You could try sorting out the handling. Droplinks are a popular, cheap up grade tho haven't had it done myself. One thing I have had done is getting the geometry set up right. Seems a lot of money for no visible difference to the car but handles much much better afterwards, tho might be best to leave it to the end of any suspension mods. Brakes? Always good to be able to stop[]. Haven't got too much of a problem with the standard setup on mine but then I don't do trackdays and the car isn't massively powerful. Have thought about some stainless brake hoses to sharpen the pedal up a bit tho. If you are going to go for a bigger brake upgrade I've heard good things about the Godspeed stuff, but again haven't tried it myself.

A Brush with the law: Result just in ...
darryl_martin replied to thewelsho's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Result that mate[H] You must be well happy[][] -
Had mine done a few months ago. Car had never felt as surefooted as the classic I had previously so thought I'd try having it done. Asked for prodrive settings, charged about £80 car so much better now. Had the car driven by someone who actually can drive fast (unlike me!!) and he commented on how nicely the car turned in. Def worth doing. As said above, camber, castor, toe etc...

Result mate. Hope it was nothing serious.

I tried the cancelling thing once. I knew I wanted a scoob, but couldn't find one quick enough so had to pay another years subs on my car at the time Company I was with wanted £600 for my current car but £1500 for the scoob Alternative company wanted £950 for the car I had but £750 for the scoob???????????? Didn't know how long it would take me to find a scoob so stayed with the company I was with an paid the £600. 2 months later I cancelled the policy and got a letter saying I was entitled to about £280 back!!!!!!!!! I had in mind about £600 - £100 (for the two months) - £50 (max) for admin charges, leaving me £450. A quick letter later, saying how happy I'd been with their service over the last few years and how proffesional and easy they had been to deal with in the past etc.......... and a cheque for £460 arrived on the door mat.[Y][H]

Sorry to hear that mate. I passed one last week but forunately going the other way. Had an Evo on the back of a truck and a Puksar pulled in as well. Somebody told me that they have "metrics" to keep up and if they're are a bit low towards the end of the month they have a bit of a blitz to up the figures? -
Dynamat is pretty heavy stuff mate. Iirc the Xtreme stuff is the better stuff, silver backing? And if you put it in, warm it up first makes it a lot more flexible and VERY sticky[] Give the inside of the doors a wipe with some meths/white spirit too so the metals nice and clean[Y]

[Y] Got the Corsa spacers in mine. Just about managed to squeeze in some Alpine SPR-17LS. Tweeters on the little black triangles at the tops of doors. Just need to drill a hole for the wire (which you can't see afterwards), maybe one for a screw to hold them on for sure but they come with sticky pads as well. Was going to go for the infinity's but thought I'd try Alpines as I'd never had anything from them before. Got them from here, www.hendoncarstereo.co.uk [Y] They used to do a beat the best price you can find by a fiver deal, don't know if they still do.

Totally pee'd off or should I say drained!
darryl_martin replied to stephen_cheyne's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Yep. If the cells are facked then it wont hold charge too well, however long you charge it for. Plus I believe batteries can develop a memory and if they are only ever half charged, they start to think half charged is fully charged and that's all they'll hold, regardless. -
PMSL. The bloke in the van at the end must have a sore head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would take the Advans in any colour tbh, great looking wheel. Have got the standard wrx wheels on mine in gun metal and they don't seem to look dirty as quickly as other colours = less cleaning. If that's a consideration. Make sure you post up some pics when you get them

Think they shut it yesterday morning. Some of the people I work with use it and were'nt too happy to get all the way there then have to head back[:@] Been going the country way myself (Cobham to Pepper hill), but the motorway was back up to 3 lanes (using hard shoulder) yesterday so hold ups weren't too bad. See what it's like Monday[:|]

Main dealer told me to put SUL in my MY00. Then I asked him if it was REALLY necessary. Compromised on a mix of the two, 1 tank SUL, a couple of tanks of UL....etc However having driven the car on optimax, it's optimax all the way. Certainly wouldn't describe the power delivery as smooth, turbo comes in with quite a hit, or mine did anyway, then pulled all the way up to about 6300-6500 rpm. Never went far past that tbh, didn't have to. As said above, give it a go on a rolling road/AF and try a few tanks of the Vpower. I was convinced my MY03 wrx wasn't right when I first got it, missed the "kick" from the classic, wrx felt slower (smoother). Still made 269bhp/269lbft which is about what it sholuld be making, so nothing wrong, just different. Good luck
