  1. Operation: Find Imy a scooby Objective: find a standard JDM classic scooby (impreza version 2 or 3) that meets my long list of requirements and the Squirrel’s mechanical/technical standards Mission: 1,000 miles, 48 hours, 8 candidates, 1 winner Outcome: I now own a version 2 STi RA V-Limited #411 out of 555 [] a bit of a story here as it took us a while to find this car........ 3 months of research, shortlist of 8 candidates spread across the length and breadth of England and Wales. Day 1 05:00 – Squirrel and I commenced the mission Day 1 10:00 - candidate 1 – WRX Limited (blue) with decals, West Yorkshire Not quite right, needed engine work, 2 out of 5 on the imy scale Day 1 14:00 – candidate 2 – STi version 3 (white), Keighley, north of Bradford Nice car but too “modded” for my liking, needed engine work, 2 out of 5 on the imy scale Day 1 15:00 – candidate 3 –WRX version 2 (white), Tommi Kaira bodykit, Halifax Abandoned viewing, didn’t get good ‘feel’ when speaking to the garage en route, didn’t want to waste time Day 1 17:00 – candidate 4 – STi RA V-Limited (blue), Leicester Lovely car, new engine about to be put in, arranged 2nd viewing on way home tomorrow, 4 out of 5 on the imy scale Day 1 19:30 – candidate 5 – STi 555 Limited (blue), High Wycombe, Bucks Lovely car, needed minor engine work, 3.5 out of 5 on the imy scale End of Day 1 23:00 – overnight stay in Newbury, nr Reading Day 2 10:00 – candidate 6, STi version 3 type R (gunmetal grey), Newbury Car was sold 2 days ago but viewed the cars in the garage forecourt as we were there anyway, nothing caught my eye Day 2 12:00 – candidate 7, WRX Limited (blue), Swindon Lovely car, good condition, engine was fine but didn’t get the ‘oomph’ factor, 3.5 out of 5 on the imy scale Day 2 15:00 – candidate 8 - STi RA V-Limited (blue), Cardiff OMG…… the search is over…… this is MY car! 10 out of 5 on the imy scale Burst into tears when I got the shiver down my back as the car started up and I heard the burble. Went out for a test drive and that did it for me. Paid the deposit straight away. It ticked my long list of boxes and more than satisfied the Squirrel on the mechanical/technical aspects. End of Day 2 00:30 back home in Glasgow, talked about my new car during the 7 hour journey home Mission Complete What a journey, thank goodness for diesel hire cars, motorway services toilets and TravelLodge! Mega mega thanks to Grant/Squirrel for helping me get my first scooby…….. guess my appreciation is shown by the fact that he’s a named driver on the insurance for my RA V-Ltd! updated pics below imy

  6. vicky, its also lowers the front of the car and guys seem to crawl over speed bumps while making a face in case they hear the noise of it scratching the car [] imy

  9. good luck pete i did one of these for Marie Curie Cancer Research a couple of years ago and it was the best rush ever. the feeling you get during the freefall was awesome and when i landed, i wanted to go straight back up in the plane and do it again but they wouldnt let me [] the moment just before you jump/fall out the plane was scary tho' imy []
  10. hey martin, Gayle and I had started doing this last year and managed to produce around 90 odd tops before it died down (raising some money for Santa Cruise in the process). I decided to stop it as: - the folk that wanted the tops now had them; - it was getting difficult to keep track of where everyone was (have they paid, have I ordered their top, when do I collect, do I need to post it to them etc) - it needed a lot of time to'ing and fro'ing with the clothing supplier / post office - there were a lot of terms and conditions/red tape in doing this - the new SIDC shop was being upgraded and I wanted to put the whole thing through the shop to save me the hassle of doing it. I havent heard from the committee in a while so will be happy to do some orders every 6 months or so as long as folk: - pay when they say they will pay (cash or cheque only - no paypal) - remember that price does not include postage, which means more work for me - give me the right details when I ask so they don’t hold up the process for others - understand I need a minimum of 20 items before I place an order, which means it could take up to 4 months before they get their tops We were going to expand it to include kids clothes, accessories etc but day job/uni/part time job meant I didn’t have enough time to do this. If anyone else wants to take this on, let me know. Happy to pass it over to someone else to manage/do. If there is a revival of interest in the clothes from peeps, I will do a batch for you [] imy

  18. nice work peter. List is looking good I make that 460 tickets sold, with a week and half left till the event. I also make that I have a 1 in 18 chance in winning something..... which is not so good as I have my eye on the booze......[] imy
  19. LOL that he's got 101 questions imy[]
  20. yeah ur excused......i'm a qualified shoe shopper LOL
  21. PMSL. very good let me see if I've got this right....... the shoes are the goal the purse is the ball and the other shopper is the remaining defender that stands between you and the goal..... and you can't make your move until the purse has been thrown/ball has been kicked Imy [] BTW...... nowadays, shoes behind the till indicate that they are being bought and are kept until you have reached the till and paid for them. V good analogy tho'..... from a girl that knows about the offside rule! []
  22. guess I also need a scooby then...... 3 nice houses with 3 (classic) scoobies on the drive... how cool will that be [] neighbours wouldnt dare complain!
