  1. Alrighty Folks, After recently getting stopped for speeding (taking me to 6 points) i'm thinking about investing in a detector.... Thinking of one of the following..... Road Angel Classic Snooper S2 Snooper S5-R Obviously going on my options i'm looking for a budget option (especially as i jus lost £60!).... Anyone using the above / got any other suggestions? I was thinking of mounting it where the clock is and taking a power feed from behind the stereo (back of the cigarette lighter) any alternatives..... Cheers Chris
  2. Re-sent....
  3. Doug, Did you get my PM, my message box is playing up and it looks like i sent it to myself but who knows......
  4. On the plus side jus done a couple of insurance quotes (its not up til September anyway) and it isn't making much of a difference, certainly not enough to make me change cars altho my modding plans may be scuppered.... Think i may invest in a road angel / origin B2, i genuinely don't drive fast (apart from the occasional squirt on quiet country type roads) but seem to get picked up when doing a little over the speed limit, previous points where for 84 on a motorway, clear day, mid-afternoon on the way back up from a conference in the Lake District ....
  5. Yeh its a deceiving road, cos its 3 lanes and at the times i use it usually fairly quiet so it tends to make you press on a bit, certainly 30 feels like crawling..... Hey ho, what can i do, if i don't take the fixed penalty i'll prolly end up getting a bigger fine / more points.....
  6. Doug, I touch goats
  7. Know them that well do you?!?!?! lol
  8. Couldn't really see cos of the hat but the guy that was reading me my rights etc was a bit portly yeh, other guy was tall n skinny, know them?? Wanna get them to bin the carbon copy, lol?
  9. Well i managed to pick up my 2nd speeding conviction tonight.... 43 in a 30.... sounds fairly high but..... It was on Gt Western Rd heading towards Dumbarton at around Blaidardie, road is 3 lanes wide, very open and about 150yards ahead is a 50 sign, started gently easing up from 30 when i see the sign and then a big yellow jacket wanders out onto the road.... gutted. Depending on what impact this has on my insurance it might be the end of my scoob come renewal time.... Ah well, i guess i shouldn't moan, i broke the law and got caught..........
  10. All the best mate, i'm sure it'll all go well!
  11. Sorry mate, meant to post on Today but was totally snowed under in work... I passed and the sign is gone so i figure it musta shut up shop.... I'm sure's there one in Partick as well so if i'm about that way i'll keep an eye out..

  16. Doug, I pass a place on the way to work that says it does it, if you head along the Broomielaw, across the bridge which essentially takes you onto Pollockshaws road it is just on your left hand side before the Underground Station.... (not the best directions but unsure of street names) I'm not sure if they are any good but seeing as no one else seems to know anywhere thought i would at least give you the option, i'll take a look on the way in tomorrow to make sure its still there.... Cheers Chris

  23. I see what your saying Phil but its not in some people's nature to go out of their way to say hi and thats not an insult in anyway, jus different strokes.... If at least one person made the effort it would make new people feel a bit more welcome.....
  24. Sounds like a fair point Chris, I made my meet debut at the last trip to the brewers fayre a couple of weeks ago yet i only spoke to about 25% of the folk there.... No offence to anyone and i'm not going to start any of the "clique" rubbish but for whatever reason it wasn't the "warmest" of receptions for a newbie. Especially when you first show up and stand for about 5 mins not actually talking to anyone, there should really be one nominated person that is the "introducer" who should make an effort to speak to anyone new then take them round to meet at least a few folk..... Anyway, jus my thoughts.....
  25. Hungry Horse, Just on the main road into Dundee near the airport...... Pub Grub, HEEEUUGGGEE portions and much cheapness.. can't beat it!
