  1. I'd agree with that.. Changes bulbs on both sandard WRX and STI lights and it's much easier just to remove the headlight and then slot it back in. Prodrive ones are probably the same.. As james mentioned above.. 3 screws.. 2 at the front behind teh grille, and one at the top next to the wing. But there still oen more thing.. The's a peg about half way up the height of the headlight which fixes right into next to the wing It's a sod to get out first time but just be persistent and pull it will come out... Try not to damage any of the paintwork on the way out.. I've found it easier after the first time, especially when you see how it fits together..
  2. YOur not kiddin! where'd you find this one! Here's what mine were set-up for.. They didn't actually change anything it was already set like this.. Not bad after changing the springs myself FYI - the proper Prodrive setting are much the same but with a LOT more camber on the front about 1.1-1.2 IIRC But they are knows to eat tyres.. Most reccomended settings seems to be around the 0.5 range which makes sense..
  3. Not 100% convinced about the "Halvoline" logo on the boot.. But I like the chequered flag effect! Maybe lay off the Texaco logos too.. Now a V-Power logo! I'd normally agree with J10 DLY that white looks best as virgin white, but it does look quite smart in those vinyls!
  4. Heya, The standard filter is much the same... It does all fit in nicely.. Can take a fair bit of wiggling and maybe the odd trapped finger bit it will all slot in at the last minute.. Was checking my air-filter last week and found the same problem of trying to fit it back together properly...
  5. Prefer the standard vents TBH.. And if you thinking of performance, they will just add drag, disturb the airflow over the car and act as bonnet lifters.. Can't really see the point myself.. All IMHO...
  6. I'd say your entitled to something... Discount off the service sounds fair to me.. But I'd also be making sure the repair is 100% perfect!
  7. Lost for words.... That is a hell of a lot of damage... and what for..... ... Eveyone lost.. There were no winners there.... Me no understandy....
  8. In fact... The cost of V-Power doesn't seem so much compared to the other fuels.. It's too late int eh day for me to work out hte exact percentages but the relative difference between V-power and unleaded is much closer now due to the higher price. So even running on Super Unleaded probably isn't going to give you much back in return... Few months ago I was considering tryign to get 99/00 1.4l focus or somethign just for running about in(mostly too and from work dodging the deer ) in the hope for better MPG with cheap insurance and tax.. May look into that option again if the price hit's £1.50/litre I'm no expert of the subject but just for the sake of interest how much woudl it cost to run a car on methonol?
  9. LOL! Everyone has respect for a scooby Yep! At least every second Evo I meet I get a wave from... Better response that I get from fellow scoobies anyway.. But that seems to be improving.. Sounds like evo's don't have any respect for each other
  10. What about evo's? I find they are pretty reliable for a friendly wave I think for me... I'm more of a four finger sort of person (ooh-errr!)
  11. Ahh but they all drive priuses! Which were recently foudn to be just as environmentally friendly as an aferage family saloon when driven in the real world...
  12. Not sure I agree... Labour came in as I was finishing off uni and couldn't get a job to go to as nearly every company started cutting back and laying off peopel rather than recruiting... Sure they may have been peopel on the street.. But now we have the even poorer getting everythign paid for them! Don't get me wrong, I all for fairness and equality but there's equality and then theres bending over backwards for people! Regardless of opinion, the poor peopel are spending thei money on drink and drugs mostly, they get their whoel lifestyle paid for them whiel we slog it out day in day out to pay for their lives, not our own!... Maybe not all but most are.. that's their life.. They have no intentions of getting a real job as it's too easy a life without it! When they start gettign jobs they get less money and they have less free time.. Where they are now, they get everythign paid for them and 6 out of 7 days a week holiday with just one day to go down to the dole office.. If peoepl liek us get caught ina crime (speeding?) we get fined.. But some people don't care and why shoudl they drive at speed, may no tax/insurance why they cant afford it.. But they will get fined! Yeah but they have no money to pay the fine! they practically get off with it!! As for the measly 16% interest rate rise! How much has the weekly shop costing you now compared to a year ago? Loaf of bread is pushign over £1 these days! Is our salaries getting higher to compensate? Mine aint! Living on the streets ain't a good thing I know, but sowm people deserve it if they are not willing to help themselves..! Sorry rant over... Dunno where that came from...
  13. Spot on! Gus hate to disagree with you but with everything else this government has thrown at us a measly 15.9% mortgage rate seems like a much better deal!!! At least you knew where youi money went! Sadly the "other lot" are playing the same songs and it probably won't be like that any more.. They may stop the rises but theres no chance of them cutting them!!! As mentioned above, it's not just hte cost of running scoobies.. Don't have a mortgage myself (can't get one big enough) but I'd be happy to pay the high percentage compared to the paying through the nose for everythign today! So where are the strikes/blockades e.t.c PRice went up by wot 5p a coupel of years ago and all hell broke loose! Proice has gone up my near 30p the past year and what's happening.. Sod all! Something's not quite right.....
