We're not charging for pax laps on Saturday, and I hope Knockhill won't be charging anyone. Normally towards the end of the year, we'll ask for donations to Santa Cruise for people wanting pax laps, but it is voluntary. John

A huge word of thanks from me to both Scott and Rosie for all their effort and enthusiasm over the years - the strength of the club now wouldn't be where it is without them. I'm very sad to see Scott resign his position, but again fully understand and I hope we'll continue to see you at many events this year. Hopefully you'll be there at Knockhill on Saturday so I can see this new toy of yours , and I'm still owe you some money I believe. Once again - many thanks for all your efforts - they were very much appreciated by both myself and everyone who attended the various events you organised and helped out with over the years. John

There's no need for a wagon/Avant when you get kids. The standard Impreza boot can accomodate most dizes of pram and all accessories quite easily. Agter 6 months when they are big enough to go into a stroller, you can eaisly get everything in the back seat. I got my first Impreza for the precise reason it had 4 doors, a big boot and lots of safety features (ABS, side impact bars, airbags, 4WD etc). It really is a good sensible family car and we managed just fine with ours (mostly without rear folding seats!) and our boys are now 9 and 11. Lots of new families get suckered into the "must have a people carrier" because they see all the other mums driving them. Most of them have smallish boots unless you fold the back seats down, have a high centre of gravity which makes the kids travel sick when the roll so much, and extra seats that you will maybe use one or two days a year when you travel as a family with grandma and grandpa at the same time. For the cost of lugging the extra seats, and lack of driving involvement all year round, just hire a big volvo estate for those two days/two weeks of the year when you need the space. We even managed to go on holiday a few times, with all the stuff needed for a toddler and a baby in my car, and even our dog. It's amazing how much you can actually fit in if you are creative - remember that their feet won't touch the floor for at least 6 - 7 years so there's all the space behind the front seats that can be used as well - you can even fit a stroller in there after you get them seated Remember that the wagons are slightly noisier than saloons, as you get more road noise coming through from the rear. Having said all this, the newer cars are slightly better in some respects with the ISOfix fittings, more airbags and in the Spec D, better sound proofing and leather seats that wipe clean easily The 2.5 engine doesn't need to be revved so hard either and can be driven mostly everywhere keeping the revs below 3,000rpm for smooth and quiet progress and reasonable fuel economy. Give me a shout if you want to have a look/test drive of a newer 2.5 car. John

Cameras are generally fine, as normally you'll be in a group of marshalls at a specific point/corner. As long as everyone isn't taking photos at the same time there shouldn't be a problem. In fact being a marshall can get you to good vantage points that normal spectators aren't allowed

I regularly wait until the warning light comes on before filling up my car. Often the warning light will come on when I head home from work, and I'll get home (15 miles), and come back in the following day before filling up. I get about 55 - 57 litres per fill on average - usually about 260 - 280 miles depending on the type of roads I've been driving on, but somtimes it drops to about 220 ;

I had mine done by Wallace Performance - did a good job for reasonable money. I think MH Engineering have now moved out to Inverurie ?

I should be able to do it this year (work permitting), the past few years have clashed with Knockhill dates. It's a good day out, as you get to stand closer to the action, where normal spectators aren't allowed. There's free training and usually an after event party. John

My car is so dirty, you can't read the rear number plate at the moment. Can't wash it either, as it's still thick with ice from last night which hasn't thawed yet. Great photos Neil - a clear car really stands out at the moment, and the lighting is good for photos.

Better than that are the addition of HID headlamps - make a huge difference to nighttime driving. My first two Imprezas had headlamp washers, but I didn't think they made that much of a difference, other than making the headlamps wet so you could quickly wipe them clean

Great day out and it was certainly worth all the effort. My car was dirty, but just couldn't get it cleaned anywhere and impossible at home with it being minus 3!
