  1. Doh, didn't see this... I think my post is about the same accident... Micra sounds right. Some sort of bubble shaped car at least, thought it might have been a Citroen but now you've said Micra.... 5t. P.S. did actually look to see if anyone had posted too!
  2. Heading home last night through the Barnton junction in Edinburgh (going towards Forth Bridge) and there were several cars at the side of the road... A Citroen i think with rear damage, then another car couldn't tell what i was and then a dark blue classic with the front all stuffed in. Looked like the scoob had gone up the back of the Citroen at least and pushed them into the next one. Should be fun sorting out the insurance (although didn't look like anyone would be injured). 5t.
  3. I did. Five days. CBT on monday, test on Friday. Passed no problem! Well worth it and around 5 or 6 hours on the road each day means you really get to grips quite fast (well if you have some sort of aptitude for it!). Currently ride a CBR 1100XX aka Super Blackbird. Brilliant bike although the seat could be comfier given touring potential. 5t.
  4. i'm sure it can be done without removing anything... you just need to find someone with small hands... if you loosen the lamp, be careful not to scrape it across the bumper. 5t.
  5. Can't believe the question needs to be asked. These scammers should have been shut down a long time ago. did you put no canvassers on the ad? if so, tell them where to go. Actually, tell them to advertise it and if you get a sale from them you'll give them the money. Nothing up front. You'll be surprised at how quickly they fail to put their money where their mouth is. 5t.
  6. Terrible news chap. We seem to be a less and less exclusive club right now
  7. I think they can actually...I was just going on the wagon in the pic... although it seems like it is from elsewhere on the car now so bit of a relief (i hope) 5t.
  8. That's interesting news. I did have oil coming from the sump plug, new washer and ptfe tape couldn't stop it. Basically the sump and the bolt are different types/strengths of metal and the threads wear out... The good news is the sump off a classic will fit and you can pick one up second hand. The bad news is that replacing the sump on a newage means lifting the engine and fair bit of labour is involved. Sorry 5t.
  9. Excellent day for it. Seemed a bit dull when i did it... but that's deliberate with Andy using bigger roads so you don't get the sense of speed. Once you set off home and put your foot down occasionally that's when you really realise what has been done! 5t.
  10. Hello chap! Nice choice of car!
  11. Intercooler could be worth more if it has the pipes underneath... 5t.
  12. They might not have... without knowing how they did it they might have taken the ones with keys in or they could get keys for. Even in bits a 22b is going to be difficult to move. If they did know what they were lifting i'd expect it to be on a boat somewhere by now heading for Russia or some other Eastern Block mafia zone. Shocked that their either wasn't a tracker or it failed to help. 5t.
  13. TBH i would ask Andy. He'll advise you on what he thinks will work best and he might recommend something else you can do if you let him know the spec of the car 5t.
  14. Keep the bike and sleep in the car! Seriously, hope this works out for you dude. See it as an opportunity to sort out anything else that's been bugging you too and move on with things. 5t.
  15. it is actually a real process but some viruses disguse themselves as this. What anti virus you using? cscan should do it as it is a fairly old virus i think... if you don't have an AV app then try this http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Fr...4-10320142.html but you should have something on there (even if it just needs updating). If you laptop is too slow to use put it on a usb through a different pc then run it with your laptop offline. 5t.
  16. No... but i've had the car now for just over 3 years on 3.5 year finance. Also I paid 5k cash and took 6 on finance so as not to wipe out all the savings (needed for house purchase) because of that, I am hoping the payout will cover the finance ok... the excess is £300 I'm saying 6k for a 03 wagon, that sound about right to you Gav? ScoUK cheers dude, i know what you mean. The cross member above the light does look a bit funny but a lot of the safety block material is actually still attacehd to the car, just very crispy! It looks charred but not as though the member has warped. Still can't see it coming back though, she's got nearly 90k on the clock so I can't see it being an economical repair. Stonking engine in it though and you'd never know the miles on it without checking the odo Hope to hear in next couple of days... 5t.
  17. Update - Tow truck just arrived, bloke re-attached the battery and she fired up straightaway, still sounds lovely. He did say the throttle was 'a bit stiff' though. Seems such a shame seeing it drag the bits of bumper over the road and away. Might be the last time she runs Can't see bonnet, bumper, lights and possible wiring loom coming to less than 3k so has to be written off. 5t.
  18. A-Plan/Marker Study. Guess i'll find out soon. already had to give them a stern word because they didn't want to collect it for a few days and it's blocking the work garage! grr. 5t.
  19. cheers all. Just need to know what it is worth now in case they go to write it off...
  20. No idea but i think it looks electrical. The scorch/melting bonnet suggests it was concentrated forward of the engine. Parked in work garage, next thing (well 10 mins later) fire alarm, smoke and merry blaze on the go 5t.
  21. ...sorry chaps. You never know, it might polish out... 5t
  22. Hmmmm... Most fun - Mini 1275GT Best for pulling - Mitsubishi FTO Best all rounder - The Scooby Best memories - could be a number here but i think i have to say my XR3i it was the unloved Mk5 but it was very comfy, had nicely weighted sterrign when it was going, you never saw another one and it was in a loverly Cayman Blue metallic which looked green most of the time except under harsh flu lights (like at a petrol station) when it looked a deep blue. People used to comment on it, don't get that too ofetn with an Escort. 5t.
  23. Good to have another wagon in the area. Will keep an eye out for you chap! 5t.
  24. Just logged on and seen this. Amazing, got to be mistaken identity. I tell you what chap, get the local rag round and do a "who would do this" type pic story with them. The police will do little but splashing that stuff around means they might well have come home covered in it... someone might shop them if they know it was targeted at the wrong person etc... just a thought. 5t.
