  1. Too true! I never expected to like it as much as i did. I knew i liked the STi especially in white, but this being pearl white and still being just a WRX, the extra bit's, certainly make it look a LOT better. Almost STi looks for bargain price.
  2. ........i love it! Faithers new WRX-S... Very good deal through John Spicer at S&S and thanks to Dougie for the help;). Tomorrow will hopefully see some Swissvax on it.
  3. IIRC the difference is in the pistons....don't think there's any difference in the block. As long as it's semi-closed i wouldn't bother about anything else block related(unless of course it's damaged lol) Not sure what pistons are fitted to the above pic, but the STi piston face should look like this...
  4. The one on Ebay makes it difficult to tell if it's a proper 257 block, as it has a head gasket covering it. The block you got, should have an embossed area with EJ25 on it and A or B stamped in the middle of the top, in line with each bore, relative to which piston is an A or B. This is a semi-closed deck EJ257 block...
  5. Stuart, these are the puppies you want, although i'm sure you can get em cheaper elsewhere... http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...pcode=MIK17/19S Nice to see it's first battle scar, Archie.
  6. H0ly s****! Can't believe how much you've done to her Arch! Also can't believe it's still got the same coilovers on it and that dash...................it's faded sooooooooo much! God i miss it, but i know you've changed the diff's. Not the same kind of sideways action now. lol
  7. Yup...and i'll point you in the right direction. Looking excellent Colin, but PLEASE get rid of the Type-R badge.
  8. Me thinks you'll struggle to get them quicker than ordering direct from Japsland, but if you haven't already tried them http://www.envyperformance.com/index.cfm Failing that, i doubt anyone else can help you. japanparts.com after that imo. http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php...=2&small=22
  9. Cheers guys, keep em coming. Will have a wee browse ove the details given.
  10. Spose i should make a real effort to get these two things sorted out and thought it might be an idea to ask on here... anyone know of any decent bands that are properly priced that do a bit of Ceilidh while doing some covers? And also a good photographer who does a bit of reportage style pics? This is the main one for me and don't wish to spend more than 2k. Had a look at www.parrisphotography.co.uk and i like his style, but don't get much for the money. Would have liked a storybook with all picctures on a cd.
  11. I picked it up and never found it to be rough, but then i must admit to not knowing how smooth it should be... Coulty later told me, however looked at it(might be your gearbox man in Hillington) reckoned it had high and low spots, as though it wasn't machined completely flat?
  12. You don't need to worry about it mate, as your far enough away from me not to try the place. It was a small company in Dumbarton. IIRC it screwed Stuarts clutch up in no time at all.
  13. Just make sure you get a DECENT place to do it though. Coulty will explain a bit more if he pop's in.
  14. Is it not an STi you have Welsho? If so, your's is bigger and heavier than Stuart's.
  15. IIRC you lose a couple torques when going to a lightened flywheel. If your determined to do it, take about 4 kilos off your stock flywheel and that'll suffice.
  16. Not a big problem to do yourself, but would be easier with another pair of hands mate. Getting it out is fine, but getting back in is a bit of a PITA on your own.
  17. Oops, dunno where i went wrong on that one tbh. Very true about both cars.
  18. True, but i see the depreciation come into it more and judging by what secondhand Caymen's go for, they hold up better than the Boxster.? Problem will be when it comes to sell it on, the Caymen will be easier to flog and get more of a return. Fuel cosumption is better on the Caymen too, so there must be a difference in the engine or something, if your getting the same performance.
  19. Davie, my opinion would be to go with the Caymen. The market is flooded with Boxster's and considering the way the market is becuase of running costs, you'll likely pick up a cracker of a Caymen for good money.
  20. Click the link for a few of the better piccies... http://www.flickr.com/photos/drb5/sets/72157605869842427/
  21. Ooooooooooooooooooh dear. Me thinks you'd be ruining a perfectly good motor there, but whatever you fancy mate! I take it the big scratch down the side won't t-cut out at all?
