  1. I used those listed on mine.
  2. Oh dear. Starting to get personal now. Perhaps you two should take this behind closed doors and resolve the issue instead of hanging the dirty laundry out. It only serves to stain this forum and put a dampener on things.
  3. Aye, probably not too far away at all, or at least it should be with over 2 bar of boost! What boost do you think you'll end up running Peter?
  4. The thing is for piece of mind, it won't turn out that way cause you'll always look at the gauges! They're there so you'll always look! You got an adjustable fuel pressure regulator Frank? If you have i'd be inclined to fit a gauge for that.
  5. Can't remember, is it Ecutek you've got Frank? If so, let the ecu worry about it. If it's Apexi, your check engine light will let you know and the commander can confirm it.
  6. Something like: "Post edited to comply with forum rules" Least ways if the poster genuinely doesn't know why it's edited, then they can always contact a moderator or webmaster for an explanation without deviating from forum topic by asking for reasoning on those posts.
  7. Awesome mate - welldone for finding the money to go that far! . Serious commitment.
  8. I've never had the impression this forum is cliquey As for posts being swept under the carpet, i haven't had any of those that i know of or can remember, but does it really matter? This is just a place where you can get light relief from the humdrum of everyday life, or increase your knowledge and make some new friends with like minded interests. Perhaps you take your passion too seriously Dougster, it's easy to do when you become so involved. Take a break and just banter with your mates on here and don't let certain posts get to you. It ain't worth it.
  9. If it ran fine for a while before giving the symptoms you describe Steve, then it sounds like something has happened while driving, so look at things such as connections, hoses etc. If it was a pig in a poke from the beginning, the obvious first point to look at would be the injectors sealing correctly as mistakes are common in the fitment. It could well just be the mismatch of all components and the std ecu is responding to the signals it is seeing. i.e. bigger injectors, bigger MAF.
  10. If you haven't got a fuel pressure gauge, check the oil level. If it's way above the full mark, it'll indicate your injectors are leaking and the fuel has went in the sump.
  11. Check a hose hasn't came off the map sensor and if you've got a fuel pressure gauge, check it doesn't go to zero the minute you switch off ignition.
  12. No i didn't, yet was more of curiosity to the unitiated like myself to what appears to be drivel being posted, instead of the aim of both S'net and SIDC forums bringing like minded enthusiasts together to talk and share about their passions for their cars.
  13. Why bother trying to get back into moderating S'net?
  14. Is he not taking the piss?
  15. The ecu via the knock sensor is obviously detecting some form of noise and hence trying to safeguard the engine by pulling back ignition, so i'd be inclined to look at what can be causing the noise. This might not be engne related at all. It could be something reverberating at that revs and the knock sensor is detecting it and telling the ecu that it is the engine detonating. A couple of suggestions in a moment are probably unlikely to be an issue, but shouldn't be dismissed out of hand, such as gearbox noise, parts vibrating against metal or even quality of fuel. Could even have been caused by sediment in the fuel tank which has now restricted the fuel filter and hence caused a drop in 'volume' of fuel even though pressure is there. These suggestions are as i said unlikely, but only you know the history and use of the car. Could the knock sensor be a particularly sensitive example? For the sake of a couple of minutes changing, it might be worth swapping with someone, resetting the ecu and see what happens from there. You'll know how long it takes to see the symptom come back. There's probably a hundred and one other suggestions as to the cause, but it's something else to be going on with and think about.
  16. What size tyre dougie? Sounds a bit dear?
  17. You might be better off looking for him out the windscreen next time at knockers!
  18. All depends on whether you're pushing or being pushed... IYSWIM
  19. Seen Peter's car for the first time ever today and being a fan of stealth you would never be able to imagine what kind of performance lies underneath that bonnet. This car drives really well and especially so since it was re-built in such a short time scale. Modifying to this level can be fraught with issues not normally thought about, but this has none that i could tell. Very nice. Very very nice. Would be good to see this launching on the strip what with launch control and anti-lag etc. Then take the wife and kids shopping the next day.... Jekyll and Hyde type of car. Well done Peter. Enjoy it to the full.
  20. Underneath the black hose marked with blue arrow. The red arrow is pointing to an aftermarket knock sensor which looks similar.
  21. Make sure you ask for him by name and not N.A.Other otherwise you'll probably be disappointed.
  22. Still a cripple Stephen. Was getting better of sorts then i "cracked" it again on Wednesday. At least i can now walk and can drive, but only an automatic. Can't drive the manual box car.
  23. Are they going to look at that as well Stephen?