  14. It'll be the same size as the rest.. Dodgy angle of photo and there's nothing else at the top of the tinted rear window to compare it's size to.. so looks smalller..
  15. Got mine today!! Thanks Grant!
  16. Sounds pretty much spot on with the PPP exhaust I have on mine just now!
  17. I've got a prodrive/ WRSport backbox kicking around... Oval Tip.. Possibly not loud enough for ya though
  18. Agree with the eBay/HT Auto's suggestion.. Good quality splitter, very similar designs to the prodrive ones and a strong thing it is too.. Ran over mine and repaired it.. Recently whacked a deer and it's cracked but will be easily repaired again with some fibreglass kit from halfu'ds. It can take a fair clout I tell ya. As for leaving it off.. No way, not on the hawkeyes' Look far better with it on IMHO Especially the GB270/RB320's it was designed to have one!... Just take note of high kerbs in parking areas!! and possibly ramps on multi story car parks...
  19. That's lookin tidy now!! Good work by those involved! I take it it's stopped oozing out at the seems
  20. Like that idea!! Legacy looks better than new Impreza IMHO... Saw piccies of STI badged Legacies from a Prodrive open day last year.. Really smart looking machines in saloon form What I'm really looking forward to is what Subaru and STi can do with the new diesel engines. Diesel STi? That'll be one torquey son of a *****!
  21. I didn't need any time to think about it... Hopefully this will give us a good indication of numbers!
  22. Same ere! One of the back window and one for the event!
  23. Sadly not.. It's all one mould and the layout is different I could "cut off" the WRX one and rebuild the STi ones, but don't wanna break a good set of WRX lights... Handy for these sort os situations besides STi/JDM bugeye lights are like gold-dust..Although my boss offered me his old WRX headlights that he got when we swapped his for morettes on his old scooby which was nice of him but kept a hold of mine anyway.. No chance of finding anohter set of STi ones anytime soon. I'll have to build a bracket of somesort... scoobyian - I tend to agree.. Straightening that bonnet will probably crack the paint and I'll be left with a nasty looking paintless patch .. And you of all people will know how crap that'll feel. ... It's not entirely obvious so I'll try live with it for a while, but maybe see what places can offer me on a fix & re-spray.. Not ideal but if it cracks It'll look bloody awful.. and just respraying one panel will look too obvious..
  24. Here's the remains... Bracket for the near side STi Headlight is in a million bits.. No idea if it's repairable.. Really hope so as they are far better lights than the standard WRX once.. Look better too.. Here's the dent on the bonnet.. Admitedly not much but it still a dent! Hasen't broken the paint but it might if/when straightened And finally.. the look.. How dull and boring... It'll be back... dunno when but it'll be back...
  25. Thanks for the comments guys... Damn lucky!! Seems the headlight took most of the impact as it's puched a fair bit onto the chassis.. Not even sure how I'm gonna get it out TBH appears jammed on a quick inspection.. Came out from a heavily wooded area so couldn't spot it early.. Whacked it at nearly full speed (no not 150+.. but legal speeds) only just had enough time to move my foot to the brake pedal but didn't get to push it in time.. Was just praying it wasn't going to go up over the bonnet to the windscreen.. Hoestly thought the front of the car would have been mashed! But 1 mile down the road pulled into work, no temp warnings, no silly lights on the daskboard, no scraping sounds of splitter hanging off.. Got out looked aroudn and was very surprised at the lack of damage! Everythign is more or less intact. But the splitter will need patched up (again), the grill insert thingy will need re-sprayed and the headlight is mostly intact.. Numberplate is crasked at the top right corner and lost a fog cover which I'll try and fine on my way back up the road.. Biggest problems are that the mountings for the main grill right along to the headlight seem to be destroyed so all that is just laying in place rather than being secure although you can't tell that from the outside, hopefulyl the bits are lyign aroudn the engine bay/undertray somewhere and I can stick it back together. Still got my old set of WRX lights which can go back on for now, but I'll wait until I get back home later and have a good look at what's left. Structurally it seems perfect. Bumper not pushed in any, just that bloody dent on the lip of the bonnet. Thankfully aluminium but may crack the paint getting it straightened. Oxbig1, that guy at Fogwatt "Billly Adam" IIRC is apparenrly a cousing of mine so I'll try pop in past sometime this week see what he says.. Hopefully give me some good news to get it sorted.. Not the end of the world but it's still a dent.. As has been said above. Could have been soo much worse, Right off's are common in these sort of incidents and even more serious if it came through the windscreen.. Fortunately just hit it's ar$e end with that side of the car so wasn't full frontal Phew!
