FYI - Newage ECU's dont fully reset with eh battery disconnect They need to be software reset.. But they do learn quicker than the older ECU's.. Can still take up to 2 tank fulls of good stuff though if it hasn't been reset for a while.. As above.. Best option is to try go for a reset then fill her up with Vpower and hopefulyl that'll sort thigns out.. But if theirs fault codes to be had, best to find out what they are first!

Stolen Series Mcrae- South Queensferry

Yep same option is available on the standard bugeye alarm (and proabably others).. Not convenient for every day use as it means setting off the alarm every time.. But if the car is left alone for any length of time, that feature woudl be used.. Full Lockdown by disabling the keyfobs.. If anyone want's to know the option on teh std alarm lemme know. I've got a manual for them all somewhere... The blackjax system let you get in as normal and drive off.. But if you dont type int eh pin code in a cartain time the car shuts down and sounds the alarm.. IDea is that if you are carjacked you hadn over the keys and get yourself to s asafe place to call the police.. System is automatically activated when a door is opened. SO jacker gets in drives off.. 2 miles down teh road the car shuts down for no apparent reason.. There's no warning inside the car that a system like that is active!! It's one of the best systems I've heard of.. BTW - The RB320's have a fancy alarm system with rediculous features... GPS trackign and car stats sent to your mobile! WTF! . o O (Dear god! my typing is getting worse!) -
This is getting outta hand! THink th next mod for the car is a 10,000v electified cage!! Hopefully ferensics (sp?) can do somethign with the helmet.. Times like this I wish I had insider info as to whether all these thefts are linked to a certain group or whether it is just a case of general increase in vehicle thefts in teh country!

I'll have to check but I think the ones my bruv has had fitted he could set it to force you to type the code every time you set-off.. The alarm has a silly amount of options IIRC.. Inconvenient for hte owner as you have to type in teh code everytiem you drive off /open a door.. But it is secure.. -
Could just be the fuel.. It can make a fair difference on performance cars!! Quick indication of turbo failure is generally blue smoke out the exhaust particularly when cold and revs slightlly..

We still don't know what SCoobyDOom is getting his hands on.. He's giving nothing away (& I've tried).. I have a feeling it 'may' be a classic.. But we'll see..

This is getting silly! Surely someone will see a series mcrae around! Hope you get it back safe and soon mate! P.s. Anyone fancy organising a group buy on decent clifford systems with blackjax? -
Good choise! Me likey the hawkeyes! But just how the hell did an ECU get fried on such a new car P.s.

I think everyone has said that... I'll get round to it eventually... Apart from the wheels that's me happy with all the outside stuff now! (well apart from a couple of onboard cameras

CooL! thanks to the info! Were all Uk300's fitted with PPP? I remember reading a UK300 brochure somewhere and the standard spec was 218ps but there was an optional upgrade, "WRSport Performance Pack" option boosting power to 245ps ? I could have misread it and it was comparing the standard car to the UK300.. P.s. Not being picky.. Just want to make sure my knowledge is accurate Thanks!

Arrived yesterday.. ! Fitted with bumper installed.. Bit of a pain TBH but not impossible.. Sadly had to drill new holes for the furthest forward parts of the side sections.. They were precisely inline for a plastic bracket thing inside the bumper.. No biggy though, just moved them an inch out.. Other than that, perfect fit! Screwheads finished off with black hammerite :thumb:

Not 100% sure on that.... The origonal PPP for the bugeye's were a addon chip the ECU whcih brought power on bugeyes up from 218ps to 245ps (or there abouts, woudl have to check), it wasn't until the blobeye circa 2003, that the PPP consisted of a ECUTek map which brought power to the 265ps..... But! if you bought a bugeye and got PPP fitted before 2003 you got the mod chip.. After 2003 and they fitted the new remap version which had more kick! Also means the UK300's (with PPP) weren't the full 265ps as I've seen in classifieds due to the confision of different generations of PPP Would be interested to know whent he cut off was... of course this depends on whether or not it's a bugeye or very early blobeye..

That makes sense.. & worth looking into Thanks guys! Will report back if I find anything!

Admitedly I didn't physically check it as it means whipping off the intercooler and stuff.. But did check the signal from the ECU and it seems to be toggling as expected.. But yeah.. coudl be intermittent... Curous though.. As to how a Neutral position sensor can result in a misfire? Is that because the ECU detects the switch flicking to neutral and buggers up the timing?

Good chance of it... Twould have been my first guess too but though best to ask unless it could be something obscure.. No idea when they were last changed.. Long overdue methinks.. I've not changed them since I go thte car 24k miles ago : was hoping AWD would be kind enough to do them at next service Had a fiddle around, checked MAF and few other electrical plugs and tubes.. Northing obvious.. Did notice that the air intake into teh wing was a bit loose so re-seated that.. Re-set the ECU and went for a leasurely 20 minute drive.. SO far so good.. Will check again tomorrow morning see if I ge teh same sort of symptoms.. Was colder than normal.. thought maybe condensation in the intake... Strange it was at cruising speed, no load/heavy throttle.. Hmnn.... Don't like unknowns...

LOL If it is.. He'll be getting his friggin legs broken! Thanks Iain... Any easy way to test the sensor rather than swap it out?

Ok.. Just how on earth do you go about dianosing a cylinder misfire? On way in to work this morning.. Noticed that every so often the car would jolt slightly as though it was missing a beat.. THis was just runnign at 60mph with a light throttle to keep the speed. Happened again down at lower speed in 2nd gear.. again just keeping constant speed. On way home from work, all felt ok.. But then CEL started flasshing then a minite later stayed on! Got home and got the codes read from the ECU Cylinder 1 Misfire Cylinder 3 Misfire Yoiks!! Where do you start diagnosing such a thing? No tubes/connectors loose anywhere.. No signs of oil spurting from strange places.. Only recent changes to the car recently was a air intake resonator removal a couple weeks back.. Is this likely to give me this problem? Any help appreciated!!! Really don't wan't to drive it until I can find what's wrong... Thanks,

-
Yep.. was 95.9p a couple weeks ago.. Sneaky Budget increase which went more or less un-noticed at the start of april
-
Assuming there no false advertising you should be okay with any 99ron rated fuel.. However there was a recent thread on here which decided that V-Power is the one to stick with.. although other high octane fuels were cheaper and and perhaps didn't do any harm to the car.. THe general concensus is that the Shell stuff felt sharper with a bit more kick than the others.. FYI - Update on Local Fuels.. Apparently the prices have started goign up again after 1st April.. But Filled up at keith this afternoon, 97.9p !

Infact! if that guy doens't want it.. Package it up, send it up here and I'll stick it in the fields across the road where they are threatanign to build a bloody Golf Course!!! I'd much rather have a sportscar in flames fly through my house than a golf ball!
