  1. Russ, chill out dude - you're home on Thursday remember. I suggested 10m to Gordon as (in general) the stuff is available in 5/10/15m etc etc rolls . Like i said, i laid it on thick when i did mine. Anything left over was just going to be forgotten about in the garage so i may as well get the good of it. With regards the quality of different wraps: the Cooltek is advertised at 1.5mm nominal thickness, i measured mine at 1mm at best. I'm not saying the 3mm Think Auto stuff is any more efficient (it's not worth the hassle to prove either way) but for the tiny bit extra it costs i'll be giving it a go rather than the Cooltek next time. Gordon could also buy exactly 7m of this as it's sold per metre. PS: if locking wire is good enough for the Super Puma you're flying home on on Thursday, it's good enough for the Scoob. I'm sure they're fine in general but i prefer to avoid using cable ties.
  2. I tend to find a good nut/bolt/screw combo can help here... Trip to the dealer perhaps? I'm sure he'll love that one.
  3. 3mm stuff is available from Think Auto very cheaply - and priced per metre too. I shopped around alot before i bought and eventually found some that was marginally cheaper than the Think Auto product. However, quality was severly lacking and if i were to do it again i'd use the Think Auto stuff. Jubilee clips and locking wire is the proper way to secure it. Should get you a result something like this... Then you can always paint it as well and get this... A word of warning Gordon, this stuff is positively horrible to work with. To actually apply to the pipework the Cooltek wrap is soft and easy to work but the amount of nasty fibres that become airborne is scary. Good ventilation and dust mask is 100% necessary. PS: I'd buy 10m for the downpipe. I'd estimate i used about 15m on mine but i layed it on real thick!
  4. Ok, i won this on the SNet Tsunami auction. Bidding was very low and my intention was to up the bidding to raise more dosh for the Asians. However, this backfired and i ended up paying £220 for the thing... It's the new Jap-Style one which is basically identical to the classic 'Scooby Sport' design but with a 4.5" tail pipe. Construction is top notch, certainly on par with my H&S rear can if not better. £200 to save the hassle of posting it etc. Will fit Classic or Bug/Blob eye.
  5. If it's the same as the Dastek RR in Aberdeen (as i imagine it will be) it's just power/torque. Scott, it's just a rumour but i don't think Davie (drb5) can make it Sat.
  6. Phil, AFAIK Peter Brett is under the Miller umbrella now.
  7. Andy Forrest is more than qualified to do it but may be too busy. There's also JVS.
  8. << The 'fridge' hasn't moved for 5 months... >> Oi, there's only one fridge and it's mine. Yours can be the washing machine.
  9. Good eyed deer Scott. All being well i will be over midday-early afternoon.
  10. Denso 550cc purple-top injectors for sale. Adaptor kits also available for MY92-98 or MY99-00 Imprezas. Full details here.
  11. I thought you were kidding. Why not just do it properly and buy the de-cat now? Or won't it match the neons, flamer kit and F&F stickers?
  12. Erm, it's the RR day. Unless the date has been changed and i've lost it in the quagmire.
  13. Time for a new thread? Cut out all the shlte and confirm runners for a week Sat?
  14. Russ, i have almost finalised this kit. Do you have 550cc Denso injectors to fit to your car so you can actually test it? If so what colour, i.e. purple/red? I know you're offshore at the moment, maybe we can get something sorted out for when you get back? Email me if it's any easier- carl@gc8.co.uk
  15. I'm afraid i'm also going to have to pull out tonight. I'm sure i could get there ok, just a bit concerned that getting back could be an issue with temps supposed to drop to -2. Jamie, did you get my reply to your email? Sent it a couple of days ago...
  16. Thing is, i'm too busy to clear the feckin drive. Hopefully it'll melt enough so i don't piss the parents off by driving up it and packing the snow.
