  1. Fantastic news Peter. Very glad all went well and your now enjoying it, whilst trying to get a handle on it.
  2. Jase is still making plenty on that car...believe me. They ain't that expensive from Japan nowadays fella, but i think it's reasonably priced. Defo worth a look.
  3. I'm still trying to work out what colour it is. I'd offer defo no more than 7k....i think he'd take it. Ad 20k miles onto that and try and sell it for anywhere close to that price.
  4. Depends on condition etc obviously, but no more than 7k would be my opinion. You can get the same model year saloons for pretty much that money and they are much easier to sell on.
  5. Yep and what your thinking of doing Alan, will make the car very expensive and seeing as you'll be feeling cheated out of a lot of money already, i think you'll be feeling even WORSE when you come to selling a Cat-C write-off Subaru wagon on.....not an easy job. 8k for the STi wagon is defo too much, but it has had the rebuild....although you'll never know how well done the build was, unless you have the reciepts for the parts bought and know the garage that done the job.
  6. Nothing really hard about the job. Get a 1/4 drive ratchet and 10mm socket, Hylomar for the gasket itself(or 3bond) and get the car on a tilt, so not too much oil comes out when you've taken the cover off. Smear a small amount of Hylomar over the face of the gasket and make sure the face of the head is clean and oil free. Petrol or thinners on a rag will help this. Take your time doing it and get as many parts out of your road, so you have as much room to play around as possible. And of course remember to check your oil level when your finished, just incase you spilled too much.
  7. I DID phone them back up to complain and the service manager said i could bring them up and he'd have them cleaned, but i doubt cleaning them will get of severely stained oil marks. Their garage must be an absolute mess.
  8. Yep. Got my (no longer available to buy and therefore rare as rockin horse poo-poo) Prodrive car mats covered in oil.
  9. Next port of call for me is leads. And get proper Subaru ones.
  10. That wasn't the gearbox i was talking about John.
  11. Nice car, but i think you'll be very lucky to get 8k for it fella.
  12. Poor show fella....i know how you must feel. I will always give about 2 weeks for fitting any additional mods, before a mapping session now, just incase something goes wrong.
  13. You not handy with wiring yourself? It's quite a simple job really...
  14. My gearbox worked perfectly fine, but when cruising and hitting a slight bump(classic was the joins on the Erskine Bridge), the gearlever would simply pop out of fifth. Other than that, there were no issues with finding gears or anything. Hope yer knee gets better soon bud.
  15. Your definately not experienceing the usual 5th gear nut coming loose, IMHO Stephen. As said before, i'd be for checking the linkage first before anything else.
  16. If i were you Alan, i'd consider the car. It's DEFO worth a look.
  17. COULD be a bad turbo, but you usually get some oil and coolant just burning off, from swopping it all over. Burning coolant smeels the worst. Very eye singeing stuff.
  18. Tommy Kaira kit on the last one and that's the only one i'd consider tbh out of those ones. If you got the last one for under 4k, i think that's about right, as the Wagons coming out of Japan at that age are very cheap now.
  19. My bet is on the coil packs breaking up and possibly needing new spark plugs. Early cars are notorious for this.
  20. Ah right ok, ta.
  21. What ones that Alan? Link?
  22. All sorted now....better make sure i make full use of all these benefits i've been told about.
  23. So i'll save myself the 35 squid and get all those benefits for nowt then?
