  1. Massive improvement to the rude-boy rims that you had on as a temporary measure... they look great on the car. :icon_rendeer: Cheers, Grant
  2. That took you under 2hrs to reply there Kev..... you got Broadband sorted now then?? Cheers, Grant
  3. Also explore the adjustable 'standard' shocks option.. to go along with your ?Tein? Springs. I've had coilovers (few mates have had them too) and to be honest, although they were expensive and a bit bling (fully adjustable, etc) they are just toooo hard for our crap roads IMO. The best set-up I've had is damping adjustable shocks and lowered & uprated springs, enough to fiddle with to tailor to your own style, but not too harsh for day to day use............ however, if you are planning to use the Scoob as a toy and a shed-load of trackwork, then coilovers may come into their own as track tarmac tends to be snooker table smooth, specially compared to UK roads, so you wont notice/care about a stiff ride. Cheers, Grant
  4. See him very occasionally out and about in the P1... not been on here or at a meet for a long time as far as I know. Cheers, Grant
  5. Yea, thats quite cheap for heat-wrap... makes it even better value for money now!! The smell does tend to disappear mate, just takes a bit of time thats all. Cheers, Grant
  6. Good lad Kev.... you took one for the team mate, and I appreciate that. Cheers, Grant
  7. They come highly recommended up here too...... Cheers, Grant
  8. Very tuneable cars... looks like a nice one too. Cheers, Grant
  9. Brilliant, bet you cant wait to get it back to full speed... and safe knowing that if you fancy a bit more power, a bigger turbo & a wee sniff of more boost isnt a problem as the internals can take it. Cheers, Grant
  10. Good to hear mate, which forgies did you go for?? Cheers, Grant
  11. I dont really get hassled in the Scoob either... maybe its the age of it, small spoiler, small exhaust and relatively sedate way I drive the thing most of the time? I got the occasional 'test' in my Classics from time to time. If I get someone driving close behind me, then I just downshift into 'the zone' and pop/bang(and possibly flame) a few times which usually forces them back a couple of car lengths minimum. Cheers, Grant
  12. I think the guy is struggling to run/insure the thing and is trying EVERY way possible to get rid of the thing.... what a tosser. Problem is that although it was a minted car, now he's had his hands on it, I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole............. just a bit tooooooo weird/dodgy for me. Cheers, Grant
  13. Should look great in that colour on the Spec-D mate... interested to see them on the car myself!! Crail was a bit of a mixed bag, my terminal speed was up to 110mph, but my actual 1/4 time was up by 0.1 too. Not sure if timing was out to be honest, but a friend that runs consistent 13.3 was getting a 13.5 after spending a couple of grand on his car and getting off the line without trouble.... but I know I was having trouble getting the Scoob off the line with all the new found torque, even crawling off the line and planting it would spin all 4 wheels when the boost came in. Hey ho, it was a laugh and now I quite fancy seeing how it gets on up at Knockhill in 2008 sometime. Cheers, Grant
  14. Which ones did you go for mate?? Cheers, Grant
  15. Haha, it'd probably make an awesome sound for 1 or 2 seconds at 33-34psi.. then you'd have many, many more seconds to cry after you realise you've just melted everything under the bonnet after running 2.3bar of boost. If you're really unlucky it'd hold together just long enough to shatter the WRX 5-speed gearbox too. Cheers, Grant
  16. I'm not really sure... I'd guess at the standard one running about 0.9bar and a PPP'd car running about 1.2bar though. I'll be interested to see myself. Cheers, Grant
  17. White wouldnt be my first choice, but they are miles nicer than the standard.. and more common.. STi wheels. Cheers, Grant
  18. The BM is worrying if on a motorway.... and the EVO is worrying if on twisty roads, however, get a wee chase going and within 20mins it'll need to stop for a service and AYC fluid change. Cheers, Grant
  19. Yea, I'll wave if I see them in time... however I find that a lot of classics arent owned by enthusiasts any longer and the "what the f@ck you doing" look gets given in response to my wave. But, the newage drivers are just as bad, an awful lot of them arent enthusiasts either.. so tend to get a confused look if you wave at them!! So now classics/blobeyes & hawkeyes arent responding, I'm gonna target the Bugeyes cause more of them are owned by enthusiasts, what with their 'challenging looks'.... lol, just kidding!! Cheers, Grant
  20. Before the car was mapped (07 STi) I was getting really bad range/mpg out of tank, this has now increased a fair bit since being mapped... in addition to the extra bhp & lb/ft that I got too. I dont give my car too much of a hard time either, ok, its gets the occasional blast........ but most of the time that I'm out its just a progressive drive using a max of around 3500rpm. Before: 302bhp & 290lb/ft and around 150-160miles from a tank on average After: 355bhp & 389lb/ft and around 210miles from a tank on average Cheers, Grant
  21. Im definitely interested in this, was meant to go this year, but as time went on and nothing got booked... the opportunity just kind of passed us by. Cheers, Grant
  22. Aye, 99% sure its the same car mate... guy bought a Golf after his Scoob if I remember right, its defo a good car, he looked after it really well. The CCTV thing is a brilliant idea, glad you've got it all set-up already. Cheers, Grant
  23. Reidzer, did you buy this from a guy down this way, Tayside/Angus, or possibly up Inverness way as I think thats where he re-located to?? Think he's on here as BigAl or something like that.... the plate and Turini's look really familiar to me, and if its the same car then its an absolute minter that I'll happily vouch for as well. Cheers, Grant
  24. This is totally unbelievable... hope all the innocent parties are ok and this weegie chump & his pals get locked up. In my own opinion: - HPi Clear, doesnt always mean it is a straight car but from the general opinion on here, the car was a brilliant example.. if the seller knows of a dodgy past, they must declare it, but being HPi clear then the seller might not know the complete past of the car if they bought it as a used car themselves. - Turning up mob handed to a family home is unforgiveable and I really hope the 5/0 share my view on this and come down hard on these ar$eholes.. - End of the day, its a Private Sale, as a buyer you are taking all the risk and need to give the car a comprehensive check over yourself or through the AA/RAC for peace of mind IMO.. Cheers, Grant
  25. What about knockhill.... or a more central track in the UK, fill the circuit with Scoobs (2, 3 and 4 cars deep) and then set off for an extremely slow parade lap and break that record as well. Cheers, Grant
