chris_c201 replied to chris_c201's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Looks like i'll try and get the battery from costco so will be fitting it myself... Quick Question - Is it possible to have the car running and transfer the batteries over purely for laziness purposes like not having to re-tune my radio and stuff..... If not and i have to cut all power completely will this cause any issue's with immobiliser? Cheers Chris -

Del - Think your right about tampering being the issue here.... the house is in Dalmuir Clydebank but we can discuss later.... Col - Yep there is two seperate lights wired back to the one switch (box) with two seperate switches... they are only 1 way (i.e. only one switch point for the lights) The cores are part of wires... 3 cores each although i can't think how there is 7 at each side now.... need to go down and refresh my memory! BlackWagon - Thanks for the diagram mate, much appreciated, how does this go though for this scenario where there are the two lights.... i see your saying that the Neutral and Live go to next fitting but how do you know which is the "switched live for the 2nd fitting? Again thanks to everyone for their help....

Yesterday leave work after the gym and its totally flat despite nothing being left on in the car... get a jump start, fine going home then again this morn its dead so i need to pick up a new battery tonight really.... Any suggestions..... anyone know the specific rating of the battery in a newage and lastly how much roughly should i expect to pay?? Cheers Chris

Guys, Looking for some info on a total nightmare in ma Sister's house to do with lighting circuits..... Basically it is an old(ish) house and has the system of wires were there is 7 wires for the light, of which several are looped.....Its in the sitting room so there are two seperate lights run off 1 double switch..... Currently no wires are connected up due to two different people having a bash at it and now we have no idea what is what...... One one side there is 1 constant live, an earth, 2 red wires (not live) and 2 black.... On the other there is one earth, 3 red and 3 black (no live) We have had it connected up in such a way that the side with the constant live is working fine but in this scenario no matter what you do at the other side its not working, occasionally it will flicker at half light but never a fully switched live..... We have a tester and you can end up with a switched live (black wire?) but when connected up it still doesn't work.... Is it possible during the various efforts at wiring the switch has blown or is it more likely that our wiring is just wrong.... anyone with any experience / advice on this please feel free as i am out of idea's... any wiring diagrams would be superb!!

Alright Folks, Looking to buy a PDA through a HCI scheme in my work before it gets scrapped..... It comes with "Destinator" nav software and has an integrated GPS Antenna, only question i have is should i be able to load Tom Tom on there instead. I don't see the make / model on the Tom Tom website but it runs Windows 2003 for mobiles so should it be a standard format?

You can't give an honest opinion on test drive if he is then gonna change things like a de-cat downpipe...... If you have doubts about it then i would give it a miss mate..... unless he makes it worth your while....

I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them up... you wont be able to see all of it as its hidden in the wing but i'll try and point out what i've done....
-
Nah, on a newage mate...... was gonna take some pics but my sis has my digi camera.... Not sure if you can do something similar on a classic....

Sorry mate was out all night.... Give me a shout though if your wanting to see it tomorrow at some point.....

Welcome mate.... I can't imagine having a Mrs that encourages you to make the car louder.... luck sod, lol

Finally got my act together and removed the intake resonator in the wing.... Left the ram air scoop pointing towards the whole in the wing for now although i may just block this off and remove the scoop, also took a 100mm tumble dryer hose and fed it into the airbox (was a v v v tight squeeze) and left the other end just at the back of the fog lights next to the vents.... Wasn't expecting any diff to performance but there is some defo noise difference, bit of a roar on acceleration, more turbo noise and then you can hear the OE Re-Circ valve pretty clear too.... much better.... Have noticed the temp guage on the dash seems to be sitting closer to the 1/3 mark where as it used to sit at the middle, may be my imagination though....

Traffic is a pain, everyone hates it but i jus don't see the point in being stressed about it.... no what you mean tho, hate when you are leaving a slight gap and some numpty decides he wants to squeeze in to it... Ah well, what can ya do!!

Superb mate, i broke 300 once with a mixture of motorway and town driving altho i have a fairly respectable 265ish average anyway..... Makes you tempted to take it easy to keep economy up......... then you come back to your senses and realise your not driving an oil burner []

Don't know anything about the specific car mate but that seems pretty pricey as well..... I bought a 2001 WRX about 6 months ago wi 23k miles, mint condition and totally standard and it was only 9k.... i'm sure you could get something cheaper!
