  1. 2 stickered up classics following each other down st vincents about 4 today
  2. White bugeye with silver bonnet(?) and a few kent scoobies stickers, homebase at rochester airport this afternoon. And a silver classic sti for sale, same place
  3. Agree, try a coachworks and let them know you'll be paying, not the insurance A year or two back I wanted a rear door touched up, I had a bit of rust coming through under the plastic trim about half way down. Having spoken to the sprayer, who had picked up forms/paperwork/clipboard etc, and being asked if I would be paying for the work (?????????? no I'm going to do a runner what do you think!!!) I then realised he meant would I be paying for the work. [Y] Penny dropped, as did all the paperwork, quick look, £40 cash. Dread to think what the insurance would have been charged[]
  4. Silver classic on roundabout near chatham dockyard. My return wave was a little late, I was listening to a rattle I thought I'd got rid of[:@]
  5. I think its mostly the classic lights that leak, when fitting the red/white sti lights etc. Anything round the spoiler? Certainly shouldn't be happening on an 18 month old car tho' Def a dealer job as you say!!
  6. Just come back form Dartford. A2 didn't seem too bad, only got a bit heavier round the Medway area.
  7. Q-dog, Bluewater this morning, I followed you in
  8. Very nice mate. Good job[Y]
  9. Happened a couple of times with mine. First time thought it must be the batteries in the fob so went and bought some more and it worked first time. From then on kept a new set of batteries in the car and that did the job. Just had to open the door and set the alarm off to get to them!!! But at least I got the car started[]. Same story with scoobaru, " it's a recognised fault so we'll give you the alarm free([]) then its ONLY £xx to fit it[:@][:@]" Have memorised the keypad number now[Y]
  10. Probably notice a difference in performance as well on the V Power[Y][H]
  11. Def be looking at going out in either the R32 or S3, then seeing what I preferred. Was tempted by an old S3 before getting the latest scoob. Salesman seemed to be waiting for me to look scared, or comment on how fast it was, but tbh I thought it might be broken lol[]. Quite lacklustre after the scoob. But if it's a new one........[H]
  12. Haven't seen the bottom of a sti 5/6 spoiler but on the sti8 there are quite a few bolts, 4 long and 8 short from memory, which with a bit of persuasion will slide out. Bear with me.... Fitting the sti8 spoiler to the boot lid of my newage wrx.. Masked up the boot lid to avoid any scratching. 4 of the holes were common on the 2 spoilers, so I had an idea where it was going!. Slid out the long bolts so all the bolts were the same length and all would touch the masking tape when offered up to the boot. Then put a generous blob of paint on the bolts to mark out onto the tape where they would go and offered it up again. Just moved the bolts about until I had all locations covered (couldn't do all 12 at once cos I'd taken the long bolts out), then drilled away......[][]. Measured it several times to make sure before drilling, fitted first time, well happy[][H] And IMPORTANTLY replaced the rubber washers, top and bottom (to make sure), and it looked like it had had some sealant round the edge of the spoiler which had seen better days. Stuck on some draught excluder. No leaks either.
  13. Black (or at least dark!) classic picking up a parcel on the Forstal road industrial estate. From the burble I heard just before you walked in and the burble after you left I'm guessung you were the one picking up a plasma tv? I was the one who'd been waiting the longest, from 6.00. Finally got out at 9.30[8o|] Sounded very nice btw[]
  14. I've heard some of the classics have inadequate oil cooling, but having said that I never had any problems. Maybe on a hot day if you've been caning it and then have to sit in traffic for a while could get a bit hot. As for engines melting imports are set up to run on higher ron fuel, so if you go and put standard uk stuff in you get det and overheat the piston melting the engine so to speak. Normally best to run any scoob on optimax or super plus, and if it's an import stick in a bit of octane booster to be on the safe side. I always use hayward and scott for my exhausts.[Y] See the link on here.
  15. Didn't do any track days tbh. One thing I've just thought of, the MAF's are very sensitive on the MY00's, they don't like induction kits. Mine blew when I was caning it (going into 3rd at about 70 joining the motorway) but got that done under warranty(would have been about £120). After that I drove the car with a little more respect. You can still have a lot of fun in them without having to bounce off the rev limiter imho. Like any car, if you thrash the living daylights out of them all the time then they will come back and bite you hard, if you are lucky just in your wallet. When I bought my latest scoob I asked the dealer on the test drive some of the more "technical" questions comparing the classic and the newage scoobs, all from knowledge gained on here. Having realised I knew a little bit about them he then carried on, "the radio's still sh*t, this still....., that still....."[]. Get as much knowledge behind you as you can, it really is caveat emptor out there and it will be much easier to trip up anyone who isn't genuine.
  16. Def go with the satnav option if you can find one. Speedo should read high tho', 80 on the speedo, 72-75 on the satnav etc. Just so the manufacturers don't start getting sued for speeding tickets etc. Will be more accurate at 30-40mph. Different wheels can also mess with the readings a bit.
  17. Welcome to the club I had a W reg uk car for a couple of years, covered about 40000 miles in it and didn't have ny real issues. Sold it with 76000 miles on it just before it was six years old. Biggest service on them is the 90000/ 6year service as they are supposed to be done every 7500miles/6months whichever comes first, so if you find one thats had the 90000 done, regardless of miles (if you know what I mean!) that imho is a good thing. Cambelts..... I was told every 45000 miles, and its a big service every 30000, hence the 90000 is huge as its both. Needless to say FSH is essential. Just before I traded mine in 5th gear started to catch, so make sure and give the gearbox a good work out as well. Otherwise smoke, rattles aren't good and check for any accident damage It's been well covered topic as you can imagine, try doing a search on here. One more thing, TAKE YOUR TIME!!! and find a good one! Good luck
  18. Don't forget the little splintery bits lol (Once you've managed to cut the fingers off the gloves they give you!!)[]. Remember the other bits too well!!!!!!!!
  19. It is REALLY REALLY bad. Haven't seen anything like that. But as said hopefully some good will come out of it.
  20. Looking good mate. What was the problem with the bass the other day? Are you now sorted?
  21. Think there is a fairly good write up on their website, regarding things to check etc..
  22. Back aswell. A good night, even though it was a bit wet.[li]
  23. Mine used to stop making any noise when it got a "bit" dirty. How does it look?
  24. Hi mate, welcome to the club. I haven't got a bonnet but, www.japperformanceparts.co.uk ,hdc subaru, or grade a subaru may be able to help you. All breakers that people use on here. There are more but those are just off the top of my head.
