  7. thanks guys for info Already considered 2.5 and dismissed it for all of the above reasons I like the way my R goes as is and i want to retain that character So it will be a 2.0 but well spec'd e.g power potential but more importantly built for reliabilty/strength what ever goes in it will not be mapped for more than 350 in initial build but it is always good to know there is potential later on

  15. i just read the news about Iain which is sad for sure but reading the thread i feel i should add some balance to the 'Keith Micheals' argument and as i have just emerged from a full claim i think i am qualified. No problems with Keith Micheals Gary has been really easy to get hold of now the issue of a contact number is sorted Highway insurance have been nothing short of exactly what you'd expect from an insurance company dealing with your claim e.g. available, return calls when not available, data and info readily available and delivered the service i thought i was paying for. Having also unfortunately having to deal with the 'elephant' lot for my wifes stolen Mini claim last year their service by comparison was very questionable to say the least, needless to say we do not insure with them again... ever regardless of how cheap they are. So just remember that when you try to save your £100 or so a year ... you pay for a service and only get what you pay for.
  16. Iain, this is sad news first national events and now regional organiser i just hope everything is well with you and your family take care and thanks for all your help and support Nige

  18. then still be happy to know you are still indeed younger When can i come over and let you take me out on these new coilovers then? Tried them on Moleys car round Brands and they felt pretty good A road test would be better - do you think we could do that?
  19. I was going so say that makes us a pair of old farts as i seem to remember you'll be having a birthday soon how ever i have checked your profile and it does still state you are indeed 41 so i bow my head and although i may be older in years you can still be safe in the knowledge you still have it in looking the oldest
  20. aahhhhh thanks guys ... XXXXXX .... got the best birthday present today ... my scoob is all fixed a ready for collection tomorrow
  21. Yeah i have used Fancy Plates as well - great service Does anyone know if its ok to add 'SIDC' or 'Subaru Impreza Drivers Club' to the bottom of a show plate? Wouldn't be breaching any copy right laws would we boss?
  22. Type R seats have red padding not blue these seats look like they're out of a P1
  23. went a couple of year ago in April for 3days/2 nights and again 3 minute walk from Eiffel tower lovely city had a fantastic time If nothing else you have to get to the top of the Eiffel tower - highest i have ever been that has not been a mountain the view is stunning - but get there very early like 07-08:00 in the morning to avoid queues and to get on the first lift. We then walked from there to Arch de Triumph, down the chants Elysee (had some lunch, had a quick look at the palace de versaille and popped in to the Louvre and had a look at the moaning Lisa ok a lot of walking but did it all in day. shame you're not going for longer because their metro is brilliant and you can get around Paris very easily. Might be worth getting a day pass anyway. If you can get to Notre Dame and some big church/cathederal on a hill with a cable car (cannot remember its name) to take you up to it. Both buildings are simply awesome pieces of architechure. Get a map and enjoy the food/wine and atmosphere, i'd defo go again but maybe with the girlfriend not the wife
  24. had a similar problem on my 1999 STi but only got the vibration under braking changed disks and calipers and it was still there but not as bad changed the front drive shafts and joints and it went away. I had 355 discs and AP 6 pot calipers - along with the 18" wheels i think maybe these where to big and it all probably helped the problem - maybe it was just abuse from previous owner.
