  1. Cheers again chaps! How happy are we that we have a wagon!!! Plus point we've got him a little Recaro seat for the back what i am less impressed with is Emma's Ford Fusion... supposedly a family car and newer than the Scoob it doesn't have isofix points for the seat (Scoob does yay for Subaru!) which is quite poor on the part of the blue oval i think! 5t.
  2. Can you not get it re-bored slightly larger and just use a slightly bigger bolt? i had to do that with my old GSX when replacign the exhaust and it's the same block (not sure about the effect on the cam holder though) apologies if this is useless! 5t.
  3. Cheers guys! Aye sorry about the loss of Snow White this year but we'll deffo be back next year to help with fundraising and stuff, luckily we haven't needed Yorkhill but i can't imagine what it is like for those that do. At least we'll be able to supply Snow white and a dwarf next time! Mum and baby both fine, getting in good practise with the early start so i can be at work early, take a flyer and get to the visiting sessions! Drinkign the V-Power travellign between Edinburgh and Stirling! 5t.
  4. Central meet (and some Glasgow peeps) might be aware that we were expecting a wee delivery and it has finally arrived! Little lad we are naming Luke, 6lb 12oz which is a fair size considering mum is tiny. Everyone doing well. He actually arrived on Monday at exactly midday but beena bit busy as you can guess so bit late with the news. He's about half an hour old in the pic, possibly not even that. 5t.
  5. Well done Bailey. Great move by you! Get some links up to your other stuff in the for sale section! Personally i don't trust anyone that says they'll donate to charity, at the end of the day these are being flogged for a profit, these people should be honest. Can the team ask the auctioneer's to donate money back to them and confirm if and when this happens so we at least know they haven't lied (as i suspect they have) 5t.
  6. Saw an Evo 10 yesterday in that blue colour they had on TG. About 1:30pm heading to Forth Bridge up the A90..... On the back of breakdown wagon!!! heh 5t.
  7. Also, what car do you actually have? Even a cold air induction kit isn't really recommended unless you are going for big power and a front mount intercooler. If the car is a newage, Prodrive don't even recommend putting a panal filter in there either as it is supposed to be excellent as standard. Andy F also told me not to bother with a filter but to spend the money on a hose kit for the intercooler, the standard unit is quiet restrictive and replacign it will have a bigger impact on performance. Good luck. 5t.
  8. That's what these things used to be isn't it? Credit due they've got better but still a scam. Hope you aren't thinking VTA either.... 5t.
  9. vortex doodaa eh? all you need now is a zipadee spolier and you've got the full set get pics up! 5t.
  10. You can get ACU Gold lids for less than £200. It is the minimum standard you want to go for really. Once this has been achieved the thing you really want to look for is the fit. I like shark but a lot of people don't get on with them because the visor can seem quite narrow. However, i don't like Shoei as they seem very tight at the bottom. Basically try a few and see what you will be comfy in. Shuberth are meant to be good and as a bonus have the extra visor in for sunny days and legal black visor riding. Gloves, I have the Alpinestars Road Tech gloves, same as the cops use and boots Alpinestars SMX-4 waterproof which have been spot on. That said i only bought them because Hein Gerike didn't have and SIDI Black Rain in my size an excellent low price boot. Everything else depends on what weather you will be riding in and how far really! A decent HG jacket should keep you dry for the majority of the summer at a good price. Mind that not everythign they sell has CE armour in it though so make sure you get that or you might as well not bother. 5t.
  11. Mate's first car was an A plate Astra in that flat sky blue they did. Nicknamed the Millenium Astra as it was the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy (Star Wars reference more applicable to the junk part of that sentence). He bumped no end of things and it just bounced off with it's metal bumpers. Proper cast iron car! 5t.
  12. First car Fiesta Pop Plus. Didn't even have an electric pump for the windows (rubber ball on floor) Then i had a wee little Gold mini Mayfair (not this one) Follwoed by a blaze orange 1275Gt which looked a lot better than this one I then had some random stuff, Nova SR, Mazda 323F even a Micra before buying an XR3i. Loved this car, so reliable. followed by an FTO GPX another great car. Only sold it because i put so many miles on her. Followed that with a Supra. Had i 6 months before written off (non fault) Before finally bagging the Scoob! 5t.
  13. Seems to be cases like this. They pull you for one thing and it is worth them adding to the list although probably won't actually get you a pull. Central police do pull/check for it at the cruise nights though. Seen them a few times in the car park at the Tesco pulling in random cars for checks and having the window down doesn't seem to work! It's why funny numberplates are a real bad idea as they will get you a pull at which point you can expect a ticket for loud exhaust/whatever else they can find since they've got you. Some sort of cloaking device is the way forward. 5t.
  14. TBH any tint will make your car illegal. Actually a law i agree with as it is designed to stop people pulling out of junctions at night. You would drive in your shades at night would you? That said at least warn people on a first offence. Points is a tad harsh. 5t.
  15. Correct. I joined anyway (always join the owners club with a new car) but as my first service was the cambelt and came to £350 i got my SIDC membership back straightaway. since then i've bought mats etc from Grieves all with discount. Advert over! 5t.
  16. And there you have it. At least you have a while to wait for the biggie. Never had a problem with Grieves and you will get 10% off as a SIDC member... 5t.
  17. Smart looking car there chap. Must be waxed more than Pam Anderson's crotch in the Baywatch days. 5t.
  18. Would depend if it was part of the deal or not. If you specifically asked for a service they would have have done it and stamped the book. If you didn't then chances are it needs a service. 20k can be a fairly costly one too as a lot of fluids need swapping. Worth having a word and seeing what they can do for you. My 60k (which i think is the same more or less as the 20k) was £350+VAT 5t.
  19. sorry. just trying to help some of them might have been members if not scottish scoobie members. no further ideas. 5t.
  20. Could go outside the club - Dave Richards/the Prodrive team for allowing the use of the Prodrive facilities like that...? 5t.
  21. You got the ones either just before or just after me but they were Green 340's so no luck (nothing out the ordinary there then!) 5t.
  22. Same as the original McRae stickers that we had approved. Loads of rip off merchants on ebay cashing in. One of those situations that makes you hope divine retribution is possible. 5t. EDIT - report sent. Might be worth a nudge to Prodrive. Sure their lawyers could get this sorted.
  23. Thanks mate. they are one of the ones we spoke to. Seem realyl good but wouldn't write down the £500 a month valuation on a letter head for us until we agreed to use them for the business Thing is, mortgage provider wanted a letter from a recognised letting agency before they'd give us consent to let so it was a bit of a chicken and egg situation! 5t.
  24. Thanks all. Better than i was hoping. We spoke to one agent and yes, they seem to want a lot of wedge for the work which we are unsure about as some friends of ours were left well out of pocket after an agency rented their place to some total chavs who nicked everything, including the carpet! We're not looking to make money, just pay the mortgage. Just no point trying to sell now and we need to move before the wee one arrives hence the rental solution. Dtabbit and DR, cheers for the recommendations, always good to have someone who has been there before! scoobyit, be good to hear from you. 5t.
  25. I had the belts etc (50k service so oil the lot) at Grieves and it was £300 They checked the tensioner and said it was ok and didn't need replacing this time round (although it often does). Given they were honest and didn't do unnecessary work I have to recommend them for it. 5t.
