doubt the best thing you can do with newage sti's
  15. i find it easier to spend money than push buttons.... and after my experience with subaru dealers idea of alignment il stick to someone i can rely on every time!
  16. here we go,hel be off to start scottishfordies.net before we know it...... dinnae be daft Bobby, youd be back before you knew it
  17. yea i am, mind you its also how i asked john at progrip to set the car up
  18. dont worry il be wearing a stetson, false moustache and going by the name Bandit - theyl never find me.....besides nothing was proven, the donkey went 'missing' before court....
  19. anyone going down to this next saturday, the 18th? looks like il be down there picking up a motor anyway, means il miss the club trackday though
  20. very nice mate, still fancy one myself although your starting to ccatch up on gus for frequency of scoob changes...... any moment now the spectre of Del will pop up.....
  21. il fess up that im a wimp, i leave my 05 sti on auto all the time. having said that it feels plenty loose enough at the rear end for me and i can quite happily exit roundabouts and corners i know with the tail to the side.....
  22. welcome along mate - nice to see another newbie, even with a hatch lol performance driving course,if its the one thats done partly on the road its well worth it! prodrive gear is very well developed and preserves the warranty - but there are other options which give better value for money. either way you'l notice a big difference to the car and its a very slippery downward slope once you start - but its only money
  23. there will be pain....much pain.....
  24. sorry to dissapoint Glyn but no tassled shirts im afraid! however cowboy boots and stetson....check and lorna does indeed owe me one - shes the entertainment and im the transport.... were getting the ferry at 10 neil,be there til 4 or 5
