  1. "REMEMBER THIS GRUNTER!! YADA YADA YADA you really do need to get over people having more than you and get shot of that big CHIP on your shoulder!!!! Have a nice day!! Ricey " that's a bit harsh ricey. No wonder why folk are scared of posting on the forum. someone asks a legit question, gets 2 answers, discussion develops quite amicably and you jump in with a comment like that and no one contributes to the thread for 9 hours, tho i suspect there have been several views since you posted that sarcy comment. It seems like you are the making it personal and that you are the one with the chip on your shoulder. yes, nos will give you more bhp. a bigger turbo will also give you more bhp. both answers are correct. can't you accept that there are different views..... can't you just let this grudge against the squirrel go?? the whole damn community knows that you both have vastly different opinions on anything / everything relating to scoobies [:@] imy ps - sorry bigdavie for hijacking your thread [] back to more bhp....... more power []
  2. Couldnt add my name to the Glasgow list at Peter's charity meal night as i wasnt sure if i'd have my car by then. I PM'd Billy after Del posted up the reminder to register and was told to contact Blue Boy direct (I assumed that Billy had already sent the Glasgow register of participants to Blue Boy before the deadline) I posted a cheque to Blue Boy with my car details and as far as I know my stickers will be included in the pack that will be sent to Billy for distribution. I'm working on the Sat night of the relay so am planning to join the convoy on Sunday, either at Kames (depending what time i get out my bed []) or en route when the convoy hits the M73. Will prob peel off around Perth, grab a bite and head home - doubt I'll be going as far north as Inverness. imy
  3. also woolly hat, fleece, gloves for the times you'll be standing around the pit lane blethering/spectating []
  4. i was thinking this was on the 22nd April and couldnt go cos it was in the middle of my exams [:'(] just re-read the thread and realised it is the following week, the 29th doh Exams will be over by then so able to take a doddle up, only to spectate mind, not quite ready to take my RA on track yet [] 1.Fai17(on track) 2.G6RAY(spectating) 3.Marc29(spectating) 4.Gumball (spectating/malingering) 5.Ally-b 6.G mac(on track) 7. Wilky (On track) 8. Big Daz & Scoobylav (On Track with project Puggy) 9. FastScooby (Hopefully with a fresh MOT) 10. Johnnyr6 (due to car probs. specting) 11. Fraz. A (spectating and getting in the way - which may leed to me getting a pas lap! hint hint)(pax lap with Fai17) 12. Teknopete 13. imy (spectating)
  5. welcome RabMcD, hope you enjoy the forum [] not really a SIDC secret wave as such, more of a scooby wide wave. Vicki, LOL i was like that when i first passed scoobies in my car. have now learnt to do the more sedate "manly" (ie controlled) nod and wave on the outside but am giggling like mad on the inside [] might just be me but i get really hyper when i get a wave back [H] imy
  6. yeah, this is my 3rd degree i'm doing St3ph3n (already have a BSc and MSc, this will be my 2nd MSc and 3rd in total) so have been through the mill a couple of times LOL. have 4 exams to sit in the next week then 10 months to do a 20,000 word dissertation... then hopefully i'll get the degree but on the +ve side, i'll be the only one grinning from ear to ear in the exam hall, cos i'd have driven my scoob from Glasgow to Heriot Watt Uni (outside Edn) [H] grant, quit growling at me, its hard to concentrate and resist checking the forum cos i know folk are replying to this thread! you're prob just bummed cos its sunny and ur wanting to polish my 'saltire blue' car heehee imy []
  7. thanks Cal "...Liked the diary tour of the UK - was a tale of joy and woe that ended like a Disney film." PMSL. i like that [] waiting for the rain/cold wind to lay off so i can wash and polish her properly before i take some more pics didnt think i'd be the type to wash/polish any of my cars...... until I bought this one [] imy
  8. nice pics Fee. whose is the yellow one? i likee [] imy
  9. all the best Dave and Jane try to arrange attendance at motoring events around birthdays/anniversaries/holidays [] imy
  10. no probs with the Shell at Woodlands Rd, Glasgow [:|] []
