We'd like to come to this as it was a good little show last year Iain, if you have a space spare nearer the time we can bring both cars but for now do not want to be 'piggy' and 'hog' the spaces cheers Rach and Nige PS Rach says she'll try and drum up some interest from our neck of the woods
  3. For the money you will have a world of choice - just check out Piston Heads as for Jap v. UK then it will probably come down to whether you want the burble (UK) or not (Jap) As the age of the vehicle will be out of warranty do not rely on Subaru for servicing as there are loads of specialists around the country that will happily take UK or Jap cars. Just make sure the service intervals have been adhered to and look for bundles of receipts (even for things like wipers ... ) - usually shows the car has been looked after by an enthusiast.
  4. Hey sounds like you had a good day. Did everything go to plan? Sorry we could not make it.... catch up with you soon
  5. There you go then. Personally not had anything done but i know plenty that get their work carried out there. I have been on a couple of RR days over there and a friend had his Evo in there and he was happy enough. I am sure Dave will look after you and your Scooby
  6. An obvious choice for you would be DSA in Aylsebury But my recommendation would be Zen in Wellingborough. Had a lot of service work done with them and its all good and i am very happy with my engine rebuild.
  7. Looks good ... if its what your after then go check it out. Its all very well finding a good car but if its hundreds of miles away that can be a real pain. What do run at the moment? Do your homework on JDM spec cars and of course check the history and go through the paper work thoroughly if you get suspicious on anything walk away... there are plenty of others out there for the sale.
  8. Hi Rick Graphics looked good .... i think we discussed when we met up i like the the look but not sure i'd have them on my own car... Very tidy looking scoob Rick, enjoy and see you soon Nige
  9. Heart goes out to you Chris Did the same thing on a sprint day at RAF Marham .... i elected to go down the rebuild route though Not that i regret it but it really did test my patience, resolve and committment to the car How much do you want to keep that car and how much cash you got? For the price of a rebuild you will easily find yourself another well sped'd car tough call.....
  10. Hi Gary Welcome to the wonderful world of Impreza ownership and SIDC We're in Sandy and my better half is RO for Beds... so look out for our regional meets in the Southern section, you're more than welcome to pop in. Nige and Rach
  11. hi mate and welcome Having had an 03 UK STi and now owning a 03 WRX i can say day to day running there is not much difference in 'speed' especially as our WRX has the PPP fitted. However with an STi you do get different suspension and a 6 speed box arguable an STi is more tunable but if you were going for any 'power' upgrades then you would be changing the important parts in either the WRX or the STi The limitation would be the WRX as a base car. As my first scoob my UK 03 STi was a great place to start i thoroughly enjoyed owning and recommend it to anyone as 'safe' introduction to Impreza ownership
  12. Chris she is looking awesome .... roll on S and S 2010
  13. No, don't know that one Not so long ago Rach got a wave from a P1 so maybe the same fella We love the 2 door scoobs
  14. Hi Rick Welcome to the fold ..... mmmm Type R you say .... Hopefully see you Saturday Nige
  15. going over the M1 and railway bridge in to Upper Sundon
  16. It must be a buyers market out there at the moment. Rather than finance and a dealer have you thought about a bank loan - hard cash will always get you a good deal
  17. ok, we'll keep and eye on this
  18. just had my engine rebuilt with better spec parts so not just a like for like rebuild the idea being to run more power at a later date when i change the turbo, injectors etc... So while i was there i went for a FM (Hybrid) Power before and after has not changed a lot but i think the car does feel stronger when pulling away, droping a gear etc... maybe my imagination ... but that does help justify the cost of the rebuils and FM I have also changed the induction (K&N) and had a full remap (Autronic) So i think it comes down to where you want your car to be ... if you're keeping it standard then probably no need to fit a FM also can you stomach the cutting of your front bumper
  19. Hi guys, where are you thinking of starting from?
  20. Hi Ian Not much point Rach and me coming all the way over to meet you guys and then driving back. Not sure which way you will come but there is a BP garage at Warrington roundabout on A509/A428 (MK46 4JQ‎ ) Can we meet you here? cheers Nige
