  1. welcome along mate get yourself along to the tayside meet in dundee this thursday night, dont know anyone in dundee but theres AWD and also RA motorsport developments in perth - both know whats what with a scoob but hide the credit cards before you go
  2. oh he was rolling ok, started at 50 and was still with him at 140 - though i had to sit back a bit to avoid the gravel rash
  3. 05 sti so same brembos as yourself - subaru were over 200 for pads when the first pair wore out so i went to the mintex 1144's (£90) with braided hoses - no different to the standard in dust or performance from cold, no squeaks or squeals, definite increase in bite and lasted about 15k hard miles im now on godspeed 330mm 2 piece discs with the ds2500 pads and there better but not a huge improvement over the mintex and need quite a bit of warming up. i cant wait to move back to the mintex and i know a few others who agree with me - on track with lots of heat the ferodos would be great but for road use id stick with the 1144's
  4. id recomend mintex 1144's - and you should be able to get them down to under 100 for them brembo's are oe, i wouldnt touch ebc with a barge pole and im running ferrodo ds2500's just now and aint terribly impressed. for the money on a fast road car i dont think youl beat the mintex
  5. all this cat talks got me thinking - who's got the fastest cat around? almost forgot thats what Grant from awd's car started life as so would imagine its king cat with all he's done to it over the years!
  6. its always fun, think the lad last night with the evo8 mr340/60 thingy was surprised not to be dropping a puny sti - stage 3 will have him crying in his bean can.....
  7. project gobstopper?? rbr 600? rb2015 after the finish date?
  8. time for a project name change then!! but think youve made the right decision mate, although itl be a crying shame to see an rb5 bite the dust - any hope for it?
  9. well looking at the amount of new bits youve bought mate its not going to cost much more to build the 2 door shell into a track monster and rebuild the rb to a really really clean fast road car.....sorry im not helping your bank balance here am i
  10. think black is on the 330s - on the sti i think its actually midnight blue though you need to look very very closely to realise its not black....same as the bugeye sti's, they were never done in black the v5's actually list them as dark blue..... however im sure morning will bring the hatch contingent out - Del, Glynn, Brian???
  11. out of your list id go with the impreza or the s3 hondas too frantic and not quite quick enough for my liking golf r dont know much about but doesnt seem special enough for the price tag focus, nice car but suspensions rock hard, fuel economys down with saloon impreza sti's and theyre getting a bit too common lol evo, very hardcore for an everyday drive s3 has probably the nicest interior, fuel consumption on a par with the others bar the civic,4wd which is nice to have current sti has best interior so far,and with a few tweaks will outpace all but the evo easily for fuel on all of them your going to be mid 20s to low 30s and servicing will probably be pretty similar to what your already at - they are performance cars after all, you pay to play!
  12. dont do it!!! all they do is advertise it the places you already have, youl never see cash or sale again
  13. welcome along mate, sounds like a youve got a nice one - catalunya's are one of the nicest specials subaru did beware, scoobs get under your skin like you wouldnt believe, even before you start modding or getting along to the events the club organises
  14. yea im the same, after all itd be rude not too
  15. i notice you couldnt resist each time though lol actually i tend to find that even on the odd occasions im looking to play i cant find anyone to oblige - mind you with the modified car show on at ingliston yesterday it wouldve brought them all out
  16. looking good mate, the black on black look is very cool so whats next on the mods list??
  17. welcome along mate, get yourself to a meet and destroy the credit cards now!!!
  18. looks like bad batch but that said i havent been back to try again......interesting to hear someone else with the same experience and welcome along mate!