  11. aye, membership fees will go up by a fiver to £35 on 1 July 2006. just renewed mine through the SIDC shop and it was still £30 imy
  12. its also in the middle of my exams Ian. but good on ya for posting this [Y] imy
  13. O/T oooh, there's someone else that's not gone down the decat route. Cal, do u think ur engine will be stressed/damaged by leaving the cat on? i was planning to keep the cat on mine (agree with u about messing about b4 MOT) but believe that the engine may have to work a bit harder than if i took the cat off imy PS - ur car sounds nice []
  14. Does this mean you'll be leading one of the groups on the next run??? LOL Colin, I dont think so! am back to basics re driving at the mo, just learnt how to take corners in higher gears and was out practicing some hill starts last night (pesky RA gearing). doubt i will be leading anything, will be in the Driving Miss Daisy group at the runs [] imy
  15. "Got blanked by a green classic in Falkirk today - baseball cap on and stared at me like I was an alien" brian, a mental image of sharon came into my head there [] i'll need to be more observant to passing traffic now, i got a stern "a small wave, nod or flash of lights will do.... no need to take both hands off wheel and hail them back frantically" wagging-of-finger-type-lecture from the squirrel yesterday when i spotted a bug eye behind me on the M8 and was busy trying to ID bits of the car instead of looking at the road ahead [:$] imy
  16. just re-read this thread and although it seems like folk disagree with you/jumping down your throat, i'm glad you posted this as it flags up any issues others may have with the forum. it would be interesting to hear the views of other members. i'm biased cos i stay in glasgow, friends with the folk you have ID'd and work PT for one of the guys in question [] imy
  17. I’m surprised you feel like that Coulster. I’m an occasional poster but read the forums everyday and don’t feel the “divide” that you feel. This may be due to me staying in Glasgow and being friends with the people you have singled out [:|] The guys are very passionate about their cars and yes, perhaps their sense of humour takes a bit of getting used to and the occasional O/T goat/gay thread is annoying. But Glasgow has the largest concentration of scooby ownerships and when you add that to the vocal/boisterous nature of Gumball, Wilky and Peter there will inevitably be a higher proportion of posts relating to garages in the west that may make you feel excluded I’m not sure if there are garages in your neck of the wood that do what Greersport do but if there are, I’m pretty sure that owner’s who’s engines have blown/getting mods installed etc will post up their views in a similar fashion. From what I gather from reading the Events section, there are some active members in the Fife area and regular meets are beginning to take place. If you feel more of an observer on the forum and want to get more involved (speaking from experience as I did the clothing thing last year and helped organise some runs with Squirrel), perhaps you should start some threads or suggest different events. No-one will shoot you down for it and if it interests other forum users, you’ll get a good response. Just my tuppence worth imy
  18. thanks callum i wanted to say yes when you when u managed to guess it was the V-Ltd from my hints, but didnt want to jinx it cos it wasnt certain if we were getting her yet [] am well happy and glad we looked that wee bit harder for this car. imy
  19. thanks folks. been out for a drive and i can't believe how early you can change gears and how much torque there is low down. Normal corners that i would take in the justy in 2nd can be done in 3rd or 4th in the RA. This may shock everyone but i'm planning to get her re-mapped for 95 ron...... supermarket fuel. Not really up for this "drive past 4 petrol stations to get to a Shell station" malarky! [] imy
  20. well squirrel has his modded car to keep him satisfied and i am intending to keep mine totally standard. he's not going to adding knock links, sensors, guages, defis etc etc on my "little lady" imy
  21. thanks guys [] looking forward to learning how to drive.. dare i say it....like a guy (sorry girls)... and to handle all the extra horsepower she has (used to driving 1.3L cars) lol imy
