About seanypaj

  1. young hoodlums approach while stationary at traffic lights and instead of saying "give me your effing wallet" they say "show us what it does mate" !!! and.... street cred of my 7yr old rockets because "Dad got him a subway sandwich for his dinner, and his Dad's gotta scoob as well.... oh my god his dad must be wedged" pmsl
  2. OMG - I've been buzzin about what I thought was a fab price for that policy. Surely it can't be a postocde thing? You're correct though - they're getting over a grand a year and we're a low risk family with only 1 small claim in 9 years. Gonna do some bargainin' next time!
  3. I've always done well with direct line but it;s not for everyone... My bugeye wrx cost 390 fully comp - 460 with protected ncb and breakdown. (I'm 41yrs) I get discounts for having their hoome insurance and also multicar discount as the missus is insured with them also. You gotta have a tracker fitted then give it a whirl!
  4. Beautiful mate - That is the car I would like if I had a few more ££££'s to spend. I'd love an STI like yours - My wife needs to work more overtime! S
  5. Thanks people - here's what happened next.... Took the car to Andy at Scoobyspares in Fleetwood. (Quality service!) www.scoobyspares.com Test drive confirmed some flat spots on mid range No error codes showing. Plugged the lap top in and looked fine on tickover. Did a run with the laptop shows 0.5 bar pressure Suggested a failed boost control solenoid. Used replacement fitted and problems solved. Put a paneil filter in also. Accelerates much nicer now! All for <£100 Excellent!
  6. Hi, great BB! Grateful if anyone could offer a little advice..... I've had my 02 WRX with ppp for over a year and i think performance has slowly and gradually slipped during that time. Yesterday - I drove a friends 15yr old scoob and it was soooo much quicker but has no extra mods compared ot mine (T reg Wagon with ppp) My car feels like a "normal 2-litre" until hits 3300(ish) revs then obviously it picks up very quick on the turbo.... The power delivery is not smooth across the rev range There is "lumpiness" and some hesitancy at mid-range acceleration (1500-3000rpm) I'm gonna nip to the local rolling road tuner tomorrow... initially for a chat and then to see what my options are.... I'm not clever or handy when it comes to cars but would appreciate any info/advice. I'll also need to keep the cost down as well.....(Boooo!) Many Thanks
  7. I live just 3 miles from work and am lookin for a new job at least 20 miles away! Still though - I prefer to go home via the scenic route just so I can enjoy the experience of driving my baby! At 41yr old - I had promised myself that at some point in my life I would own a supercar (even if it was only for 1 year of my life)..... maybe a porsche or an old ferrari. I have this yearning no longer - why would I - I have everything I need in my scoob.... stuff the petrol/insurance - life's too short. Love the grip Love the acceleration Love my burble! Love Scoob. Thank God for the Impreza ;-)
  8. Thats a beautiful motor... Congratulations.... Scooby ownership is a great feeling and it gets better and better! Enjooooooooooooooy
  9. a quickle tickle right thru the rev range versus a lambo - the v10 sounded great but my burble was fantastic. was pleasantly suprised against an £80k supercar!
  10. I'm 41 plus my missus 36 Both clean licenses No accidents or claims - ever! Car is a MY02 WRX Policy.... Fully Comp NCB protection No motor legal cover No courtesy car basic breakdown insurance (roadside and tow if needed) £459 with direct line though have "multicar" and home insurance with them and these accrue more discount... Home Ins was really cheap as well
  11. Hi Tris... welcome to the site.... I have a motor exactly the same as yours (love it). I got the same alloys but standard seats. Enjoy your motor mate. S
  12. I did our family xmas food shop at 3am at the local supermarket just after another 4-5" of snow. The shopping took me 3 hours...... but then I did spend an hour playing donuts and "starsky and hutch".... very enjoyable. It's my first year of scooby ownership and I love it. The recent weather has been gobbled up my my scoob - the only problem is getting round all those that are stuck at the bottom of the hill. Love it! S
  13. Bloody Ell Mate - you experienced some worrying symptoms there (especially the blue discolouration).... aka cyanosis and the drifting in/out..... lucky boy.... when treating hypothermia it can be dangerous to try warm someone up too quickly - aim for half a degree each hour using warm drinks and a space blanket. You do right to get a quick check out from the doctor on Monday though it seems your definitely over the worst of it. It makes sense to have an emergency pack in the car just in case. RGN 20yrs.
  14. Great BB...... I have a '02 Bug Eye WRX with PPP and run it as a family car. (Love it!) Christmas is coming and I'm thinking of squeezing a little more power from my scoob. £££'s are important so a cold air induction kit seems a reasonably economical way of acheiving this. Could I have recommendations on which type of kit to buy please. Also - what will be the effect.....power? sound of engine? Finally - are there any risks/drawbacks associated with these kits. Many Thanks S
  15. Hi Buddy.... I got one a few months ago online for about £80-90 and had it installed at the local garage for another £50. (I'm not mechanically minded). The rad came by post a few days later..... make sure you find the correct one for your scoob! I got it from http://www.carcooling.co.uk/catalog/Car_Radiators-6-1.html Hope thats useful. S
