  1. Ok, apologies if this turns into a long post but it is a situation i have never been in before and since things are a bit different up here in Scotland i wondered if anyone has any experience or could give a view of this and see if they think it is even worth while defending... Basically, like a lot of people we have a factor agent for the flat. Like many factor agents they take a lot of money to do sod all and are in a word shat. For over four years we had an issue with damp in the stairwell of the place. It was new build so a simple call to the builder should have sorted it. It never happened. To try to get something done i witheld their fee each month, plus some other charges i disagreed with. It still didn't work. However, getting trading standards in finally worked so after four and a half years they finally fixed it and tried to charge us all a fortune for something that should have been fixed for free. Happily trading standards got them to drop that too. However, we still have the issue of the rest of the fees. Bear in mind at no poitn have i refused to pay for a job that was being done properly but their role is to maintain the building which for 4.5 years they failed to do. If i didn't bother doing my job for that long i'd expect to be sacked. I can't sack them so i did the only thing i could which was to not pay them. I did pay all the other fees and sent letters each time stating why and what the payment was for. They are now wanting to go to court for the payment. I have offered to negociate but they have refused to deal. Now i know that for small claims court both parties should show that they have attempted to negociate so i think i'm one up there but since it is all in a contract etc, do i have any chance at all or am i just goign to have to pay them off? Thoughts please! They have said they'll abide by whatever the sheriff decides which to me doesn't sound like small claims... also if we do lose am i likely to get proper hit with a big stick like a damaged credit rating or something? Just trying to stand up to The Man™ cheers, 5t.
  2. One of the dirtiest cars i've ever seen. Could only tell from the shape it was a newage saloon, couldn't see reg plate badges or anything. I think it was bug but can't even be sure of that! Whoever you are - give it a wash! seriously, if i was the cops i'd pull the car just for the rear plate. 5t
  3. Well done getting them! Bad news like. I'd be tempted to callt he cops anyway just to show you are serious. They'll make sure the detials given were the right ones.... 5t.
  4. 215s i think. Mine had 215 on as standard. You can go 225 from what i was reading (when i was looking into new tyres) but the handling might be compromised with extra roll in the corners. 5t.
  5. Bah! Hate not having the interwebs at home having missed out on all the banter now! Good to catch up with various people (and a shame not to catch up with some especially our event organiser so a big public thanks for sorting it out). Thanks to Pmac and STI Pretender for the baby advice too and i'm sure they'll tell you 'asleep' is not the standard status of a baby! 5t.
  6. Congrats. We're still not sleeping after our new arrival in December... still fab though! 5t
  7. Last few times i've had to drive through or past on a croooze night the cops have been all over the place. I actually got pulled on the way back from a SIDC Central meet to see if was my car! About 10 mins from me though 5t.
  8. Aye i suggested it as a starting point in the convoy thread!! Can always walk up to the Wheel and use their cafe/toilets etc. 5t.
  9. Ed that's brilliant. That's the wee access panel i was looking in and i think i know the lever you mean. The issue i have now is tha handle is broken so will have to hope for the best! Basically screwed 5t.
  10. That's the issue, i can get into the boot but no idea how to make it release. There is a very small access panel right in the middle but i can't see a thing in there! wondered if there might be a certain wire to pull or something. If i can get the boot open i can take off the trim panel and fix it but right now i'm stuck! Cheers for the thoughts though guys. 5t.

  12. Bit of a disaster over the weekend, The Mrs went to get the baby buggy out of the back of the wagon and the blinking handle has bust! Doesn't seem connected to anything now and we can't open the boot. I know that to get the the mechnaism i need to take the panel off inside the car but i am also sure that it held in place by those plastic pop rivets.... which you can't get to without opening the boot! Arrrgh! Anyone know how to open or even if you can open the boot from inside at all before i go on an expensive trip to Grieves? please!!! 5t.
  13. Nope totally standard suspension on mine which made me wonder if yours really was caused by the springs. Back to the drawing board for me it seems! 5t.
  14. Hmmm... i've got the same issue as Richie, the clunk seems to come from the front rather than the rear (had the rear struts replaced under warrenty but as an 03 car it is now well out for that) It doesn't do it all the time and i've had the front checked durign the MOT nothing leaks, everything seems tight but sometimes, just rolling to a stop there is a noticable mettalic clunk or 'pop'. Is this likely to be the start of a shock job? Any chance of Grieves sortign this outside warrenty too? 5t.
  15. It really i a doddle. I bought the lead from Halfrauds and fitted the whole lot in the car park! 5t.
  16. Gutting. Can't believe this especially how fast it has happened. Thoughts with you all. 5t.
  17. All the best. Please keep us informed of his progress. 5t.
  18. Was it outside your house? Bad news if it is. Don't have any local chavs do you? Gutted for you though. 5t.
  19. Brilliant work guys! Well done all. 5t.
  20. That's Motorhead! We missed out. Was actually offered two tickets via ticketmaster but it wouldn't say where they were for. With the mrs having mobility issues i couldn't risk top tier jobs and Hampden wouldn't answer the phone for the disabled access ones. Bit miffed really! 5t.
  21. I work for a PR company. The clients we have are stickign in, we do a good job and they realise that now is the time they need to either be in the news shouting about good stories to their shareholders or managing the disasters! Luckily not too many of those. Where we are seeing issues is in the new business pipeline. People who know us are staying put, people who don't do PR are now even less likely to it seems. On that note if anyone is looking for some PR support* at a cracking rate let me know heh! 5t * includes media training, event support, press office and crisis management. No spin and no bolly dharlink!
  22. Once we stop running around like idiots we'll be happy to help! Everyone home now and feeling fine after a slight worry about jaundice. Currently all we know is that he takes after his dad and likes his food! We've got a Recaro Profi Plus/Young Xpert seat as part of the buggy/pram thing and it is a bit of a pain to fit if you want it forward facing but only faces backwards if you use the seatbelt. I'm sure it is for safety reasons or something but it means you can't keep an eye on him while driving which is a bit poor. Glad your wee ones are doing ok Pmac - even if they weren't that wee anymore at the McRae Gathering off! 5t.
