  1. Neil, consider first what the paintwork could go like afterwards. To do a full proper respray costs 4 figures, then some wee runt comes along with a key... Another thing to consider is how it can affect resale value. Dunno if you intend keeping it till it dies, but someone with a keen eye WILL find it's had a full respray and question it. You CANNOT get a 100% factory finish, even if the factory finish isn't great.
  2. Lol go to the profile page of whoever your wanting to add and near the top right of the page, you'll see "Add Arthur Edwards Photography as a contact ". Click that and your sorted.
  3. Thanks guys....added yourselfs too. Joined up to the groups and thanks to Dale, for asking about my 22b pic. Quite chuffed with it. I do have a couple slightly different ones which i may stick up later on.
  4. I've just added myself to Flickr, but with only Spooks as a contact, i don't know who else is..... ...maybe we could start a wee list, so anyone new(like myself ), doesn't find it hard to add persons? I'm drb5 on here... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26251136@N07/ If it isn't a reasonable idea, let me know and i'll remove my details.
  5. Could be a dodgy pump. If it was a garage that done the job, take it back and explain.
  6. Lol, fair enough! Thanks for the info. Basically, you have a magnifying lens for a camera now. Prolly a bit "too" close-up for me, but what you have IS what i should get....when i can afford it.
  7. Anyone else think the voices are very quiet? I'm still fiddling with the audio, but it's generally too quiet without sticking the volume up really high...
  8. I was only asking as you said the lenses needed to flash, otherwise it was poor? Like you went to a zoo for example and the flash wasn't maybe needed, but lighting wasn't great either?
  9. Christ, that's a difference and a half!! Well worth the money with that comparison alone! Any way you can show the difference with and without the flash?
  10. Cheers fella. Doesn't exactly make it cheap does it? I was looking for a good macro lens, but figured the money would be better spent to replace the kit lens, as i'd use that more often. You tried a few different macro lenses in your time?
  11. Awesome pics fella. Got any more details on the lens at all?
  12. I've been very happy with my Sony A100 and i see the A200 is fairly cheap now. With the old Minolta lenses being near enough all interchangeable, theres a huge variety of secondhand lenses available on Ebay cheap. The bod has image stabilizer built in unlike Canon/Nikon, so lenses are cheaper.
  13. £30? I'm in Alexandria at work today, if you want to pick it up.
  14. I have 30 feet of 2" Cool-Tec stuff if that's enough?
  15. The perfect way to be! I'm just not like that myself, but then no 2 two people are indeed ever the same. I think that possibly DOES come down to income though. If you can afford to lose 10k in a couple of years thats fine, but i know i couldn't. I dare say i would probably be arguing a bit different if i still owned a scoob, but i know for a fact i'd be considering selling it. There was a good thread on SNET just there about if it's really necessary to have big power. We never really use it as much as we should and i dare say, the cars we have the most fun in are small engined, great handling(or maybe not even that great handling!) wee cars that in a straight line, could tear a blade of grass. I know thats the case with me... We pay all this money for big fast cars, but can't use them to their potential unless you take it to the track, but how often do we all do that anyways?
  16. Agreed, but it's a viscious circle. If one person can't afford it, neither can a lot of other people and that then get's into the cost of the car depreciating further. I know not everyone cares about that, but there will always come a time when you come to sell a car and i'm sure it'll be a concern then. BMW have done the right thing with the efficiency of their engines and Audi is following suit. Over the next 2-3 years, i think most of the manufacturers will be bringing out greener cars, so it shouldn't spell the end of a lot of high performance cars on the market....it'll just mean the older ones will lose a lot more than they are just now. Just look at the depreciation of the newages....around 15k for a 2006 Hawkeye now, bargain!
  17. How else can they get us to buy newer more economical cars though?
  18. You can see the point though can't you? When people fail to buy as many heavily using petrol cars, the manufacturers will see this and realise they need to get more out of petrol and diesel engines. Just look at what BMW are managing....their X5 diesel is in band F. That's £190 cheaper to tax than any equivilent sized 4X4. By all means, it isn't great to have to pay more, but i think it's a good thing and hope the car makers can bring out more cars that are better for the environment AND have the go we take for granted. Oh and also the government get their finger out with the bioethanol.
  19. Have a read.... http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general-1/388233-p1.html
  20. I don't think many P1 owners could say they don't use V-Power or similar....maybe even with a touch of octane booster, with their stock ECU'd car. Not everyone will run a Type-R on anything less either, so there isn't any issues at all........mine is still on it's original engine, as is a lot of other owners.
  21. Dave's RA is defo a good base, but you know what the car has been through. It's been ripped apart quite a number of times and engine and drivetrain may not be the original stuff. Not saying that's a bad thing, just saying it's something to remember. I know Coultys isn't standard, but Coultys is cheaper than the money spent on it. Daves is priced at the going rate for them.
