  1. Very true Al. Not sure about compensation. I just want what i expected and what i think i was paying for... .... i have a feeling this is not over just yet....
  2. Unfortunatley i spoke to them on Thursday afternoon about 4:30pm and was assured the R would be ready to collect Friday... admittadely with work still to be done. But was assured with confidence this would be completed Friday. So yes we will call before we travel to collect and will only turn up if the car is fully complete with no more work required.... ... fingers crossed
  3. ... but its a pretty poor show if thats is what it comes to. Besides we have better things to do with our time than sit around waiting for cars... Needless to say we turned up in one scooby and ended driving home in one scooby ... Ruby We left at 4:00pm the noise of the engine turning over for the first time ringing in our ears. But suspected problems with an idle valve prevented the engine to actually be run... ...but at least it turned over... ... by this point we had had enough and went home Expected collection date is now Tuesday, but there is still... front and rear ARB and droplinks and an ALK to be fitted. Wheel alignment to be setup. Engine mapping to be setup. A headlight problem to be resolved and a set of mud flaps to be fitted. ... and remember both Rach and myself both took days off work to collect the R today. However on a positve note what has been done i am really pleased with ... Not the red hoses i originally asked for but .... ...I really like the powder coating on the FMIC and pipework Fingers crossed for Tuesday ....
  4. Cheers Kev Good day if we actually get to drive him out of there Spoke to Paul earlier and he has not even turned the engine over yet
  5. oh god darling have you not seen the Castle Combe video.... ... really must get that life insurance policy sorted.....
  6. They look really good Stu .... big thank you for making this happen and taking the time to edit the pictures
  7. still looking good for Friday FMIC being fitted as i type, mapping tomorrow ..... collection Friday .... fingers crossed
  8. Hi Mike Nice to meet you yesterday. Have a look at Haywood and Scott, there on the road to South End near Basildon i think - i had my back box made up for Type R with them. They made the box when it was ready i went down with the car and they made the adjustments needed for it to fit. Job done. Really nice guy down there, i think his name is Richard, great service and a good price.
  9. well i have to say it would be the Honda integra ....
  10. Snetterton Track Day Have you seen this page? Not a problem for a passenger ride - i am not the most talented of drivers but hope fully you'll get an idea of a scooby on full chat - nice long straight at Snetterton ... mind you the last time i was on a nice long straight on full chat the engine blew Having a full rebuild at the moment - it was only the number 3 bearing that went but how many times do you get your engine out? .... so as it was there and few £k later ..... Nearly done just waiting for FMIC to be powder coated and suspension to be fitted....
  11. Thank you darling what would i do with out you
  12. still waiting for the FMIC to be powder coated and coilovers being delivered on Monday Paul is away Monday and Tuesday which does not leave much time for the re-map Just wanted to make sure all was ok so we put back collection until Friday .... i know its only another couple of days .... but still frustrating non the less ... but on a positve note there is an eingine now in the engine bay
  13. ... as i feared Wednesday 26th is now Friday 28th I really am getting quite depressed about this now....
  14. There is a trackday at Snetterton Saturday October 9th i think Plenty of different Scoobs there and i am sure you get a passenger ride with a few of them Providing my R is ready i am more than happy to take you round
  15. ok.... might have been a little optomistic on this .... moved back to Wednesday 26th now but at least we're getting Ruby serviced at the same time
  16. i have my Type R and Corsa and Rae has her WRX insured with Gary (Keith Michaels) Very happy with all quotes provided. OK you may be able to get a cheaper quote but i cannot be bothered as Gary and the service he provides has always been excellent. Cannot fault the insurance company he uses either as i unfortunately had an accident in my R last year. The service when dealing with my claim was top drawer and pro-active i did not have to chase anything. And personally i have never had a problem getting hold of Gary (Do you have his direct line?)
  17. Scenery looks stunning and that road .... well i am not sure if looks amazing , frustrating or scary ... probably a bit of all 3 - certainly never a dull moment Nice one Mark, Exige is looking good Seeing the vid definately confirms though we will be coming with you one year
  18. yeah i must admit i am looking forward to driving her everyday ... everyday i come home i keep finding new bits have been added to her
  19. Has any one fitted a non standard steering wheel to their classic Impreza? Toying with the idea of changing mine but not sure what it will look like. Can you post a picture let me know if its something you're glad you did. Also what do you do about the airbag? Thank you
  20. Happy days ... having just spoken to Paul at Zen i have a collection date ..... Friday 21st August ..... this year .... as Rach just pointed out its only been 24 weeks ...
  21. My first Impreza was a 2003 STi UK, i traded it for 1999 Type R I had been going to the shows with the 03 car and was always drawn to the 2 door classics and for as long as i can remember i have a soft spot for the classics especially the later facelift models. So i was quite happy to lose some of the 'comfort' and refinement as i love the classic look especially with the 2 door But as LLG states above we just traded her classic for a 03 newage and there is a big jump up. Power, grin factor, noise its all still there but the car just feels more solid. Tough choice i know but you just have a good long think about what you want. I know it took us a few months to get there.
  22. Welcome and enjoy ... you can never have enough Impreza in the family Look out for some shows and regional meets and hopefully see you both around soon .... get some piccies up and show off your new family member
  23. Looking fantastic - love the 2 door Impreza Great mileage as well must be a very looked after example enjoy
  24. i am sure it will get better when you run her in. I love the new ones in the dark grey Welcome to scooby ownership and enjoy
  25. welcome ... iam not a modder or messer .... i am with Mikkers on that one, give it time. But £ for £ there is not alot out of the box that doubles as a family car and Dads weekend toy. Enjoy and come along to some shows and bring the tribe as well we usually have one of ours in tow
