Sorry to hear about this, but think its worth trying for a warranty claim... if you get it then your credit card can come out of hiding, if you dont, then you need to look at the options available to you. However, as many others have said, you've sorted the biggest thing which is the engine and now its the 2nd biggest thing, and once you've fixed the gearbox, you really shouldn't have any other big bills looming. If it were me, I'd just stick a 6-spd in there, unless you've definitely had enough and are going to sell it..... in which case, stick a stock box back in it, sell your mods and sell the car... then I'll sell you the Spec-G. Cheers, Grant

A friend has a twin-screen that he bought as a 'rat-look' model... but is planning to spend a lot of money on it to clean it right up. I can understand the attraction, its really old skool, but I dont think I'd part with the large chunk of wonga these cars command. Cheers, Grant

What mods are done to the Pug 306?? It was impressive... held its own around the track very well, even on the long drag up the start/finish straight. Cheers, Grant
-
Oh bugger, thought I had a bit of time to mull that one over.. my renewal notice says 165 for 6 months or 300 for 12 months..... thought I'd beaten the system!! Robbing baaaaaaaastards!! Cheers, Grant
-
Both great pics John.. Mr Shandero, there are many pics of the Spec-G in your collection..... big thanks!! Cheers, Grant

I can't help with the technical stuff, as I've never really had experience with your problem/year of car.. but I can say that Callum at Checkpoint Garage in Arbroath is pretty clued up on these cars and wont replace something unless he needs to replace it. Might be worth sticking it in for him to look at?? Cheers, Grant

Was really good yesterday, a bit chilly in the wind, but it stayed dry which was the main thing. It was nice to see a lot of familiar faces and also meet some new faces, John & Dale (TheWelsho and thefastone) being the most memorable.. Welsho, thats a quick WRX you've got mate, also loving the vortex generator on the roof. Dale, hope your parents recover from the flu soon..... that car really needs washed. I think I told a lot of you this yesterday.... but I had an awesome time. It was the first time on track with the Spec-G and it did pretty well, think I only pulled over for an Exige and a couple of those Caterhams.......... but I did seem to time it right so that none of the REALLY quick cars were out on the track, didn't mean it, honest!! Was happy to take a few people out for pax laps too, glad I could share some of the fun that I was having on track.. and show ex/current 2.0 owners what the 2.5 is all about. I dont think that I'm going to sell the car now, will try and use it a bit more, treat it to some more handling (whiteline) goodies and putting my name down for the next trackday too.. haha, the bug has re-bitten!! I appreciate the pics of the car so far, so dont be shy, if you've got any more... fire them up for me. Cheers, Grant

Good to hear its sorted Cheers, Grant

Mmmmmmm, RAYS wheels... that looks like a nice car, maybe a bit tooo modified for a first Scoob though?? Cheers, Grant

Yep, they will fit your car Craig. Cheers, Grant

IIRC, the VF34 is the turbo that comes on a Bugeye STi and isn't a twin-scroll unit. EGT = Exhaust Gas Temperature. Cheers, Grant

Big decision there matey, but suppose there comes a time to step back from it all... I appreciate all the work you've done as a member and also when you were an RO, will catch up with you at the next big meet or knockhill probably. Cheers, Grant

....oh there's plenty that can be done to the WRX, just have a wee look above at the minimal mods that Welsho has done to his car and the great gains he's got. The Cavern of Speed is calling my friend... its best not to fight it. Cheers, Grant

It doesnt really offend me, and most graphics usually do.. Think the basic idea is alright, its something different, which is waaaaay needed as the SWRT graphics have been done to death now IMO... I would re-think what small graphics to use and try and distribute them a bit more widely cause it looks a bit 'busy' just now (although I know its just a potatochop effort you've shown to give an idea). Its got a bit of '80s Tiger Striped Cossie' about it...... and the 80s look is gonna be soooooo hot this summer. Cheers, Grant

You're a mentalist, 555bhp on a 2.0(ish), holy sh!tballs... with the new dose of handling mods that have been fitted, this car should have all the ability to use the power too!! The queue for passenger rides in Crazy Horse on Saturday is going to be pretty long me thinks... Cheers, Grant
-
Always thought that the VF28 is all out of ideas at 320bhp absolute max, from trawling P1WOC anyway... a VF34 is a better option for 320-340bhp depending on supporting mods surely. Cheers, Grant

Pay a professional to machine your car for you mate... the proper machines are dangerous things, its really easy to burn through your paint. Detailing World will give you all the ideas and answers that you need, I'd recommend talking to the guys at Polished Bliss in Aberdeen as they've got a massive range of products that will help you out.... and not all of them require a machine and can be applied by hand. Cheers, Grant

Just watch you aren't jumping from the frying pan into the fire mate... it sounds like you've had to swallow pretty much all the bills that a classic scoob is going to throw at you, so IMO, might be worth sticking it out for a bit longer. If you are buying an EVO, then I'd suggest joining the MLR (Mitsubishi Lancer Register) and finding a genuine Owners Club car rather than one from the classifieds. Cheers, Grant

Ah ha, how the tables turn!! Lets see how long your self-restraint lasts with the 'zero mods policy' Mr Shand... Good choice sir, nice looking wagon. Cheers, Grant

Oh bugger... just noticed this thread after posting in the events section, can you give me a PM with your e-mail address so I can add my name on the off-chance John. Good luck on Monday mate, although I'm sure you wont need it.. and that bridge pic doesnt get any less impressive!! Cheers, Grant

Thanks folks..... the feds weren't so impressed by the pops and bangs, I'm sure they turned round to have a pop at me (excuse the pun ) but luckily I think they took a wrong turning and I managed to get the car home and in the garage without any hassle!! Haha, spoiler delete is on the cards Andy.. Scott, I would probably talk to Andy F @ andyforrestperformance who will give you the options you've got regarding mapping, exhausts etc for your specific goals.. I do know what you mean though, a near stock UK WRX/Turbo 2000 does run out of puff higher up the rev range. Peter... show-off!! Your pops and bangs actually do something, mine are just for effect with no performance benefit!! Cheers, Grant

....thats not so good, maybe just slip a cheeky 20g on there with some supporting mods. The potential buyers will love it, trust me. Cheers, Grant
-
Thats still good figures for the minimal mods you've got.. but understand its gonna be a wee bit tough to take even a slight drop in power/torque. Cheers, Grant
-
Haha.. well, my attempt to resist was broken down further when I spotted some Amber Defi BF's for sale at a price I couldn't resist... so they're fitted now and I'm trying to resist any contact with Geo (cusco kid) as my self-restraint might crumble and a couple of Whiteline bits would be ordered. To be honest mate, I'm actually considering a change of front seats as well..... god..... this was always gonna happen, why did I pretend it wasn't.. I re-read your first post and you'd enjoy the 2.5 WRX mate... its a bit of a beast with big dollops of torque available with very little provocation. Cheers, Grant

Wuz @ BHP Developments in Aberdeen and Simon @ Japerformance in Elgin are the two that spring to mind straight away.. Cheers, Grant
