  1. good choice of road mr gumball, pretty similar to a section of the highland fling route this year so many to choose from but always enjoy the struy from alness over to ardgay
  2. bought the kit from the scoobynet group buy myself and awd in perth fitted them for me Dougie, even if it had been double the price would still have been one of the best things ive done to the car santa cruise i havent thought about but il probably be there
  3. hope its going to get dusted down in 2011 mate! once you get back behind the wheel you wont be able to stop grinning - how about a march/april run over the dukes?
  4. yea i do feel your pain mate, i actually had 3 weeks of warranty left when i found out the 2nd set had gonebut decided not to bother after all the hassle convincing subaru the first time and that the 2nd set failed after 6000 miles... think when i got mine they were about 480, real bargain! then fitting was about 180 as i had them play about with ride height - apparently the first height looked awesome but they couldnt actually drive it off the ramp lol i told the insurance about them for peace of mind, didnt put it up any though got to the minimum number cheers mate only just though - still room for more if youve become free,il even throw in a ride in a bc equipped car lol ps - howve you been Craig you big stranger? you and Julie not fancy the xmas bash? :biggrinsanta:
  5. 39? i think you need to use the pedal over on the right more sir - thats right aaaaaall the way to the floor
  6. do you need reminded about corners often Paul? standard of driving is shocking, either that or those rs's really dont handle! dont think the old scandanavian flick is either called for or appropriate... does make me fancy a blast over the pass though, never done it in the car but muchos grinos on the bike
  7. only 2 weeks to go and 4 days til the hotel wants final numbers so if your thinking about it get your name down - its going to be a lot of fun :kerstsmiley:
  8. ive found the handling and ride improved with the bc's on my 05 sti, theyre 32 stage damping adjustable so you can have them hard or soft as you like. i went through 2 sets of subaru struts within 20k miles so i decided to cut my losses and havent regretted it. theres usually a group buy running for them on scoobynet or local to you is hypertech in bonnybridge, they could supply fit and do alignment check for you cheers Dave
  9. well ive been running on both since my original post and i feel a slight improvement in throttle response on vpower but small enough to be mental (bit like me ) so i think i can say it was a bad tank of fuel that time good job really as we seem to be losing vpower stations all over the shop these days
  10. thats crap mate but sadly not unexpected from subaru these days did you buy it from a dealer? id speak to them about help. how many miles has the car done and has it had shocks before? unfortunately if subaru are digging theyre heals in theres not much to do bar going to a suspension engineer and paying for a report but even then theres no guarantee im afraid id start looking at bc coilovers as an alternative replacement,5-600 all in and if you dont want to mod the car get them set to standard ride height and wind them back to softest damping. no point in paying subaru the money for shocks which may do the same again
  11. think youve made a good choice mate, speaking from experience theyre never the same again and pmsl at your song choice - glad you can laugh about it
  12. looking good mate, cracking intro to the scoob world - now get cracking with the clay bar, polish and sealant lol your mates wrx looks cool too, sure ive seen it about down that way
  13. result! good your back so soon - the insurance company sort you out quickly? did you decide to let the old one go in the end?
  14. your making me feel bad, ive got the same list but its cold outside..... look forward to your pics later
  15. cheers guys, hows the pedal feel on them? as long as theyre not an on off switch think theyre va winner- good enough for white lightnings good enough for me! i must be a wimp right enough ciaran, ive worn out a set of brakes in the time your cars been off the road - just by driving it! bobby like the vulture i am id already thought of that but damn my 114 pcd! doh!
  16. cheers Ed, dropped them an email namechecking you
  17. project mu is that? theyve got a very good reputation, especially with the integra boys but i found mintex 1144's as good as any pads and they were 90 quid for sti brembo's so be about 70 for your wrx
  18. has anyone on here got or used compbrake, stoptech or hi-spec brake kits? looking to upgrade to 6 pot calipers and wondered about the inbetweeners - ie k sport as the cheapest, ap's most expensive have already got ds2500's, godspeed 2 piece discs, braided hoses and 5.1 so i think bigger calipers is the way forward - cars an 05 sti by the way
  19. welcome along mate, wave goodbye to the holiday fund lol from experience i would say dont bother with discs unless its needing them - none of the discs ive tried have been enough of an upgrade, save up and go straight to better calipers - sti brembo's are a good point. if you want to do something cost effective to them meantime try braided lines and mintex1144 pads, should get both for 100 quid and make a reasonable difference. powerwise, exhaust system either full decat or sports cat, uprated plugs and fuel pump and a remap - Alastair at trackhound tunings getting good reviews and about 250 for a remap i believe hope to see you at a meet somewhere soon cheers Dave
  20. welcome to the club and scoobydom - now hide the credit cards before the modding bug gets you!! cheers Dave
  21. welcome along mate, nice first sub - think i saw this up for sale last year in dicksons of perth dont be shy about coming along to a meet or run,not having a turbo yet doesnt need to hold you back
  22. no danger that he was scouting the car for later? come back at night and liberate it? does seem very very odd so just a worry
  23. Ian does offer a guarantee but you have to send the discs back to him for him to assess first which isnt very handy - i have this situation right now with his 2 piece discs which are fine when cold but have a very significant vibration after a few decent stops id stick with the brembo discs mate
  24. have tried a few trickle chargers for my bikes and while i havent used the ctek one you cant go wrong with the optimate, absolutely cracking piece of kit and ive seen it bring back near terminal batteries before
