  1. Signed! Croft's a nice circuit! No offence to anyone.. But we've had locals here move out from their big cities into the country and put complaints in against the local farmers because they cows were moo-ing too loudly.. and other silly reasons!! I mean C'mon! you move to the country WTF do you expect!!! THere really are poeple in this world bord and bred just to be complete B&*^$£DS!!! ..... and relax....
  2. Channels the air flowing under the car to give you more stability at high speed.. Also increases downforce by giving the base of the car a smoother surface and adjusts the airpressure difference to the air goign over the top of the car.. Bottom line: From those that have one fitted.. It's made sod all difference! it's just there to look pretty.. I still want one if the cars were a inch or two off the ground like a F1 car, it may make some difference..
  3. Keith/Elgin are your closet... I'd reccomend Keith as it's cheaper and closer
  4. Nice! Will be ordering one of those diffusers in the next couple of days... been waiting months for HT-Autos to make one!
  5. Edited first post.. Advert has now been removed from Subaru website
  6. Sweeet! Thanks for the info! Halfords tend to put this offer on at the start of summer! Good on them!
  7. http://www.subaru.co.uk/ what's todays date again Fool not removed.. here's what it was:
  8. Did the same mod a couple weeks ago.. But never noticed any difference in noise There is a tube you can buy (not UK) to fill the gap you mention: http://boostkits.com/product_info.php?products_id=815 Same place is on Ebay but prices are pretty much the same.. Not cheap but does keep the standard airflow..
  9. Curious to know what your doing there! Potentially the best way is as mentioned above, get a cigarette lighter adapter and hide it somewhere out of sight.. Trying to work out something similar at the mo for an Onbard Computer For some daft reason I get 4v on the dipped headlight circuit when just my sidelights are on.. Don't ask me why cause I've no idea.. Wouldn't mind knowing though..
  10. I'm afraid it was a genuine model. Released in December 98 it was designed to give the japanese a more retro styled Impreza. 5000 were made 1.5l auto with the option of either FWD or AWD. I "think" availabel in both saloon and estate version.. Available in Silver, BLue or Purple! Apparently... However.. The Subaru "Operretta" was a much nicer looking machine. Concept in 95.. Never made production... http://drischnie.homeip.net/www.subaru-imp...en/Operetta.htm
  11. Have to admit.. I'd seen the pic before but I thought it was just a custom model someone had done.. Didn't realise it was actually a production model!
  12. And all you classic owners thought you had the best lookng impreza's! LOL! I'd have my bugeye and maybe even a hatchback over that any day! Just as well the rallying thing was going well for them in the late 90's..
  13. And a warm fuzzy feeling inside for supporting the club
  14. I'd say yes it is a proper special edition .. And probably better than most of the previous ones.. Early days of classics there wasn't always the performance boost, but rather just styling mods.. The later ones e.g. RB5 was basically a standard impreza Turbo with all the prodrive goodies on it some with the option of havign the old PPP upgrade! That's what the GB270 is and with the latest 2.5l and updated PPP it's potentially one of the quickest and most drivable ones to date!.. It's a WRX with all the prodrive bits on it.. Worthy of a special edition. admitedly the 22B was effectively more special and the P1 was more or less an STi with prodrive bits, as is the RB320. But yes your right that the GB270 was used to sell stock.. They held back the number of blue saloons specifically for creating GB270's.. But then maybe that's been done for all specials.. I'd like to get the figures for how many Red Mica Impreza's were made.. It's widely known that black Impreza's are "apparently" rare because they only mande a limited number of them.. But surely Red Mica is more exclusive? the colour was only used for 3 years I think it was... Our own little private special edition
  15. Nice! Got the front calipers on mine repalced by godspeed last year.. Got the white radiator paint and a thin brush out for the lettering then a layer of lacquer on the top... Must give them a good clean next time the wheels are off
  16. If it was a standard WRX or STi then yeah it can look nice if done properly.. personal choice as to what to go for.. I like seeing the odd car stickered up.. But on a special edition.. I wouldn't...
  17. Recently bought a couple 12v cameras for the Scoob and they have BNC connectors fitted as standard.. Coax suggest some sort of TV/Video signal.. Looking a the location of the socket.. COudl have been used for an internal onboard camera at somepoint. Potentially with a Digital video recorder/PC in the boot.. The 3.5mm jack is most likely 12v source to power a camera.. IMHO
  18. Not really a fan of photoshopping photos myself either... But #2 and #3 look sweet! IDeally need to be blown up to poster size!!
  19. That does sound odd... Maybe it's demand for the older saloon models as the hatchbacks aren't selling as well as older models? (Not slating, just thinking of a genuine possibility)
  20. Always wave to scoobies... regardless of age/model... But of there no scoop I'll maybe wait a few metres first till I identify whether or not they are wearign an old tartan cap.. In which case I'll resist the urge to wave incase they get scared Don't flash the lights much.. but sometimes do to fellow SIDC members. Still wavign to Evo's on a regular basis.. about 50% return these days.. Guy in Red Evo gave me a very blank look today..
  21. *drool* So when's the De-Tango mod scheduled for? Good collection of scoobs you got there.. I've got a soft spot for the special editions!...
  22. God dammit!! Along with attempted thefts, this petty vandalism is increasing more and more.. WTF!! Maybe we should start a Group Buy on CCTV systems!
  23. Same for the newage
  24. I would like to try arrange a meet up inverness since Scooby222 is out of the area.. But past week things have gotten pretty mad for me and it looks set to continue for the next short while .. But I'm sure if some of you guys from Inverness wanna plan something feel free to do so! If I'm free I'll try make it up if there is a meet!
  25. Simple.. if the tyres are wearing out prematurely like that your camber is either off by quite a bit or your not doing enough left hand cornering! Just because someone can do alignment doesn't mean they know how to do it right! I'd definately get it done after fitting new wheels/tyres.. Also Progrip is probably the place to go.. Give them an idea of your driving style and they should be able to adapt the settings to suit.. You will get more cornering grip with more camber, but you will wear out the edges of the tyres quicker.. It's a trade off.. BTW - The famous "Prodrive" settings are to harsh for public roads and were known to wear out the insides of tyres due to the 1.1degree of camber! Standard settings are 0.3degrees IIRC but ideally somewhere aroudn 0.6 and 0.9 is a good balance for road use..
