  1. We have grooved and drilled discs (not our choice came with the car) and an EBC ceramic based pad Its ok for road use but they are still prone to fade quite quickly I would not want to venture on to track with this setup. I just do not think the caliper is large enough for the size of the car. Heat buils up and everything goes a bit mushy very quickly. If you plan to track the car then i would definately go for a caliper upgrade, Brembos (bigger caliper) with braided hoses and dot 5.1, Pagid blue pads but standard discs on my original new age STi worked quite well. Currently running AP330 on my classic which work even better and fit under a 17" wheel
  2. since they first appeared the hatch has definately grown on me .... i always think they look better in the flesh than on print ..... just me? Anyway liking the silver
  3. Yes looking good Kim, I am liking the clean fresh look a lot. Well done to everyone for the hard work
  4. Well welcome back then project scoob..... type R ..... mmmmm that sounds familiar Not that i did any of the work myself! Hope it all goes well .... would be good to see some progress piccies etc...
  5. Thank you It has been quite an adventure that i am glad to say is over .... Car is fully mapped, most of the running in was done on the dyno and now we are just bedding everything in over the first few hundred miles or so. I am really happy with the spec and way he drives. Bags of potential to up the power but at the end of the day we still want a road car and with that gear box i think more power would make it a real chore as a daily driver .... hes pretty manic as it is now Its not very clear but here is the dyno ... and i have pretty muched finished updating the 'garage' section
  6. yeah that was Chris Hope you get yours sorted soon, if you plan it right you can run it in on our trip to Germany
  7. Thanks Ben Well happy with the everything ... just gotta try and keep it that way
  8. yep got him back on Friday .... done alot of driving this weekend, nearly run in ....
  9. Chris told me about your car troubles! Been over a year hasn't it? I seem to remember you where having problems in Germany last year Hope you get her on the road soon As for my boy we are very happy with way it has all turned out .... got there in the end Well done 'eagle eyes' .... 10/10 EXE-TC fast road coilovers .... and very good they are as well
  10. Could have been me. I was stumbling round March trying to find a dinner guest....
  11. Hi Martin sorry for your WR1 sad news.... hope you can get her fixed very soon
  12. .... guess whose back ........ and what the money went on ..... still got a bit of running in to do but basically the engine is fully mapped... just need to keep the revs down for a few hundred miles before giving him full beans. ... even so very happy and suspension is a world away from what was there before... this is a completely new car to learn and get used to. Much driving is to be had this weekend. I would also like to say I know this has been a long project and i am sure my disappointment and frustration has come through in some of the posts. However i had a good chat with Paul when we collected the car. We were both honest and i really appreciated the time he spent with me when handing over the completed project. Well done to Richard, Tim, Liz and of course Paul @ Zen Performance, much respect guys and keep up the good work
  13. Well i ahve been told most of the running in is done. So i just need to 'bed' in some more. But fully mapped as of now. Not gone for a new turbo, injectors etc... so plenty of capacity left .... .... for now
  14. ... well the call came in today..... i can collect the car tomorrow.... Friday Now i have been hear before i know but .... well lets hope so Garage is prepared .... fingers crossed
  15. Hi mate I went with Whiteline and just fitted the front because i was doing rear, but on the 03 car i just fitted rear. i know Eibach also do kits that are as a good Good upgrade as it does reduce body roll
  16. Hey thats great news, congratulations ... glad to hear Mum and the little'un are all doing well Hows Dad coping?
  17. ... not the fabled 'WRC Germany 2008' DVD .....
  18. Hi there I have changed rear ARB and drop links on my current (my99) and last scooby (my03) and when fitted there is less cornering roll. However i also changed the springs and had an ALK fitted on the my03 and i was really pleased with this as complete upgrade. Made a big difference Cannot comment on the my99 as i have not had it back yet
  19. ... nearly there now ... could be this weekend ...
  20. as my good lady says thank you Stu
  21. not yet matey... ... but as i will be getting the hoses replaced i should imagine this will add some more time ....
  22. ... certainly are ... and i really do not know why. I have not requested any changes from the original spec apart from EXE-TC coilovers instead of BC and asked if they could re-underseal the car as they had it there. I have not requested for any completion dates .. all collection dates have been set by them we are getting there though ... so hopefully soon we will have the car back
  23. waiting is all we seem to have been doing recently Just hoping the next call is a definate "your car is ready" and not another "It should be ready by the end of the day" Nothing else is order and all the parts required are i nthe workshop so time permitting the R should be back with us very soon
  24. After a couple of emails backwards & forwards we are now feeling a lot happier and very positive that we will be getting the R back very soon and exactly as we want him Engine issue was an idle valve problem and a simply ECU reset sorted it out. All other outstanding issues will be resolved to our satisfaction ... as said, we are definately feeling a lot happier and more positive the job will be completed very soon ... ... watch this space
