  1. Well, as most of the Central group are aware (having seen the bump) we're expecting a new arrival in December. Since we live in a flat, that's got to go as we need a house now! However, given the current market, we've decided to rent the flat out but don't really have any experience and don't want to get ripped off by a dodgy agency. Looking at prices £500 seems to be what they are going for (nice, modern place in Falkirk - in fact another the same as ours is up for £550) so does anyone have any advertising tips/places that have worked or an agency recommendation? Indeed, does anyone work for an agency that could help out? cheers, 5t.
  2. Cool that's the one i thought. Never thought of it as particularly long though! Think the last time i went down there it was covered with Highland Coos so had to keep the speed down! 5t.
  3. Which Glen Nevis road? I'm sure i've been on it but i am struggling to picture it! Also like the road from the back of Oban down towards Glasgow. That's some funky tarmac. 5t.
  4. Hmm, filter £8 and oil about £40 if you do it yourself (depending on oil) Only issue i found doing my blob is actually getting the filter off. Didn't remove the undertray and trying to get through the wee access panel is a mare! Probably a good trick somewhere but i didn't find it! Worth the effort for peace of mind though. 5t.
  5. Certianly different chap. Doesn't look that high in real life, slope of the drive might have affected it a bit! Tints on silver look good (on the back at least - don't do the front or Boris' colleagues will make you take em off again!) 5t.
  6. It was a riot watching the coverage of people moving about on the back lanes. Amazing that we were still at the front after all that. More amazing we were on the line up right outside Prodrive when the convoy started and never even noticed VBH driving the white 08!!! Did sound well as it rumbled past us though. 5t.
  7. Heh we were thinking that as we came back up the road in the rain. surprised absolutely everyone seemed to leave saturday! thought a few more would have been staying over and we made the comment it wouldn't have been great camping in the rain. what time did you get back? and yes it was getting a bit stalker like, can't believe how many times we were following each other in a convoy that size! 5t.
  8. Got back to Edinburgh about 12 Neil so can't have been that far apart. We did a steady 75ish on the Mway although the journey wasn't as steady up the A702 As we were sharing we filled up before we left and when we got back so 2 and a quarter tanks in total. not bad really. Went down on one (350 miles, 50 litres and red light a glow) and used the extra bit with the higher speed coming back. Not bad for a well modified car running at 3000rpm at 70mph! 5t.
  9. For a first time event it went really well. i think everyone had a good time and hopefully those few i overheard being grumpy will have a re-think! well done the organisers, well done the people on the bridges and well done the vast majority of owners that followed the rules! 5t.
  10. Me and Scoobysounds made it to Carlisle before refuelling when we got passed by Higgy and a couple of others. total fuel cost was £130 so better than hoped for. 5t.
  11. Plus you need to insist on speaking to Gary as the others don't handle the discounts. Might not be able to do anything noww but if you are registered on Scoobynet you could drop him a PM there. 5t.
  12. Anyone leaving Falkirk on the morning able to give me a lift to meet up with Scoobysounds? We're travelling together but as he's Edinburgh it's 15 mile extra on the journey so be good to catch him at Lanark. Anyone able to help out? Cheers, 5t.
  13. Thanks chap. will give them a call. Was hoping the end of september might be cheap time/low season. guess not! 5t.
  14. I got him no problem. Quote was good. Paperwork out nice and speedy. No issues. Of course i haven't made a claim (touch wood) and that's when customer service really comes into it but as for the 'buying expereince' no problems at all. I had a-Plan on my FTO they were great for a year then tried to jack the price right up for the second year so I left quick smart! 5t.
  15. Nip over to Scoobynet and get the details for Moley. Did us a good deal on same mods and age. 5t.
  16. Hi there, visiting from the Scottish section... Looking to go to the Isle of Man in September (just for the sake of it not to see any particular races) does anyone know a good cheap place to stay (preferably self catering cottage type thing) that will sleep four blokes (in their own beds although twin rooms allowed) that is within staggering distance of a pub? Basically want to spend a few days touring round but we'd like to do it as cheap as we can (without sleeping in a skip) it is our guys week away (looking to come monday and leave friday) so we just want somewhere we can dry our kit if we get wet and sit and have a blether over a few beers either at the cottage or in the pub. Other things to see/do also needed as we'll have 3 full days on the island and we aren't just there for the bikes and blasting over the moun tain. two of the bikes are Pan Europeans with 60 year olds on them! All suggestions welcome. cheers, 5t.
  17. Money is the same reason i can't make it though. Even 3 tanks is £180 and with accomodation and food it just isn't possible right now. To say i'm gutted is an understatment but needs must so will just have to swallow it. 5t.
  18. 9r Ninja then. Pulls like a train! Only Revs to 11k that's when the R6 hits its stride! If you are anywhere near us this weekend say hello chap. Looking to get a good pic with a fair few bikes (although weather not looking the best!) 5t.
  19. We hit them for the Coast Rode stuff. Apparently they tend not to do stuff like this anyway. I know someone in central area had an arrangement with them for the Richard Burns tour and they pulled out at the last minute. BP were the latest to get a big serve on the PR front thanks to profits, might be worth trying them for the BP race fuel sponsorship.... 5t.
  20. Nothing wrong with a 6r! Loved my G2 Ninja. Nothing like this beast of course, quite old world compared to the new electric throttle on the R6 but a great bike that could keep up with most of the better but badly ridden machinery! Replaced it with a 9r for the lower end grunt and now having to work out how to ride this thing as it always sounds like it is revving its nuts off! 5t.
  21. Aye you'll need a proper spray job rather than dent devils. not had it done i'm afraid so can't recommend anyone. Gutting though chap. 5t.
  22. That might explain why it was introduced to me as an R6 version R... Has a titanium exhaust on it and that may also account for the noise. Been up to Glen Ogle today and through Aberfoyle. Loves a smooth bend but it is very hard on the wrists! dtabbit - not sure i'd want to go for first pillion ride on the back of a Blade either! That said, i'm bad as a passenger in anything. Even in the car i end up braking and wanting to steer if i'm not driving!!! 5t.
