  1. Ker-ching! £££££ Shouldn't they be out looking for drink-drivers?
  2. All SIDC members are invited to take part in a West Country style skittles challenge at this event which was previously known as the "MENCAP Classic", but for 2008 has gained sponsorship and will be called the "AutoGlym MENCAP Classic" For more details, visit the website at http://www.autoglymmencapclassic.com
  3. Aye - we want scans. They must have a scanner somewhere in that concrete monstrosity us Scottish taxpayers forked out for.
  4. My bad on one thing. I left without leaving a tip for the staff. They did an absolutely top job, but were so busy I just paid by card and they moved onto the next person as there was a queue of people waiting to pay. I never tip on card, always do that cash. I'll make sure I make up for it next time I'm down. Felt guilty when I realised as they did a top job.
  5. Can only back up what folk have already said. Good fun and well done to Peter and staff for managing so many orders all at the same time. Good to see some members from further afield join the fun too :icon_rendeer:
  6. All who are doing Santa Cruise events, we'd dearly love for some follow-up stories and photos for the front page of the SIDC website. I don't think there is any better publicity for the Club than what its members do for these events. It firmly sticks the two fingers up at those who think all Scooby drivers are boy racers.
  7. I guess they need something to do since they're not selling cars any more
  8. Welcome. Wagon or Saloon? Wasn't particularly taken with the Saloon myself, but the GB270 Wagon looks the dogs IMO.
  9. Afraid this is bollocks. It is not the petrol companies that need kicking back against, it it the Government. However, when it comes down to them we just roll over and accept the latest shafting.
  10. Find the postcode of where your night out is then use the postcode finder on the Travelodge or Premier Inn websites. Can't go wrong with them for a reasonably cheap place to crash after a night on the
  11. Yeah, it's a permissions thing. I have to make sure your permissions tie in with being both a member and an RO and the Supporters thing, although it's only a logo, adds a little extra complexity. I'm looking at it now.
  12. This topic was, unfortunately, originally posted the day before the tragic loss of Colin & Johnny McRae and their friends. In light of that, because this was the last thing people were thinking about as the news broke and the blatant trolling that was posted by a certain individual, I set the topic invisible. I must admit I then subsequently forgot about it for which I apologise. I've now tidied it up and removed the trolling posts. This feature is still available with all proceeds going to Scottish Santa Cruise events. However, sign-ups for this need to be soon for those interested if the funds are to be available for Santa Cruise 2007.
  13. Take a top tip. Do NOT do what I did immediately upon receipt and think "Hmmm... I wonder how good the suction on these things is?" without reading the instructions and try it on your living room door. Took me best part of an hour to get the f***er off. I now want to meet a girl with similar abilities
  14. I've got one of them if you wanted to borrow it. I've had my video camera on it mounted externally, but it's old and was only a couple of hundred quid to start with. My camera body was £2.5k+ even without the lens so there's no ****ing way I'm mounting that externally - no matter how well the thing sucks!
  15. Why would you want to go from Dumfries to Knockhill via the Forth Bridge? Once through Glasgow, M80, A80, M876, Kincardine Bridge (despite the works it's still relatively hassle free on a Saturday) take the slip road into Kincardine, turn left at the traffic lights onto the A977. Carry on to the second to roundabout (first roundabout isn't a real roundabout as it's still being built) and it's signposted from there. Way shorter than going all the way across to Edinburgh.
  16. I took that attitude once on Pepipoo based on post-accident photos. It turned out a motorcyclist had cut up the car driver then braked hard forcing the car driver to take evasive action and I had to eat humble pie. From that pic, a kid could have run out or anything forcing the Subaru driver to do something out of the normal. You really can't say unless you know the facts and circumstances.

  20. Received this email. Anybody interested? I was wondering if any of your Aberdeen members's would like to be featured with their car in a motoring feature called My Wheels? It's basically a 300 word feature with pictures of the owner and their beloved car. Here is an example on how the feature would read. Evolving a dream Tony spent years on his bargain buy Donna Cooper TONY Elrick’s bargain buy turned into a real labour of love for the car enthusiast. And the 35-year-old Inverurie man has spent the past few years and a great deal of time modifying his Mitsubishi Evo VI RSX. Three years ago, Tony – who has owned three other Mitsubishi Evos in the past – knew he stumbled on a bargain when he discovered his dream car for sale for £12,000. Tony said: “This car is only one of 20 built by RalliArt UK. “Although it only had one previous owner it hadn’t really been taken care of – it was definitely in need of some TLC.” The car – which has no computerised driving aids – can hit speeds of up to 150 miles per hour. According to Tony it is one of the quickest Evo VIs in the country – reaching 0 to 60mph in 3.7 seconds. The full engine build – consisting of forged pistons, conrods, piper cams and hybrid ball-bearing turbo – was carried out by joiner Tony and his friend Martin Willox of Grange Garage in Peterhead. In the past year Tony has taken his passion a step further by joining PR Highland Speed Championship – where he has been taking his car through its paces competing against other drivers at various circuits around the North-east. “I was well pleased to take third place at the championship this year, explained Tony. “It was a close battle though, but I got there in the end.” Riding on a high, Tony is gearing up for next year’s Mitsubishi Lancer Register World Championships – which will see him compete against 50 other Mitsubishi drivers. While Tony is quick to point out both he and his beloved car are still evolving, he’s keeping his fingers crossed for a good result. “I reckon by the time Martin and I have finished modifying the car, it will definitely be ready for the challenge,” said Tony. gearing up: Tony with his Mitsubishi Evo VI RSX. It would be great to feature a mega-subara enthusiast! Donna Cooper Features Writer Evening Express
