My thoughts are as above when you add a decat the ecu's picking up info from various sensors ie the lambda/hego/oxygen whatever you wanna call em sensors with a decat there picking up that there's too much air flow through the catalyst so it compensates by adding more fuel which means you get det (detention) soooo the ecu detects this through the knock sensor so it retards the ignition timing which means loss hesitation on boost basically it confuses itself sti's have a different ecu map to the wrx so it's got to be that little bit more precise probably why you've noticed it on the sti & not the wrx

Oooft now you have me wetting myself done me oil n filter 2week ago and it was a blue one that was supplied through Ian grieves got parts to phone and confirm it was the right one fair enough it was. But come on you pay a small fortune for descent oil and get cheap n cheerful dealer parts bad patter methinks

Think your safest bet is a like for like basis don't think I've seen a twin turbo scoob before something like that would need a seriously strong/expensive bottom end and the rest that goes with it to handle the power eg transmission/brakes suspension think about it this way to do something like that money wise you could probably buy something along the lines of a wr1 rb320 or the likes
