  1. hi there, we hired a clio cup for half a day from RSR and got 6 laps and helmets for roughly £450 i think it was. The cars were very clean and the guys were very helpful. To be honest when we go back next year i will be putting my own car back on the ring as it is so much cheapper to do. I was the same in terms of what happens if i crash etc but once you do it you see how well everyone respects the track and as long as you stay within your driving capabilities then it should be ok. It is tempting to plant the foot flat to the floor but once you hit the first bend you soon realise that your crazy to think that. I took the focus out in the pouring rain which everyone will tell you is crazy and survived it. Only drawback about hiring a car is that if it rains you still need to go out and if the track gets closed for any reason there is no refund either. We went with a company called nurburgringuk.com and would recommend. Dino organises the whole thing from ferry passes to accommodation. He has lots of local knowledge and even takes you out for sighting laps in his car as many times as you want. Give him a shout and tell him i put you in touch. We priced doing it oursleves and weren't much cheaper and going with Dino got us discount on souvenirs and also got to meet people and was able to socialise with them as well. One thing you need to do is get a steak on a stone from Sabine Schmitz hotel it is awesome. Chris
  2. Had a great day and was good to meet some old faces and even saw my old scoob on the way home.
  3. Think we are leaving paisley around 8. Taking the orange bomb to stretch its legs and also because we can't fit 3 folk in the 350z.
  4. Yeah neil is good at sticking his doo dah in to diagnosing things lol.
  5. That is not good John. Hope it isn't anything serious.
  6. woww looks like someone has been busy with the polish on the bumper lol. looking great peter am looking forward to a pax:-)
  7. can anyone recommend a good detailers in the paisley/glasgow area. What is rough cost for doing a full detail? The car has swirl marks and a few scratches which am looking for it to get a good detailing which will hopefully remove these. cheers Chris
  8. Gary, It was only by chance that i found this out as i needed to get to you urgently and tried leaving messages but got no reply and the guy i spoke to on the phone said he was your manager and assured me you would call back straight away. As i said you have given great service during the time i have used KM and the prices you got me for the 350z were very competitive:-) Chris
  9. been with them for 3 years now and never had a problem. Gary is sometimes hard to get hold of but if you ask for his boss he gets back to you that day. We have just used them to get our clio 197 and 350z insured and both quotes were very competitive.
  10. am looking forward to both new cars. the rear while drive of the 350z is going to be fun and the smallness and easy drive of the clio will also be fun.
  11. after weighing up the costs involved in upkeep this year i have now traded the car in. We now have a cliosport 197 and a 350z as our cars to choose from. I just couldn't justify the outlay of 2k this year when we are taking aloan out for our wedding. The clio is good for me for work and having the option of the 350z for the weekends is also good. So set of defi bf's will be up for grabs now they are amber and come with pod and controller (boost, oil pressure and oil temp). It was a asad day but for the shortterm i know it is the right thing to do financially. I welcome all comments now re i am mad:-) lol
  12. The better other half has just bought a new car and the whole thing has planted a seed in my mind for maybe selling the scoob and moving on to something else for a while. I know that this is not a good idea but having had the car now for 2 years i don't know if i am just getting bored or if the whole buying a new car process has got the better of me or am i just being stupid. The only issue i have is that i have modded the car subtly with the following mods and really can't be bothered with the whole putting back to standard so my questions are 1)do dealers buy cars with mods? 2)do they take the mods into account when valuing the car and 3)roughly how much is my car worth? 56 plate STI Type Uk AF remap to around 370bhp and 380torque APS CAI Forge recirculating oil pot Full meercat sportcat system Walboro 255 fuel pump Uprated spark plugs defi bf boost, oil temp, oil pressure gauges and controller It has been MOT'd in the last couple of months. Has always been serviced at S&S in Ayr car has done 40000 miles. I look forward to any info help anyone can give cheers Chris
  13. am gutted for you Noel. Can't believe someone would do such a thing.
  14. nice one neil, had one on my wrx and it sounded good.
  15. I live in paisley and work in glasgow so can meet up if you want to see defis
  16. try www.nengum.com with the yen being so strong they are quie expensive these days.
  17. Definitely would recommend defis. Diesel hands fitted mine and it looked fairly straightforward Chris
  18. Well that is my car just had its 40k service at S&S and just wanted to say a thanks to them. Got a good idea for my next daily run around in the impreza diesel (i wish lol). I really do need to stop doing as many miles as the next service is a big one and at this rate will be due in 6 months:-( Chris
  19. another vote for meercat from me. I ran without remap for a while but it is better to get done sooner rather than later. Stick on a APS CAI and you will be looking at 360ish ponies ;-)
  20. put me down for donating some for of drinkable alcohol peter. I will raid my stashes and see what i can find.
  21. Had a set of front pads fitted to my car a few months back and recently my car developed a clunking noise when slowing down to a stop. After much hunting about (APS CAI etc) i think i have finally found the source of the noise. It seems to be from the front drivers side brake shoe. It looks as though the pad has a wee bit of front to back play in it and this means that every now and again when braking either going forward or reversing the pad moves slightly. Has anyone else experienced this with these pads. Apart from that the pads are great. Guess it is just another reason to turn up the stereo that bit louder lol. cheers Chris
  22. really sorry to hear that. am gutted for you.
  23. well done Andy. Was down at the event and even got a tan lol. DCI Lee and the family were also down.
  24. I have bought two cars from them now and would recommend. Lorna in the service department is helpful.
