Not sure but something like this could well be electrical. Something gets hot, overheats and breaks down but is fine when cold. Would see if you can recreate the issue at home by getting the car nice and hot close to home.... 5t.

Also just stuck the Falkens on and while there is a bit more road noise they seem excellent now they are scrubbed in. Very nearly got some much sticker rubber from Fai but in the end couldn't justify the cost over brand new boots. The only issue with ordering from Camskill (i'm another customer) is findign someone to fit the rubber to rims for a reasonable fee. 5t.

That was what Andy told me. Standard STI filter/airbox good for 350hp so no need to change unless you want to. He advised upgrading the intercooler hoses instead. The standard newage ones are quite narrow and restrictive (not sure about classics) 5t.

Door Locked, Lights Out And Hiding Behind Sofa

Mystery Machine + Andy Accident was two years ago now so been a fair while. What i would say is the Supra was deceptive one a good road with how fast it could go. Mine had HKS suspension on it and had been lowered. Normally this would mean back jarring ride quality but the car just soaked them up while staying flat through the bends. It could certainly go for a big car. The WRX (wagon, standard suspension) certainly rolls a lot more. The size was a good and bad thing. The WRX is huge really, well practical at least but never feels massive. The Supra felt like a big heavy bruiser. Great for touring, bit like a GT type thing. It was tricky int he wet though, foot down on a straight wet road would produce a rear end waggle as the tyres struggled to grip. Also, totally impractical with that boot/back seats! Afterwards the mrs said i had to get a practical vehicle "like an estate or something" so i turned up with a WRX wagon and we haven't looked back. That said i miss the Supra, just looked lovely from all angles. 5t. -

It was a total gonner chap. Only happened at about t30mph but hit something like that and it isn't going to be good. Bonnet back through the windscreen and the lot. Engine block never moved though. with the wing peeled back you can see the massive girder holding the block in place. Well build cars! At least it was a non fault claim, paid up in a matter of weeks. crash was 2nd December and i bought the Scooby as a replacement on Christmas Eve so if it hadn't have happened i wouldn't have been here! 5t. -

I usually have a baby in the back now, i certianly don't go "balls to the wall" anywhere. I drive quickly within the limits, do 30 or 40 when the limit is there and never drive silly in the wet. I will open the car up on occasion but it will be on a nice remote road. Besides I have a bike for that heh (jestin) I do agree though, no excuse for cutting a blind corner and wiping out my car. 5t. -

Exactly that. It was raining hard too so we were takign it easy. Still something like that blocks the road there really was no where to go. You can see the impact poitn on the road, a good 2ft on my side of the road with no where for us to go. He wasn't hanging back either and basically did it at a normal speed rather than a go slow to actually make it around the bend. -

Did that in the Ford Fusion at the weekend as well! We'll have to organise a run - a kick in the Trossachs. Mind the other road users though. That's where the supra got wiped out by a coach cutting one of the blind bends. A painful experience! 5t. -
He'd had 3 bumpers @4k each... Rally school might be an interesting option for you as they'll do controlling a slide rather than stopping it dead. Not done one myself though but would certainly be interested. 5t.

no worries mate If you can drive a bit you'll have a laugh. Only thing i found was that they basically told you how to avoid things assuming you were in a manual car. There wasn't anything on actually controlling or sliding the car so don't be disappointed if it is a big group and you don't get any instruction like that. Bloke who was there when i went had a ferrari he'd crashed four times on track so wanted to know how to control the car. Thing is he just kept spinning the sierra. Couldn't understand how to feel what the car was doing at all, far more cash than talent! 5t.

No worries chap. Just remember we dinnae bite! Feel free to say hello! 5t.

Nice one. Are you the one that made us feel smelly? Pulled up with the wagon and you moved to the other end of the car park heh. Sure you were just talking to a mate like but was a weird one. Deffo a nice green car at least! Nice to see so much work going into it though. 5t.

I did exactly the same thing, plus an on road session with one of the advanced instrucctors. The surface is just wet tarmac but the cars have slicks on so do slide a bit. Quite easy and a fair laugh although i was with some others and it is clear to see why some people have accidents - can't tell what the car is doing at all, they were spinning and stalling a lot where i went straight to the slides. Good afternoon but not sure on prices, mine was a voucher i actually won. 5t.

Well done getting them! Bad news like. I'd be tempted to callt he cops anyway just to show you are serious. They'll make sure the detials given were the right ones.... 5t.

215s i think. Mine had 215 on as standard. You can go 225 from what i was reading (when i was looking into new tyres) but the handling might be compromised with extra roll in the corners. 5t.

Bah! Hate not having the interwebs at home having missed out on all the banter now! Good to catch up with various people (and a shame not to catch up with some especially our event organiser so a big public thanks for sorting it out). Thanks to Pmac and STI Pretender for the baby advice too and i'm sure they'll tell you 'asleep' is not the standard status of a baby! 5t.

Last few times i've had to drive through or past on a croooze night the cops have been all over the place. I actually got pulled on the way back from a SIDC Central meet to see if was my car! About 10 mins from me though 5t.

Aye i suggested it as a starting point in the convoy thread!! Can always walk up to the Wheel and use their cafe/toilets etc. 5t.

Ed that's brilliant. That's the wee access panel i was looking in and i think i know the lever you mean. The issue i have now is tha handle is broken so will have to hope for the best! Basically screwed 5t.
-
That's the issue, i can get into the boot but no idea how to make it release. There is a very small access panel right in the middle but i can't see a thing in there! wondered if there might be a certain wire to pull or something. If i can get the boot open i can take off the trim panel and fix it but right now i'm stuck! Cheers for the thoughts though guys. 5t.

Bit of a disaster over the weekend, The Mrs went to get the baby buggy out of the back of the wagon and the blinking handle has bust! Doesn't seem connected to anything now and we can't open the boot. I know that to get the the mechnaism i need to take the panel off inside the car but i am also sure that it held in place by those plastic pop rivets.... which you can't get to without opening the boot! Arrrgh! Anyone know how to open or even if you can open the boot from inside at all before i go on an expensive trip to Grieves? please!!! 5t.

Nope totally standard suspension on mine which made me wonder if yours really was caused by the springs. Back to the drawing board for me it seems! 5t.
