Welcome! Hope to see you around at some of the events. John -
Ken's still around, and has attended virtually every Aberdeen/shire monthly meeting this year. His car is needing some work done on it, and he's also building a track car as well, which is why he's not around so much as normal. We were sorting out the details for the Alford event at the last monthly meet. John

I've watched it a few times with our kids, but that was quite a few years ago. Can't ever remember seeing some Scoobs though! John

I've been through quite a few sets of F1s over the past 5 years and they are a great tyre. However, last time out I tried Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, and in my opinion they were better all round that the F1. More grip and more confidence inspiring in the dry, and almost as good in the wet. Seemed to wear better as well, as the F1s always seem to scrub the shoulders quite quickly on my cars, and the PS2s also had slighly less road noise. Only £109 fully fitted from Costco in 225/45x17 John

John - try white spirit to remove the Cuprinol stuff, as that's what it says to clean the brushes with after you have applied it. Won't damage the paintwork, though it will strip off any wax you have on, and leave an oily film on the car that will wash off (lots of suds), then polish and wax etc. John

I've only got a couple of Audi shots as well, and none of them particularly good [] http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnsidc/sets...57600291732680/ One of them would have turned out OK, but I only got 2/3 of the car in the frame! I think I've got a couple more of the Westfield, and perhaps one of the black S3 though they aren't the best. Will have a look later today. John

Stephen, I've emailed you the original full size photo, which would be better than the low res one I uploaded to flickr to use as a wallpaper. John

Stephen, I've got 6 photos of you gong around the track. I think the one below is the best of them (cropped a bit from the original). Rest at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnsidc/sets...57600281631908/ John

Fantastic photos everyone! Colin with the VW Golf has a video to watch at with quite a bit of Subaru action in there. Stephen - I've got a few of your car that I've not had a chance to sort out yet (I took about 150 photos split across three partially used memroy cards - reminds me to download all the photos and re-format before going to an event!), but none are very sharp. I'll have a look later today once I catch up with work stuff, and upload some for you. John

I've uploaded some og my photos to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnsidc/sets...57600271220717/ I've only got dial-up access at home, so can't link to them just now to include them in this thread, as it takes too long [] I'm hoping someone with faster access could perhaps do this for me ? Sorry there's only a small selection of cars, as with being on track myself, I didn't get much time to take photos, so it was who was going round on those few laps that I've got. John

Glad you all enjoyed the day - it was nice that it stayed completely dry for a change, but it was still a bit chilly this morning. I had to clear frost off my car just after 5am! Even managed to get out on track myself for a reasonable amount of time, getting 4 sessions and about 35 laps in total. Managed to get a few photos as well, but most didn't turn out that great. I'll upload a few of the better ones when I'm back to work on Tuesday. Just a reminder, that our next event is on the 28th July from 9am to 12, and there are only a handful of slots remaining, and there are several of the time attack competitors booked up as well, so expect some very fast cars on track [] John

If you intend to come along to Knockhill on Saturday to participate or just to watch, could you please park in paddock 2, which is behind the club house. This means taking a right turn just as you go through the gates at Knockhill. The reason for this is that there is a big racing event on this weekend and the main paddock will be used by the teams for their trailers etc. There have been issues in the past where the arriving teams have not been able to set-up cars next to each other as our cars have been scattered around taking up any reasonable sized space. You are still free to park on the untarred ground behind the grandstand, and also anywhere else around the track - it's just the main paddock that we need to keep clear. If we can comply with this request and all works out smoothly, then it could well open up additional track time opportunities when major events are taking place. John PS There are a few slots available now - please contact me by email on john@sidc.co.uk if you are interested, though I'll not be able to reply until Friday morning as I'm out of the country on business.

Just a heads up to say that there are only a couple of slots remaining for this event. If anyone was thinking about taking part, NOW is the time to book up. I've had a quick look through the participant list, and there are some very interesting cars taking part this time [] John

Congratulations! John

My pleasure [] - absolutely no problems at all, and a very pleasant way to help break up an otherwise long journey.

Just drive down to Glasgow & Ayr and back like I did this weekend [] Left ABZ yesterday evening, stopped off at Cumbernauld to drop off a set of wheels and tyres to Archie who is friend of John Stevenson - well it was his wife actually, before heading on through to Paisley, where we had a great meal with super fast service at Peter's place. Picked up some bits to deliver back to JC on the Saturday. On Saturday morning, met another John (I think!) at S&S who was in getting his RB320 fettled. Very nice car and first time I've seen on close up in the flesh - it does look very nice and extremely mean! Early afternoon I met up with Scott Robson to drop off another set of wheels (thankfully not tyres this time!) at Stirling (we were fully loaded coming down, and could barely see out of the back window with things stacked up high!). Later in the afternoon, I met JC for ths first time at Forfar, and handed over his bits from Peter and had a good chat about cars - very nice P1 he has! Finally, and completely randomly, I pulled over to let an Impreza pull out at the Fettercairn junction on the A90, only to find out it was fellow Aberdeen member Eric Kiltie and his wife, who had been marshalling on the Granite City Rally. Stopped at the next lay-by for a quick chat, and then off back home again. All in all a very enjoyable weekend, and great to meet so many fellow members and enthusiasts! John

Give Keith at PPS in Inverurie a call. They can repair/straighten alloy wheels, but it depends on how bad the damage is. John http://www.ppsglassfibre.co.uk/main.htm

A very rare book that is almost worth it's weight in gold has appeared in Ebay. It's a genuine Subaru parts catalogue and lists all the part numbers, with exploded diagrams etc. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA-IMPOR...1QQcmdZViewItem There's also a parts catalogue for 92 - 98 models as well on offer by the same seller. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPORT-IMPREZ...1QQcmdZViewItem John

I'll be heading north back through Glasgow (M77/M8/M80) and going back to ABZ via Dundee on Saturday afternoon if that helps ? John

Congratulations! Sorry I can't come along, but I'm sure we'll have a few beers at some point in the future John
